I hope you know how to do a spread sheet??:confused3 I don't.:rolleyes1

Great time to learn, Cheryl!:rotfl2:

Seriously, don't worry . . . you don't have to do it. I can do one, or Tom is on our committee and he LOVES to do things like that (LAPLAPLAP, etc.):goodvibes

Actually...with a good wait staff.... Just tell em the first night and they will have them every night....

Last two trips my waiters got to know my odd quirks such as having a kids menu and bringing my own can of soda...

I agree, if you mention something the first night, without a tip, I think you will be set . . . in my experience you don't even have to mention it and they figure out what to do.

:thanks: :thanks: Thank you for the newsletter, Tom!:thanks: :thanks:

G'mornin' pirate:s

Hey Liz...

Currently 47 going up to 77 here in D.C.

Congrats to your DD on Major...heehee, I know exactly what her pay check will be (same as DH). I can't wait to see wedding pics. I have a nice view of National Cathedral from my office.

So yesterday morning I had this novelesque multiquote post and I was just about to hit 'send' when my computer was unplugged in the epic give-me-my-shoe battle between DH and dog. :guilty:

good evening everyone! crazy day here today...found out that dd has chicken pox!! she had the vaccination for it a few years ago...so thankfully, it is a mild case. the doc said i shouldn't watch kids for today or tomorrow though...oh bummer!! not!!! i have 2 babies that i watch that are too little to have had the vaccine yet, so it's not good for them to be here...and now i've got the rest of the week free! my kids are on spring break this week, and dd actually feels great...not itchy or anything, so we basically have the rest of the week free!

hope everyone else is having a great over the hump day!

Um, well then congratulations on the chicken pox? :confused3
Your DD might be bummed though. I had CP over Thanksgiving - in 7th grade - I was bummed that I only missed 2 days of school. I was also sicker than a dog. My stinky little brother who gave them to me missed 9 days and felt fine!

That is so cool! I really wish we had gotten a brick at WDW before they did away with them because the "Leave a Legacy" at Epcot was bombing. Hopefully they will someday bring them back.

Leave a Tomb.
I can't walk into EPCOT without thinking 'they really did ruin this place'.

Actually...with a good wait staff.... Just tell em the first night and they will have them every night....

Last two trips my waiters got to know my odd quirks such as having a kids menu and bringing my own can of soda...

Do they charge a corking fee for soda?
My server last time knew to bring the big ol' pepper mill with each course. I'm a pepper snob.

Adam is going to be taking his ASVAB test again in 30 days to see if he gets a better score. He also scheduled his own dr. appointment for next Thursday to see about his asthma. They told him he couldn't use an inhaler, but could get allergy shots. He is disappointed about this because his asthma isn't only allergy related. I halfway feel sorry for him--a little more than half way. It just isn't what I saw him doing, but he is very serious about it.

I'm certainly not an expert, so don't take this as someone who really knows, but I thought asthma was a no-go for military.

I thought DS7 might have cold weather induced asthma. DH went to the Dr. appointment with me and we had to talk about it without using the 'A' word. Wink-wink doc, if he really has it, fine, but don't write asthma in his medical record unless it is really his diagnosis. DH was worried that "Parents suspect asthma" or "mild asthma" that isn't worth treating would stop DS from joining if he wants to when he's older.

But like I said, don't take my word. DH can just be crazy sometimes.

Lorri, I have found that some of the servers are just better than others. Our last cruise was the worse we ever had--they were very nice, but didn't have it all together.:rolleyes1 I am good about giving the servers in the Cove Cafe and pool area a good tip at the beginning--they always remember.:goodvibes

Our server on our first cruise wasn't very good. Not 'Dis induced unreasonable expectation' not good, he wasn't good by any sort of fine dining standard. Assistant was awesome that cruise & both were great on our last cruise. Cute little Russian assistant had a crush on DH.

Sorry I haven't been by, and this is only a drive by... We decided to start looking for a new house - and it's sucking up most of my spare time.

Because you don't have enough going on this summer??

I hope you know how to do a spread sheet??:confused3 I don't.:rolleyes1

Once you learn that, you can move on to the more advanced "spreadsheep".

OhOh forgot to mention. DH & I came up with our fish gifts! Yay! I'm not crafty, but we have several evenings of family assembly line time in our future.

Four months isn't that long -- really:)

Four months....Ugh, Already I'm too excited to sleep, I am going to be a zombie by the time we get to August...

Bill LOVES working in the yard and our last house's backyard was beautiful!!

I've got a small front yard that needs major overhauling. Send him on down.

That's my plan too...I also plan on getting NO sleep that night. My flight out of Chicago is scheduled for 7:20 am which would mean that I would have to get up no later than 4:30 to be ready to leave around 5:15 to get to the airport. I'll be living on caffine and crashing once I get home.

We'll just give you Cheryls cell # and she can help you stay up!!!

I think on our last sailing there were slightly over 110 cabins... and kids of an age I targeted with gifts in about 70. I believe I walked 2.5 nights for a bit over an hour each nite before I was done. That took me across all decks with cabins and it was tedius.

With 150-175 cabins ... and with this project reaching ALL of the cabins ... and especially since we will be distributing EARLY with sometimes NO indication the cabin is a DIS family .... we'd have to be careful to have the correct cabin some of the time. In the past sailing I had cabins that were well marked usually. SO..... with so many cabins to reach on this sailing I can easily imagine spending 5+ hours to distribute the dry erase memo pads. Plus I need time to get organized with the memo pads (hand work of some sort).... so this might be 8+ hours including prepatory labor ... more or less.

As such, it's been good that we have a task force comprising 6 people total. This means we'll probably finish distributing everything in under an hour (on average per person) plus we'll certainly spend less than an hour each in prepatory hand labor just prior to distribution of the memo pads.... assuming we have 150-175 to distribute.

So ... YOU have 150+ things to distribute, eh? Sigh, you're gonna be up for hours. I did mine after there was nothing else to do on the ship - which means after 11PM generally. I hope to ship everything out to my TASK force mates a couple of weeks prior - so as to allow each person a chance to do some of thier prepatory/organizational work in advance of the sailing. No sense in wasting precious time on the ship eh? Even IF we have 15 nites!

Yanno... maybe we can work out a deal... if ya want a little help distributing stuff ... maybe we could cut a contract ... or accord if ya will ... and we'll assist for the right price. How many Mickey Bars do ya have on ya? And if you'd be good enuf to ship me what ya wnat me to distribute - then this gives me a chance ta ebay yer stuff so as I can have more cruisin' moola to handle gratuities and excursions! What do ya say???

If not in use, DHs scooter has a basket. As long as you return it and plug it back in, I'm sure it can be used.

Presently 55 degrees here in Sunny Longwood. High 77.

Hope everyone has a great day. DH has his bi-monthly MRI and of course again he scheduled it for 1:30. Which just kills the whole day. I will see if there are any Dollar Tree stores nearby. It usually takes just over an hour.

Joannes is also having a sale on the Fabric transfer paper under the 50% off ad. That's my next trip. They have some cute mickey prints. I have already bought a few for my FE gifts. I also need to do the FE. Problem is the sewing machine I have is one of those old Singers in the black box. This thing is older than me. But sometimes it jams :confused3 So hopefully it wilkl get me thru.

I think I remember someone saying they were fans of the show Deadliest Catch.
Just saw this in one of my emails.

Also this weekend is the annual Pie contest that is shown on the food network each year. It is in Celebration Sat and Sun. Very tempting but we'll see. Every year I say we will go but then I think of all that sugar................

Do they charge a corking fee for soda?

Nope.... The fountain soda makes me ill so if it doesn't come from a bottle or can I don't drink it. The waiters were cool with it.

i only asked for a glass with ice for my mtn dew one night (besides i couldn't even order dew on-board if i tried.) and my assnt server insisted on pouring it into a glass for me.... He was real nice.

Another weird quirk of mine is i like a glass of milk with dessert. (helps the chocolaty ones go down better:goodvibes ) They kept those coming too.

Morning all! 47 and going up into the 70's. I never found any of the can sunscreen at DT. I might try another 2 tonight.

The spreadsheep is very advanced, and it does goes baa alot!:lmao:

Sound intresting M. Nothing like assembly line time.

The same thing happened to my Emily a few years ago! One day I noticed what looked like bug bites on her chest. We have a lot of mosquitoes here in TX so I never gave it a second thought, until someone else told me that they looked like chicken pox. I took her in, and sure enough, she had chicken pox, even though she'd been vaccinated against them. She also had a very mild case, only about 12 pox total and no discomfort. Of course, DS was probably upset that he didn't get them also since he wound up having to get the chicken pox booster last year, while the doctor didn't think it was necessary for his sister to have the booster since she'd actually had the pox!

Anyway, enjoy your days off! :)

Kim

Here's the thread talking about them in DL
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1725982

On post #78, page 6, someone got an email from Disney. If they are ordered by April 30 they will be placed in August.

Here's the replica of my brick

http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/500/74963DL_Brick-med.JPG

I love that! DH and I have a brick at WDW, which we bought shortly after we were married. I wish they had given us the option to have a replica made.

I would love to get another one with all of our names on it, but I just bet it wouldn't be placed by the time we leave on the cruise. I sent for the paperwork anyway. If I do wind up ordering one, and it's not placed by cruise day, I guess we'll just have to make another trip to DL someday soon! :thumbsup2

Kim

I was wondering...

... are any of our kids still posting to the kids' thread? I posted for my girl a few days ago and since then we've had no activity. Here's a link = http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1714640&page=7

I'll get my 10ds to look at this over the weekend -- he has rehearsals tonight. But, i see you posted right after my 17dd!

10ds's Dis name is Elvis (I think)

Our families Disnames (in case you see them on the other boards)

StephT5 - Me (Mom)
Zircon -- dh (Jon)
Pirana - 17dd (Samantha)
Elvis - 10ds
6dd doesn't have a Dis name. :-)

Our older 2 have Disnames but, they won't be on this cruise --- unless 24dd can talk her dh into it!!! She's been trying since before we booked! LOL! She had a BLAST on the 10nt Southern.

it is so strange to see her with chicken pox! the doc actually said she shouldn't have as many on her as she does....i guess he thought she'd end up with less than 50 marks on her body....she had at least 50 the very first day, and broke out with more throughout the day yesterday! they do seem to be fading already today though...thank goodness! and i'm so glad they aren't on her face or arms...the kids have an appt this afternoon to get their bday pics done. LOL!

lauryn wanted to shot out a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO EMILY!! hope she has a great day!

Uhh Steph... Even if they let us ship boxes this time it will be no liquids...
I'll be bringing a stash of Dew on-board too...

It was like that in Sept '06, also....but, I have my ways. ;)

I can't believe that 4 months from now DH will be screaming at me cause I'm not finished packing yet and our plane will leave the next day...:rolleyes1

Too funny! At this house I will have myself and the kids all packed (with suitcases waiting at the door) by the day before and dh will wait until a few hours before we leave and toss some clothes in his suitcase and look 100 times better then me everyday! :rotfl: :rotfl:

He travels ALOT for business - and has for the past 25yrs -- so, packing is easy for him.

I usually start my packing lists months in advance! :rotfl2:

When did they change the rules???? :scared1: I sent 3 boxes for the 10nt!!!! Can you imagine how many I'll need for 15?????

Ok, I'll cut out the soda -- I sent about 6 12packs last time.... And a few bottles of wine.......

Just enough food for 6dd (7 in July) will take more then 1 box/20lb limit!!! She doesn't have allergies she is just a VERY picky eater!
