ATTN ALL SM PARTICIPANTS!!!!

Sorry folks for being absent - I got sick and ended up having to go to the doctor's on Friday where he gave me some antibiotics. I hereby pledge to not make fun of Steve getting sick anymore on cruises. Here he is all better and I've been laid out flat on my back for the last two days.

Anyway, just wanted to post that I have sent e-mails to all those that have requested to be included in the SM since just before my trip started. Anyway, if you sent me a pm or e-mail and did not get something from me - let me know by sending me an e-mail to my e-mail address and or here. I need to clear up some space so if you get a note saying I'm full - be patient. I'm still a bit under the weather. Today was the first time I got up since going to the Doctors.

SO, with that being said, I am now in the processing of assigning SM for both the kids and adults so if you wavering on joining in - just go ahead and let me know. I hope to have both kids and adults assigned by the next 2 weeks hopefully sooner!

Thanks all - and also, SPECIAL REQUEST for one person who will be willing to take me on as a SM, seems I have a nasty habit of finding out who I get. (I caught my SM on the WB) Anyway, if one volunteer can please pm PBader and let her know - she will keep that info from my prying eyes. :rotfl:

OK - now back to your regular programming!
heyy, I didn't get an email! Atleast not recently. I got one a long long time ago when I sent the info for my kids (I signed up the kids- not adults- in our family)
does this mean we're not on the list????

While the wenches are scoring dresses and tiaras from Ebay, I went and won a new set of swimwear:

So far I've found two dresses that I really like.

Prom season is just getting started here so I'm not expecting find any good prices on dresses until next month.

I love the top of the second dress, but think the skirt might be a bit much. I like the top of the first one, but the skirt is boring.:confused3

What do you think?

I love the second one's bodice but I think you are right, the dress might be a bit much - perhaps if it was satiny? Can you try before you buy? Lovely colour on the second one too.

Thanks for helping me spend my money!!!::yes:: ::yes::

I remember reading about that....scary....:scared1:

Also, if anyone is like me and wants to get their hands on anything from the WB, their meets thread has some great pics and even video slideshows recently posted. I have been very happy looking at them.

Just wanted to post a picture a picture we took today. We were enjoying some Dole Pinapple Whip. :yay:

That second oneis HOT!!! Love it!!

His camp last year was taught by a real theater guy and DS loved it, but didn't want to sign up again. Trust me, we both tried to convince him. I don't know what his deal is. I think it may be that girls out numbered boys about 10-1. Maybe he has some messed up idea that it is girly? Who knows. The DH of one of my co-workers just earned his PhD in theater - he mainly does combat choreography, so I'm going to try to get DS with him for a while.

When DS was younger there were a couple of times that he was the only boy. But, he's only lived 2 yrs of his life with a brother in the house (oldest ds was 18 and starting college when Elvis was born). He's always been surrounded by girls. ;)

My 5th grade teacher actually took books away from me! I was not allowed to have a leisure reading book in my desk, because I would rush through my school work so I could get back to my book!

I'm always reading at least 2 books and a magazine.

Taking reading time away was how I used to punish oldest DS

I can fix a leaky faucet, install a toilet, change a tire and the oil in my car, install a ceiling fan, re-wire my dryer, install laminate flooring, drywall...but I have never, in my entire life, ever, cut the grass!

If I want to I can do alot of things -- I've changed light fixtures when dh was out of town and I wanted it done NOW! LOL! I've ripped out closets and installed new shelving, etc.... And several other *house jobs* BUT, it is not expected that I help with those things -- and that is my point to DD. I know too many women that hate doing *remodel* jobs or *yard work* But, from day one that thought it would be *fun* to do those things and now they are *stuck*.
.

Stept5 and I think a few helpers are planning the Scrapbooking to be announced soon!!::yes::

That is on my to-do list this week!!

I want us to do *kits*. They are small & fun! I am going to put together a few more samples and then post photos.

Like this one....

I have that one too and made my dh a tie to match...

I didn't really care for how it looks in photos though...

I have that one, too! I own about 10 Disney dresses and a couple of skirt outfits. :goodvibes On *blah* days I wear one to make myself feel better. ;)

So when's the 75 day mark? Dreams Unlimited tells me that my trip is now 75 days away.... But I'm unable to book anything.... Is anyone else booking at 75 or am I the only one??

Most of my casual clothing is Disney. I've even worn Disney stuff to work on casual Friday.

I don't have any Disney dresses though (as I rarely even wear a skirt) but I have tops, tshirts, pants/jeans, shoes, sweatshirts, fleece, jackets - something for all seasons really :lmao: I even had a MM swimsuit until it wore out. Most of my night wear is Disney, pretty much all of my socks and underwear are Disney too - is that TMI? :rotfl2:

OK...

... we're back from having had a really beautiful SUNSET BBQ and fire at the beach with Goofyonthehighseas and Travelnfam.... and I can see ROGER is posting exactly as I am posting here too... BUT (hah!) I got on just a few seconds ahead of Roger... but Roger posted his IMAGES before I could post mine. < wink >

And nice pictures they are! I doubt my pix are as nice - as I was trying to keep a watchful eye out for the seaguls - who managed steal a hot dog and one of my chicken kabobs - and I was mostly cooking - or trying to snap a photo of the seal who was hunting in the surf or the dolphins who were swimming north!

I must say - WOW - it was sooo nice to spend an afternoon with our local DiS neighbors over some hotdogs, strawberry pie, chicken and salad. Among other things... (I really liked those chedder potato chips - Alicia has negotiated ALL potato chips out of my diet - so it was a treat to have them on hand! THANX Janelle & Lindsey for bringing them!).... and those chocolate marshmellos.... OOOoooo.... and then I must say (yuck) we were BBQing marshmello peeps. What a concept.

At any rate - in case I had not mentioned to all involved - for the record - I found my portable BBQ gas grill - however I could not use it because the pressure regulator was missing! That's why I fell back on that silly disposable charcol grill. It just BARELY was able to cook the food I brought. Barely...

At any rate - I'll return to eedit in photos here - so I can PRETEND to have posted them ahead of Roger.... < wink > .... nawww.... I'll post them down stream IF I have any good ones. I shot video with my new DVD-camcorder with the bargain basement battery from Hong Kong... and I shot really a tiny fraction of the number of photos I normally would - if I were not cooking and managing the fire.

Cheers! Roger & Cherie, Janelle & DH Lindsey (plus children)... < wink >

I love the purple hat..I sent for a catolog. thank you for the tip....

We wanted to do the Rhythm of the nights as well but we get back from the excursion we signed up for until 530.. and its too late.

I would love to get a tiara..lol ...how fancy are you ladies dressing up for ballroom night?
I have seen some beautiful tiars to buy.
I have one from my wedding but I dont want to ruin the veil.

I just bought a brown.. yes brown gown from MACY'S. I hate brown mind you but it does look very nice.. Its that shimmer brownish back color..

I have been looking at it for several weeks and my credit card was empty
:thumbsup2

OK... are any of these remotely similar to your new Brown dress?

What do the other California DISers do when we can't make to DL for the DIS meet? We have our own DIS meet on the beach :yay: After all the beach is probably the only thing that could come close to DL or WDW right. Tom (CaptainCrash) invited us and travelnfam (Janelle, DH Lindsey (sp?) and their two children to a beach gathering today. We had a great time with Tom BBQing and the kids playing in the surf. We lit a bonfire and roasted marshmallows and made smores. What a great day chatting and getting to know each other. Tom and Alicia were very gracious hosts. Thank you very much for a wonderful day. What would a day at the beach with Tom be without photos. So here is my offering before he gets home and post his.

Now .... does everyone SEE what I mean when I say "I" am INNOCENT .... especially compared to some neighbors here?

< wink >

heyy, I didn't get an email! Atleast not recently. I got one a long long time ago when I sent the info for my kids (I signed up the kids- not adults- in our family)
does this mean we're not on the list????

Hi BIP :wave2: Nope your all signed up and fine - I was referring to those that e-mailed me in the month of May! Your fine! :thumbsup2

Did you figure it out when I was your SM?:goodvibes

Hey Tracy - on sailaway Ithought it was a bit suspicious when you jumped in front of me to say hi - but then I got sidetracked. I forgot all about it until I got the wine booklet and then I thought - naw - and put you right out of my mind. I must say - I was geniuinely happy and surprised! :rotfl:

Happy June 1st everyone.

In my attempt to get back into a 34" waist tux (yeah dream on Andy), I got back on my mountain bike the past two days....now my knees are telling me to go slow - pass the Advil please.
Well the Wii Fit will be here in a couple of days, so I'll see how that goes - can you really loose weight playing a video game :happytv:

Now the serious question.......for the Cliff Divers, how far away from the divers are we going to be? I'm trying to work out what kind of lenses to bring on the TOAL and this is the current unknown bit I'm missing.

Andy

Andy, I see you got your answer from a later post but thought I'd put my two cents in. I was standing on the highest level but outside the restaurant (I refused to pay for the drink for both DH and I in order to get a better view) back in 2005 with my 100-300 conventional lens and got some decents shots. This time, I took my 100-400 lens and my 25-105 lens. And this time I climbed all the way down to the bottom landing. I ended up shotting at about 200m and got some really close up shots of their face expressions. The 400 gave me good face shots but blurred when they hit the water - too close but keep in mind if you climb all the way down to the bottom - you got to climb all the way back up. LOL :)

Tropical night question
OK, is this a dress up event like pirate night? If so, what are you ladies going to wear? DH will wear his tropical Mickey shirt - am I expected to turn up in a grass skirt?????

TIA for your input (valid or other wise!)

Celestine

Celestine -

On tropical night on the WB many women were dressed in traditional Mexican style dress more than tropical night. There were actually both but I guess the Mexican dress just stood out more to me. As for me - look for the BRIGHT YELLOW house frock on me. :lmao: You'll know when you see it. :teeth:
