Hi everyone.

I don't know how many here read the community board. I posted on a thread there last night and this morning. My views/opinions were in the minority. There were a few posters that shared my views. One of those posters made a pretty nasty (racist) comment to another poster.

Well it seems, that some DISers now think I'm posting under two names and that I'm the person who made the nasty remarks.

I just wanted to let you all know that I did not make nor do I agree with those comments. In the 7 years that I've been on the DIS I've only had one name.

I started a thread on the community board to try to clear things up. I also PMed the person that was insulted.

At this point I don’t know what else I can do.

Since I've been accused of something similar (not creating a 2nd ID here, but on another site) I had to go fish it out and see what was up. So since another poster had the same viewpoint as you, a few drew the conclusion that you were the same person. Ridiculous. (did I spell that right???)

All I can say is to not take it to heart. I know that's hard. But you've got to remember, this is basically an anonymous internet community. People can be whoever they want to be online. Most likely half (probably more) of what is said on the Community board would never be said face to face.

You've done what you can. Don't stress over it anymore. Especially with all the rukus that's been going on over on the Community Board. Be careful out there.

I ONLY get myself in trouble when I go to the other Boards! I have DIS friends who warn me repeatedly to stay on the Cruise Meets threads. ;)

We're behind you 100%!!!

Heh - I'd pass this no problem.

1. Buy an icemaker
2. Toilet paper rolls sit on the shelf above the toilet - it's too much trouble to put them in the holder. Empty cardboard pieces accumulate until they start falling into the toilet.
3. Trick question - it's not.
4. What's a laundary hamper?
5. Dinner dishes... Oh, you mean throwing out the paper and plastic? You do that only when you need to clear space on the counter where they are piled up.
6. Fortunately you can program a universal remote that is so complex only you can use it. No problem.
7. If you can't find it, buy a new one. What's the big deal?
8. True - and better than chocolate, because she'll get all the flowers, but only 25% of the chocolates will be intact by the time of delivery.
9. Real men own a GPS
10. Prozac or Zoloft - take your pick.
11. Can't be discussed on a family forum.
12. Shopping.. companion?
13. Online calendar and reminder services are your only hope.
14. Stove.. Oven - oh, that's that thing under the Microwave that you use to hold the paper plates and plastic utensils until they pile up so high you finally throw them out? I was wondering what that was for....

:confused3

No Desiree, no shots are required for our trip. There was a discussion last year about getting a Hepatitis A vaccine just as added protection. At this point don't worry about it, they had to be started 6 months prior to leaving. Your DD should already be immunized with this.

My travel clinic recommends a flu vaccination also for cruising - just to reduce the risk of ruining your holiday if nothing else. I had mine yesterday and best of all my work covers the cost too :)

Also for Hep A, it actually takes affect after about 4 weeks, if you have the second vaccine 6-12 months later, it gives it a significant boost - potentially up to 25 years. There is more info here - http://www.vaccineinformation.org/hepa/qandavax.asp - I consider it an essential personally.

Sorry this happened to you - In my early days with the DIS I used to go to the community board but then it started getting really nasty so I stay away from that completely. It just isn't a nice place

That's too bad -- I have never been over to the community board but I have seen similar things on other boards . . . :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

G'mornin' pirate:s

IWhat a beautiful surprise I got when I opened the card...."Happy 100 days until the TOAL! I can't wait to meet you! Love, Secret Mickey" I wanted to cry. :sad1:

Awwww. How nice!

My dad's side of the family is really easy --- Everyone in the US with my maiden name is a relative. ;) I am not kidding.
And we have tons of information from the family still in Germany.

My mom's side.... not so easy! LOL! All the names in her family are really common names, too.....

Maybe we're related! I have a German maiden names as well, and we are also related to everyone we've found. No one has really spent much time searching, but we don't know when the first person came here. Family has been here forever. I think the first may have been a Hessian during the Revolution.

I actually have my great grandpa's paperwork from Ellis Island. He came over from Italy by himself at age 13.

We made it thru the ceremony! Everything went well and I am glad that is done. Below are some pictures of my DD and I at the ceremony.

How nice! You both look so happy.
2000+ cookies = free summer camp, right? It should!

And the way the CB has been lately, you may just find yourself poofed.
I'm sorry this happened to you. Quite simply, some people are jerks.

I used to frequent and post on the CB, until the great purge a few weeks ago. I only posted on 'fun' threads - stayed away from debates and controversy. I'm not there much anymore. Almost all of the fun people are gone. :sad2:

Good Luck and this is what I expect!!!:thumbsup2

Is it OK if I get a B+ or A- thrown in there? (Since that's what I'm expecting in the oncology module)

I was hoping to make my ressie around it :) No problem!

If everyone would rather decide ahead of time, I'm OK with that too.

I would still suggest another poll. I know I voted for Sunday on the original one. Now we know that DCL will let Father Mike celebrate mass that day. Although I really don't think he would turn away anyone just because they showed up in PJ's, I think another day may be better.

I learned quite a while ago that if I read the Community Board, that is all I should do.

A post, any post, on any given day, has a chance to be jumped on by some "rabble rousers" and, before you know it, you're being blamed for the Kennedy assassination or something.

We know who you are and we know how solid your posts have been. Try not to worry. You're okay in our books! :grouphug:

Mike said it better than I could. We all like you here LaTanya. Don't let others get you down.

I just had to post a great, big Thank You to my Secret Mickey. When I came home from work today,I saw a note on the top of my mailbox. Thought ok,Kev must have a package that needs to be picked up at the post office.
Well,I pulled it off and it read "David's Florist" to "Debi Huffman" left at xxxx NE 47th St. (my neighbor). As I go and change clothes,I'm trying to think "Who sent me flowers and why?" :confused3
I went over and rang the doorbell and asked if there had been a delivery for me. "Yes,some very beautiful flowers!" I told her I had no idea who they were from or what the occassion could possibly be and that it better not be Kevin spending our vacation money! ;)
What a beautiful surprise I got when I opened the card...."Happy 100 days until the TOAL! I can't wait to meet you! Love, Secret Mickey" I wanted to cry. :sad1:
I only wish that I could take a picture and post it for you all(my puter is crashed,I'm on Kev's). I will have to describe it...White Roses,Light and Dark Pink Carnations,White Daisies, and Green Cone Flowers :flower3: . I promise to take a pic and post it when I get my carp together.

Thank you again. And I love you too!!

That reminds me, when do we find out who our Secret Mickey is?

My SM sent me some flowers :flower3: and then as a total surprise, I got something for Valentines day as well!!!! :lovestruc :yay: :yay: Aren't surprises like that fun?

One thought for that Sunday, it might be a good day to try for the couple's brunch (although that title seems to exclude out solo travellers...). Kinda the go to Mass then to brunch....?
