OMG! People astound me. :sad2:
There is a story on the news today about a woman who ran out of gas on a freeway so she left her 1 YO and 1 MONTH old :scared1: in the car while she went for gas.
They did not say how long she was gone but it must have been a while.

I hope it was sleep deprivation that caused her to do such a idiotic thing and not just the fact that she is really just an idiot!!!

Too funny! At this house I will have myself and the kids all packed (with suitcases waiting at the door) by the day before and dh will wait until a few hours before we leave and toss some clothes in his suitcase and look 100 times better then me everyday! :rotfl: :rotfl:

He travels ALOT for business - and has for the past 25yrs -- so, packing is easy for him.

I usually start my packing lists months in advance! :rotfl2:

I started my list a while ago. Stuff like pirate costume accesssories, glow sticks, my bargain sunscreen, etc., is already collecting in a plastic bin in our dressing room.

I love that! DH and I have a brick at WDW, which we bought shortly after we were married. I wish they had given us the option to have a replica made.

I would love to get another one with all of our names on it, but I just bet it wouldn't be placed by the time we leave on the cruise. I sent for the paperwork anyway. If I do wind up ordering one, and it's not placed by cruise day, I guess we'll just have to make another trip to DL someday soon! :thumbsup2

Kim

Sounds like a good reason to me

I'll get my 10ds to look at this over the weekend -- he has rehearsals tonight. But, i see you posted right after my 17dd!

10ds's Dis name is Elvis (I think)

Our families Disnames (in case you see them on the other boards)

StephT5 - Me (Mom)
Zircon -- dh (Jon)
Pirana - 17dd (Samantha)
Elvis - 10ds
6dd doesn't have a Dis name. :-)

Our older 2 have Disnames but, they won't be on this cruise --- unless 24dd can talk her dh into it!!! She's been trying since before we booked! LOL! She had a BLAST on the 10nt Southern.

I have not been able to get anyone to approve my DS for posting. I've emailed 4 different addresses and nothing. I may just create a new profile and fudge the age. I hate to do that, but I really have tried going about this the right way. Only thing is, he'll have to come up with a different user name now. He'll be upset over that.

i wish.... i never have time to do that with working and all....

One trip i was at work till midnight the night before and then went home to pack. I packed all night and then just stayed up as we left for airport at 6am anyway. I slept on the plane...

My biggest thing is just getting all the wash done so that i know every thing in the house is clean and then packing from those piles is easy....

Trying to get by with only a 6-7 day rotation and doing laundry twice but not sure if i'll have enough stuff.

i do have a spot for cruise stuff.

I want to bring my mickey "hands" but they will take up alot of space that could go for other things...

From the main board. Information on how DCL will handle the new baggage fees and they new onboard check in.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1794847

OK, here is how it will work (i just got off the phone with DCL) and you can still use DCL onboard airline check-in:

When you leave for MCO you will check your baggage at your home airport and they will charge you the $25 per extra bag when you checkin for that part of your trip. Not roundtrip

When the cruise is over and it is time to go home :guilty: Disney will only give you 1 luggage tag for each ticketed passenger. If you have any additional baggage you will need to take it with you on the motorcoach and check it in yourself when you get to MCO and delta will then charge you the $25.....

Seems too much of a hassle to me. Kind of defeats the purpose of onboard check in. But I guess DCL has no way to collect the fee.

When did they change the rules???? :scared1: I sent 3 boxes for the 10nt!!!! Can you imagine how many I'll need for 15?????

Ok, I'll cut out the soda -- I sent about 6 12packs last time.... And a few bottles of wine.......

Just enough food for 6dd (7 in July) will take more then 1 box/20lb limit!!! She doesn't have allergies she is just a VERY picky eater!

Just to clarify, can we bring wine onto the ship? Do you have to ship it or can you carry it on or put it in your suitcase?

Believe it or not, I am still flashing back to a Pirate Newsletter that said that you can't bring Alcohol on board, but then I recall that was the April Fools one. So how do you guys do it?

It should work 90 days out, did you get your Cruise planning letter it will quote the date on that, did you have one or two letters, what date was on them?

Well, we never actually got the letters - our TA just sent us the packs, but assures me that we are listed as CC members. I'll just have to try my luck, which based on todays horrendous experience with our DL tickets (I'll post later when I've cooled down), will be non existant!

You cannot have food or liquid in the box that you ship. DCL also says no liquid in your checked bag. So you can still bring on alcohol, but you have to carry it on. Might have to enlists the kid's backpacks to carry on enough for TOAL. :rotfl:

That is why I have so many kids! 5 kids=10 bottles of wine. Right? I'm not asking too much of them, am I?

I guess you will be safe as you aren't using a UK broker. Found a great deal for 2 day DL hoppers with a $10 ESEPN zone card for £63 adult ($125) & £53 ($105) child. Ordered them in February. Chased twice & they finally arrived last week minus the game cards. Called, told would send. Emailed yesterday as still not received, reply said that offer ended in 2005!!!! Several e-mails & a phone call to the operations manager later & I am no better off (although ticket prices have now risen). I have my doubts as last week their site said DL was closed, but can't prove anything & as their head office is in Jersey I have no idea about legalities. Also when the tickets did finally come, they were from Keith Prowse (a company that is usually well over priced) Annoyingly at the time, other brokers also offered this, but a couple£ more. I will not use www.365tickets.com ever again!!!!

Why don't we setup something up on the "Pirate Zone" boards. Isn't it better that way. Couple of PRO's - the kids only have an id for our group board only - not the DIS, we could have separate age groups - would make it easier for the younger ones, plus we won't have to worry so much about what the older teens are talking about. Thoughts????

Okay....just talked to DCL and she asked two supervisors. DCL has no rule on picking up two suitcases from each person in a cabin. The airlines have not notified them of any different procedures due to charge of extra bags for some peeps even if you booked airfare with DCL. I am grandfathered in and I am allowed two suitcases per person and I do have DCL transfers.:confused3 I guess the WB will be the experiment for us.:sad2:

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: That sounds yucky! So sorry!

Hopefully your time there will be wonderful to make up for the frustration!

Also this weekend is the annual Pie contest that is shown on the food network each year. It is in Celebration Sat and Sun. Very tempting but we'll see. Every year I say we will go but then I think of all that sugar................

We went to the Celebration all you can eat pie event two years ago. The kids LOVED it and ate LOTS of pie. Lisa's Gymnastic Regionals were on this weekend the past two years. We head to Huntsville AL on Saturday for her meet Sunday morning. This meet determines which Level 10 girls can advance on to Nationals in May. Please say prayers and pixie dust for her on Sunday at 8am that she competes at the level she is capable of.

My DD14 posts and loves reading, but I do think it would be better to have a thread on the DIS or Pirate Zone for different age groups...like how about matching the age groups to those that match the ship's kids clubs?

I am sure the little ones don't want to read about Prom and Homecoming and the big ones don't want to read about Winnie the Pooh. I bet we would have better communication if it were split...
