I saw Tom answered the rest of your questions. About cancellations, they told us if the ship did not make it to port, they would refund our money. Otherwise, it's a no calcellation policy.

I see that Tom has already answered many of these, but if you sign up through this link

http://www.puertovallartatours.net/las-juntas-y-veranos-canopy-tour.htm

they have a "no port, no pay" policy and your money will be refunded if the ship doesn't make it to PV.

Thanks....we're looking forward to this excursion.

Roger, I made a correction. You had me and Laurie switched. The last person is my brother. He will also be cruising with us.

Thanks Lisa, I kind of figured that it was your brother but did not want to speculate. Looks like you all had a wonderful time.

QUESTION?

Have we in our group any CAT 1/2/3 Dissers, who can book next Sunday, I was looking at the Pirate Zone couldnt see anyone?

I think there are several of us........ We are in a Cat 3 -- dh thinks the otehr suites make too much noise -- the wood squeaking....he is a VERY light sleeper.

I thought Stace and the *girls* are in a Cat 1....or am I just confused! LOL!

REAL QUESTION ALERT!

About the trip insurance, we have never got it for any of our trips and we travel ALOT! So, I have about 1 week before we PIF and I have been looking around at different options as this is a long and expensive trip.

I looked at insuremytrip.com and there are so many options. I don't have a clue what to do.

The only thing I have been really thinking about is medical evacuation etc. We are all less than 40 and healthy and have no chronic illnesses, but I guess you never know and we are gone for a long time.

I have also read that they recommend trip insurance if you are travelling during hurricane season. Why would that make any difference? I would assume that if Disney plain cancelled the trip, we would get our money back and if they were diverted, so what. And if they made us disembark somewhere else, wouldn't they get us back to Port Canaveral? Or am I being dumb?

HELP please, any advice would be really appreciated!!!

T-****t question...

First of all, thank you so much for doing this, it is a wonderful service that you are providing to our families!

You mentioned so many different options between this board and the piratezone site. I can't believe how awesome you are!

Now for my question...

Being that I have 3 teens and one tween, they are fairly particular! So, I would love to know what color options we will have for the camis and if you will have adult and youth sizes. I think those will be the preferred items for the girls and they are so darn picky about what they wear and that it isn't 1 inch too big or small...I am sure anyone with a teen understands, right? I would like to pre order, but I want to make sure I am giving accurate info!

Thanks again!

Will the details of where to order, etc., be posted here, on the pirate zone, or both?

Thanks so much for doing this!

Here, There, and Everywhere. I might even try to badger our webmaster into sending out an email - just to be certain the lurkers / busy folks get the message.

:rotfl2: I get it. When Pre-orders open tomorrow you'll see the ladies tanks and camis, I've selected two types - but if they hate those you can go to my supplier and let me know what you want (http://www.dharmatrading.com). The colors available are white and black. I'll be dying the black items myself - using professional dyes, not that stupid Rit stuff.

If they absolutely have to have something different, contact me privately - my services in fabric art can be hired... :rotfl: That's a plan ahead thing, not a last minute thing.

Regardless, the printing is only available with a white or black outline - so you have to consider that. Anyone thinking of the DIY option needs to consider that too.

We tried to get a good pic in front of a total blue screen just to make it easier to edit us......

Unless Laurie's came out, we all got a little of the door in each shot

Most, if not all, of the "package" policies include Medical Evacuation coverage to some degree. For example, I think the basic TravelGuard package policies cover at least $100,000 medical evacuation coverage, and that's per person. However, as you considered, the risk is extremely low in requiring a medical evacuation. I think the most common claim is onboard illness to help pay for onboard medical bills and if you are quarantined to your room, the insurer will reimbursement you each day you aren't able to enjoy the trip.

I think the peace of mind if there is a requirement to cancel or interrupt the trip due to a family illness or death and be reimbursed is also worth the price of insurance. Some more expensive policies allow cancellations for more broad reasons like "work obligations" or "any reason".

Also, If you plan on renting a car at any of the ports, many of the policies will help cover damage to the rental car.

As for the hurricane coverage, if the trip is disrupted for at least 24 hours, including missed ports or early disembarkation, then travel insurance may reimburse you for those days. The most the cruiseline may offer is a discount on a future cruise or some onboard drinks to compensate for missing a port. You aren't likely to get reimbursed by DCL for missing Castaway Cay.

When you really look at the policies, even the basic ones are generally good. The differences with the "deluxe" and "basic" policies are generally:

1) the amount reimbursed in the event of a claim (i.e is it $2,500 for lost baggage or $500?) and;

2) covered cancellation/delay reasons (i.e Does it cover the Financial Default of airline? Does it pay only on death or illness? Is a work related cancellation covered? Can I cancel for any reason? What is a travel delay? Is it 5 hours, 12 hours or 24 hours?).

Boo, they stink !!

... [ed]... An update from British Airways. This is concerning the price drop since I have booked my flights their answer was,

No

I wish I could post an expanded response but basically its No, you booked it at that price, it fell, thats for new bookings, thank you for your custom.

OK

Last time I ever fly BA!

Yes, we have been discussing this on the UK Diss, and whilst I wouldn't expect a full refund, it would be nice under customer service to give a gesture, maybe extra bag allowance, that could come in handy, (or a guarantee luggage will be on the flight, very handy,) Air miles or some vouchers, but really it was just, Hard luck you booked at the wrong time, its for new bookings only.

DCL if they lowered the price would refund you the difference, if you asked, or you could cancel, I swapped a WDW package one year as free dinner plan came out, BA is in the mess it is in, as basically it doesn't put customers on the agenda, as Terminal 5 shows and gives the UK a bad name.

I've continued investigating Andrew...

.... I figured someone else must have had a similar situation and perhaps they've ALREADY developed a favorable conclusion... or otherwise. It seems BA has formalized their policy towards price matching as the BA "Price Promise". Unfortunately, it is (IMO) a JOKE as it only applies to competition undercutting thier price by MIDNITE of the day you purchase. Plus it only applies to online BA website purchases in pounds.

.... I persisted with this because we spent the day (in part) yesterday with old friends - and they were chatting about a similar rankling they had with a sour deal. We were discussing the remedies and alternatives available and IMAGINED.

In your case, I think it is worth considering that if you see a lower fare on BA you should print a screen shot of it for evidence. As this is what the BA Price Promise asks for. And although there seems to be no formal process for compensating the customer - if you had suitable evidence - and if you tried again with an alternative approach - that I think they should offer you some sort of compromise offer in compromise. Exactly as you mentioned - anything would have been appreciated. As such - I can't imagine their customer service staff being unable to respond with ANYTHING.

With United (not to tout them - as I'm sure almost every airline has similar "tools").... they've bumped us in class of service, free flight vouchers, fixed dollars off certificates, and bonus air mile awards in compensation for all manner of annoyances. You name it - we might have encountered it (as an annoyance) in our years of air travel .. almost. And we have noticed in recent years and months the airlines have definately tightened thier belts a bit.

However, as was recently mentioned - some forms of "compromise" would lead to nothing but more business for BA ... if they would only come up with something to reply with that represents a "win-win" for the customer and company. It has been cited the average unhappy customer spreads the negative word to 400-500 others ... while good news travels slow. So they really should have tried harder to compromise with you Andrew.

Frankly, it seems a shame they replied the way they did - and they've no doubt alienated an excellent customer (in you).... the sort they should bend over BACKWARDS to retain.

And now - to look for a nice cake that has NOT already been posted....

Never ask if it's over!!! Never ask what else can happen!!!! Never think you've had enough!!!

Sitting a stop light today, minding my own business, got rear ended. No injuries, although I am starting to feel a bit stiff. Could be the stress, could be the accident.
