My DH didn't believe that the wenches would be wearing tiaras either. I ordered one from ebay and when it came he goes "Where are you wearing that ?" I told him on the cruise and that others were also. He insists that they are all "yanking my chain" and that noone will be wearing it but me:headache

I already had a tiara...... But after I bought a new gown, I had to get new shoes, then I had to get a new necklace & earrings, then had to get a new tiara to match and finally stopped with new gloves. My AmEx is smokin' this month! :faint:

Cheers!

Room Tour (Task Force Leader A Litle Pixie Dust – PM to participate)
Ever wonder how the other ½ lives? Take a tour of Category 12 up through Category ?? cabins to see what they look like. Volunteers needed to organize and to host with their cabins.

Thank you.

I'm not wearing a tiara, but the DW is, so I'll go ahead and answer. There's a poll for Grownup Princess Night on the pirate zone. Right now, it looks like the 2nd formal night, Ballroom Under the Stars night, is in the lead.

Here's the poll: CLICK HERE.

And be sure to sign up if you're interested in participating by CLICKING HERE. It's not required, but if you do, you may get an extra trinket or two.

Thanks! I just voted... However, I honestly can't see why we couldn't wear tiaras on both formal nights :)

Just wait until August... it might be on fire by then!

I have a tiara but I can't wear it until I get married...maybe I need to get another!

Does it match this dress --

I probably won't be wearing this dress on Tropical night BUT, I will wear it either on the cruise or in WDW afterwards. ;)

I have a ton of Disney dresses that I bring with me! I wear them alot at home, also.

I was concerned about this tour too after seeing some of the videos at YouTube, so I emailed DCL excursions. I was worried that it would not be appropriate for my DD10 (though they allow 10 and up) and I was worried the other adults may not appreciate a kid being on what may be an adult excursion. Anyway, DCL ensured me it would be family friendly, so hopefully that means it will be a little bit lighter on the "booze cruise" aspect!!! At least I am hoping because we really want to experience the beach and show part!!!!

And....I have that same black Mickey dress!!!!!:goodvibes

Yes, the skirt matches the dress, but I won't look that good in it! Hey, we will have to get our picture taken all wearing the same thing!

I love the purple hat..I sent for a catolog. thank you for the tip....

We wanted to do the Rhythm of the nights as well but we get back from the excursion we signed up for until 530.. and its too late.

I would love to get a tiara..lol ...how fancy are you ladies dressing up for ballroom night?
I have seen some beautiful tiars to buy.
I have one from my wedding but I dont want to ruin the veil.

I just bought a brown.. yes brown gown from MACY'S. I hate brown mind you but it does look very nice.. Its that shimmer brownish back color..
I have been looking at it for several weeks and my credit card was empty:thumbsup2

That sounds like a very elegant brown!

Tropical night question
OK, is this a dress up event like pirate night? If so, what are you ladies going to wear? DH will wear his tropical Mickey shirt - am I expected to turn up in a grass skirt?????

TIA for your input (valid or other wise!)

Celestine

We are planning on wearing our Hawaiian print shirts for this. Not really tropical but no one will look too closely I'm sure ;)

Unfortunately, with DCL as soon as the rooms go into GTY status, they have to be assigned manually. This is how they can work on getting you rooms near each other when you have two, etc. Have patience, you will be on the ship! :)

As I recall, the internal top secret GTY assignment calendar is something like this:

90 days out - Cancel reservations for all those who haven't paid in full. Order darts.

60 days out. Go to Kinkos, Make giant blow up posters of ship showing room layouts.

45 days out. Interns write out reservation numbers by category on little pieces of paper and put them in giant Goofy hats.

40 days out. Set up giant poster and hats. Lay out darts.

31 days out. Three members of the Fairy Godmother department arrive in a puff of magic smoke. Select those GTY's who want cabins near each other and assign them cabins based on their magical aura. Select a handful of other reservations for upgrades. Vanish in a chorus of Bibbidi-Bobbity-Boo.

30 days out. Group of DCL interns arrive early morning. Start pulling reservations from hats and throwing darts at the board to assign cabins.

29 days out. Cabins are assigned. Except for troublemakers who are left in suspense for a while longer.

Posts on the Kid's meet thread.... I want to say that I am so jealous that so many of your children love to read!! Both of our boys (28 & 10) are avid readers, DH & I both read ALOT!

But, for some reason our girls don't care for books.
Our 17dd only reads what is assigned to her. 6dd (almost 7) told us *I'm too cool for books* and they way it was said it sounded like she really is too cool for books! ;)

I was really upset the other night while i was talking to dh about this..... I carry books & reading material with me every where! I always have at least one book in my purse!!

I'm a huge reader but my brother never did and still hardly ever reads anything. It hasn't stopped him having a successful career though ;) My Mum never reads anything except the TV Guide and cross word books.

My DH also hardly ever reads anything and would you believe he is a qualified librarian? He's just recently changed his career to IT and since he's stopped working in libraries, he has actually read a couple of books.

Here's the brown dress I just won on EBay
BrownGown.jpg

I'll need to have it altered, but I couldn't pass up the price. I will most likely wear this one for the "Regular" Formal Night and my fancier for our "Princess Night" with my tiara, gloves and jewels. It's red and made of a very heavy satin, strapless, with some subtle embroidery and rhinestones at the bust and empire waist.

Very very elegant and pretty..I love the so called train...what dinner do you have so I will know its you if I see you..

OMG gloves and tiara.. I better go back to ebay...

It looks like everyone read the same reviews about Rhythms of the Night. I'm glad to hear it's not going to be the super Booze Cruise I read about. That was the most negative thing everyone had to say about it on CruiseCritic.

I haven't seen the same Mickey dress I plan to wear yet. It's blue with Mickey and flowers in little clumps throughout the material. I bought my husband a Reyn Spooner Mickey shirt on Disney Outlet today. When we were in Hawaii we found Reyn Spooner stores and he really like their shirts.

I guess I'll just sit back and let the Disney Fairies work their magic on assigning staterooms and hope for the best. An upgrade would be nice:worship:

DH and i have the tropical mickey outfits like the ones shown in this photo...

I have that dress!!! 6dd is wearing hers today. :) 10ds outgrew his matching shirt a year or so ago....

I'm pretty sure there is no way in holy heck that dh would ever wear a shirt that matched my clothes! ;)

That's cuuute!

Thanks!

Wouldn't that be cute!! I am such a dork that I usually wear that dress for the 1st time we have dinner in Animater's Palate.......

I have a dear friend who is his 2nd or 3rd Cousin.

Now that is COOL!!!

My husband doesn't believe there will be a princess night I don't think, but I want an excuse to wear a tiara!! I found a beautiful gown at Nordstroms too! :)

My DH didn't believe that the wenches would be wearing tiaras either. I ordered one from ebay and when it came he goes "Where are you wearing that ?" I told him on the cruise and that others were also. He insists that they are all "yanking my chain" and that noone will be wearing it but me:headache:

What is wrong with these husbands?? :confused3 Don't they remember this is DISNEY every *girl* is a Princess!!! :goodvibes

Congrats on finding a beautiful gown!!! Nordstroms rocks! LOL!

I would love to get a tiara..lol ...how fancy are you ladies dressing up for ballroom night? I have seen some beautiful tiars to buy.
I have one from my wedding but I dont want to ruin the veil.

I think that is the night that I am wearing the full length beaded gown -- it is very fitted though... so, it might not look very *princessy*.

And I am all for wearing the tiara both formal nights!! :yay:

I'm a huge reader but my brother never did and still hardly ever reads anything. It hasn't stopped him having a successful career though ;) My Mum never reads anything except the TV Guide and cross word books. .

I don't even know how that is possible.....

:lmao: 28ds is in IT.

Good evening....

Had a nice mini-meet with Chris and was able to meet Mike (MagicalPins) also. The weather was realy nice and not to crowded today at the park. Hope everyone had a great weekend. Tried to play ketchup but gave up...lots of posts today!

Hey all, another quick drive by posting. Hope everyone has a great evening and a great week. Work is going to be a bear this week--as my Mom is on vacation and I won't get any time off. You all have fun this week:)

Not sure if anyone has looked into SPF clothing. I'm not sure that it even works, but I decided to pick up a couple of shirts to try out, especially for Panama Canal crossing day....

I ordered from Lands End... In case anyone is intrested, here are a couple of links...

SPF Shirt 1

SPF Shirt 2

I haven't looked for SPF clothing before. But what would be the difference between these posted and any other shirt? I'd still have to put sunscreen on my arms? I guess I pictured SPF shirts as mock turtlenecks and long sleeves. Guess I should research it more.
