This is why I took this picture at the Natural Bridge in Aruba:

So that we could avoid a repeat of the Antigua accident.

Cool - I just took care of all the end-of-year Teacher gifts! I've become an Amazon.com lover - earlier this year we signed up the PTO as an "associate" (an Amazon program to help school organization raise money) and started pushing everyone to use the weblink on our PTO website when they were going to Amazon since that way we get a small percentage of every purchase for the PTO (for most stuff it is between 4% and 6% - not much per purchase for most stuff, but it adds up). Well, once we started that we started really LOOKING at what all you can buy from Amazon and the prices are pretty good too and now we seem to be ordering a couple things every week :rolleyes1 This evening as I was trying to figure out when I would have time to run out and get gifts or gift cards before Friday, it suddenly occured to me - hey, maybe Amazon has gift certificates! They do and I just did all the gifts in about 5 minutes - just buy them and print on the printer! :cool1:

I hate shopping and doing this stuff on line just thrills me - I'm such a geek!:lmao:

(shameless plug - feel free to ignore) If anyone isn't already doing this for another organization and would like to use our PTO link to Amazon, you can find it at our PTO website at www.TurnerPTO.org (I couldn't resist after explaining the whole thing above - sorry!)

As I was reading this, I thought I was going to have to PM you for the link. We buy from Amazon every so often. Might as well have some of our purchase helping somebody out!:thumbsup2

Yea!:cool1: DH just changed our pictures! I hated the other one! You can see us better now! This was one time I had my sling off (from rotator cuff surgery).:yay:

Great pics!

HEY....I say again I am only interested in white!!! I SWEAR I'm not trying to be difficult but "there is a certain age where you DON"T WEAR BLACK in high temps..................so I'm doing white only also. I SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO can tell it's not the norm....but it's what I can do so I"M DOIN' IT:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

We're only getting white t-****'s too. But we're already in the shunned section of the ship, so I didn't think it would matter anyway. And don't worry if you end up in the shunned section either, it's gonna be pretty crowded with a fun crew! (Pretty much all of us!)

We will keep your DD in our prayers Cheryl.

Here you go Andy

Sorry I didn't respond back. I had to leave to go to see a surgeon. I have to have my gall bladder out Monday!:scared1: I have been sick for a year and the last time I got sick I had to call an ambulance! I will be so glad to not feel bad anymore!:yay: This won't be as bad as my last Disney cruise which was two weeks after rotator cuff surgery!

Wishing you good luck and a speedy recovery

Good Morning from Hockey Town!!!

Well Stanley is back home in Hockey Town. Watched the last 2 minutes and it was a nail bitter, but the guys pulled it off! My neighborhood went crazy with fireworks and beeping car horns! The big parade is tomorrow, which will be a pain, because I work 2 blocks from where the parade will be and people start coming downtown around 4 or 5 AM!:scared1:

Oh well! Time to ketchup up!

Well I took care of Fathers Day taken care of today. The girls and I were out today looking for a dress for Megan's 5th grade graduation tomorrow (nothing like waiting for the last minute). Anyway when we were looking for DD's dress I noticed they had a new shipment of Tommy Bahama shirts. Bill loves TB so I bought him 5 TB shirts and some dress pants as well.
I kept calling them Bahama Mama's so I am sure the salesperson thinks I am drunk hick. :rotfl2:

O K, is this somehow a double post? I thought I read this last night? Must be deja vu  My airline ticket went down $18.00 :headache: grumble grumble. The DGKs will be starting Camp Grandma and Poppa today. DD has a Drs appt this am and then a funeral for her DHs boss.
I'm looking to replace my Sony cybershot only cuz it is from 2004 and 3.2 megapixels. I can get a $75 Circuit city gc and apply it towards a new one.Even regular price they are less than what I spent in 2004. I have so many memory sticks for the Sony, I will probably upgrade. The Camcorder is still OK. But that is also 2004 model. Too bad they don't do trade ups. I figure one tape per day should do it for the trip.

As my DW (JunesGoofy) mentioned earlier today, she threw me a surprise belated 40th B-Day party when my family was in town this past weekend.

What she didn't mention was that it was NOT an over-the-hill party, but a Mickey party. ::MickeyMo How appropriate! She had giant Mickey balloons and Disney decor. You'd think I was turning 4, not 40. She tried to get WDW to ship Mickey Head Rice-Krispy treats, but they wouldn't do it because they contained chocolate.:(

And, yes, I had no clue that she was planning it.

Finally, she asked everyone to get me Disney Dollars for the TOAL!!!! :mickeyjum

WTG JunesGoofy :thumbsup2

HEY....I say again I am only interested in white!!! I SWEAR I'm not trying to be difficult but "there is a certain age where you DON"T WEAR BLACK in high temps

Must be 40 ;) :duck:

Not a lot in that part of the burbs. I imagine you're going to be at ice works in Aston. (cruisin'mike & I are a stone''s throw away)

Yes..it's the ice works. I was trying to calculate for Saturday...if the game is over by 11:30am, we'd only have about 4-1/2 hours...I don't know if the aquarium would be doable because it looks like we're about 45 minutes away (1-1/2 hour roundtrip) :confused3

Thanks again.

Romper Room was a syndicated kids show. There were different Miss XXX's all over.

Yes, and I believe it was filmed in Cartagena.

That's why we have Crash. Let's just say it wasn't Two Twin Beds with Early American Garage Sale Decor in a Beachless Cape Cod rental.
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Landscape Architect ..... DD was born right before my senior yr in college. After school i kinda took a 9 yr detour before i actually got into my field.

K....dh took that same detour. :goodvibes He is now in residential and commercial design.

We were so broke and so happy! Everyone should spend some time in their life struggling to makes ends meet. You realize how little you actually need to survive!

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Cheryl......prayers for your dd!!

June.....I hope your surgery and recovery go well!!

can someone tell me how to post of pic on the pirate zone?

If you want to post on the boards, you need a photobucket or similar account and just use the "img" button.

If you want it on the website, e-mail the webmaster all the info you want posted and the pic.

Or do both.

Tom - I have it and readily accessible but my scanner is broken or else is being finicky on when it wants to scan. I can see if DD can jerry-rig something to get it over to you. Whom do I send it soo? Just let me know.

You can send to me or Ed Martin. Use the webmaster link on the front page of website

When we ordered our fish extenders, she did end up emailing me for our info, probably because it had been 2-3 days and I hadn't sent her anything. (I couldn't decide what exactly we wanted!) If you know what you want, I'm sure you could go ahead and send it to her.

Kim

I just ordered my fish extender and got an email asking what I wanted on it, colors, names, etc. Do other people end up putting everyone's name on it? I want our last name at the top but I don't know about first names. Does anyone else worry about that? Thanks!

Lots of Engineers here I guess! DH & I are both Mechanical Engineers although neither of us works in that field. DH is a software project manager and I have been working for my father in the family business for the last 8.5 years doing everything from computer support, programming, sales, graphic design & advertising, etc, etc, etc.

DH and I are also engineers...chemical. We met in college when he was my TA! I haven't worked in ages, though, unless you count all the work I do taking care of the kids (which is more work than I ever did when I was working!). DH has worked for the same oil/chemical company since graduation.

Kim

That reminds me, what is the differenc between digital and optical zoom?

Which is better? Zoom is something I need, along with a good flash!

Optical = lens moves in and out so the lens is doing the zoom and resolution is not (as) affected

Digital = computer on board camera does the zoom, basically like cropping the picture on the PC. If you later want to crop the picture on the PC, the overall resolution (picture quality/dottyness) will be reduced.

I hope so. Wouldn't want everyone running to the other end of the ship when I go in somewhere...might tip the ship! ;)

Don't worry, there are a bunch of us in the "shunned" section of the ship because we haven't been to the shows or gone to Palo or ......

:listen: :listen: If you could all say a little prayer for my DD..... she has a little operation tomorrow! I will be babysitting my DGKIDS.

Cheryl, prayers said!

Wow - talk about all these Huge homes. My home was originally a summer cottage circa 1913 - kinda remodeled in 1962 - and really needs work now - but is Tiny. Admittedly, my 2 German Shepherds (96 lbs. & 73 lbs.) wouldn't mind a bit more room - but I like cozy.

DH wanted a larger home for several reasons -- we have 5 children, 2 are adults BUT, we hope to someday have grandchildren from all of them ;) And we wanted a house where they could all come home to and the grandkids would always find plenty to do! If we only had a couple of children we wouldn't have bought a house this size. We think it is very odd the BIL & his wife have 2 children and a home the same size as ours...and they're building a larger home....that never even have out of town guests :confused3 (MIL/FIL and ourselves have out of town guests regularly).

My brother called today and told me that he was driving close to my house and wanted me to know the gas was $3.77 at the Race Trac by my house.

My brother is my own personal gas checker :rotfl2:

:lmao: :rotfl2: I'm dh's gas checker because he will buy gas at the most expensive place there is! And he will only buy Premium!!!

And, yes, I had no clue that she was planning it.

Finally, she asked everyone to get me Disney Dollars for the TOAL!!!! :mickeyjum

This is too cool!!! That's great that people actually bought you Disney Dollars (I can't get our families to actually give the kids DD......:confused3 )

Me too! Me hunter, you lame waster of time for a small miniscule difference in product...oops, did I say that out loud? :confused3 :confused3

:lmao: :lmao: I hate to shop so when I do decide to buy somethng I do it QUICK!

Our house is only a few years old and DH has to do a ton of handyman stuff on it due to shoddy construction! We had a water leak last fall (and likely since the house was built) because when they installed the drain pipe for the upstairs sinks, they cut it wrong. So instead of cutting a new piece of pipe, they just installed this one and stuck a piece of plastic into it and a ton of glue. Well the piece of plastic only served to redirect the water OUT of the pipe.

Oh and then the roof around our chimney was done wrong so the water was going behind the stucco and tearing large chunks off. We attempted to hire a handyman and his roofer, but that didn't work... then his other roofer didn't work out so DH got up there and 'fixed' it.

I would love to have one of those! Our house came with an 85gal water heater since we have a spa tub. We had friends go through 3 plumbers before finding one that would install a new tankless instead of the tank. We also had an experience with a plumber too... We had a huge leak... They brought this thing in to listen for the leak and thought they heard something. Wanted to charge us $12k to tear up our foundation. Turns out it was leaking in the sprinklers in the front yard!!

:scared1:  :scared1: You have had a horrible time!!!!
