DH and DD both have what they refer to as rolling veins. He usually gives them 2 tries and then tells them to go for the hand. The nurse at his Neuro is new. She is AWFUL!!!!!! I watched her stick him 5x:scared1: and I kept walking out ready for him to read her the riot act. I was watching her twist the needle around saying "I almost got it" 2 days later this was the result

I don't have great veins either. I don't mind the poke, but the wiggling the needle in my arm sends me up the wall! I know that my left arm is better and sometimes I have to fight with them to try it first!

My tiara came in the mail today:cool1:
I spent about 5.50 plus shipping, but I like it:goodvibes

Darren sees it and laughs and goes "Where are you going to wear it?".
I tell him on the cruise on formal night and that lots of others are wearing them too.
He says "Are you sure they're not just yanking your chain?"

I tell him No, they posted pictures and everything:guilty:

When you see him on the cruise, just ask him where his tiara is;)

Doesn't he know it's what all the best dressed guys will be wearing? That and Roger's pumps!

Being one to never pass up a good pirate: t-*****, I found this at one of our local stores, on the waterfront @ Capitola:

The front has the same skull head (small) with Capitola written underneath.

Andy

Love it!
These are the ones i got. Not sure which i'll be keeping though.

I liked those too! If I get a strapless dress, I'll have to pack the duct tape! :lmao:

:cheer2: Yeah Cheryl!:cheer2: Happy pirate: !

I was wonderin' about that one. I just saw "Jumper" yesterday. I'm partial to the fantasy / sci-fi flicks and I enjoied it - in spite of it's short comings. I vaguely recall the last flick I saw before that one was National Treasure (the new one) and then "I am Legend" before that.

What'd you think of the short before National Treasure? Goofy's new Home Theatre. I thought my dad was going to pass out he was laughing so hard. That short was worth the price of admission alone.
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Sounds like a great notebook - except the video driver is not a stand alone card? Just the same it's a powerful little monster!

We don't game - don't need the mega wonderful graphics. Though I did hold out for the T9000 series CPU, DH figured a lower end CPU would work fine for us - and he's right. But, the T9000 series is a Penryn chip, and I have supported that design team in the past - so I have a soft spot for it. Yeah, yeah, techno mush. (But I got a better CPU out of it. :rotfl: )

Well, we're having weather. Boys are off school. DH found an excuse to stay home. I'm going to attempt to venture out to work.

Ours have been out of school all week for a teachers conference. Can't wait for Monday!!

My whole organization is moving next week and I had plans to pack my office today. Have I mentioned that I hate moving? At least I got a good office in the new location & I have motivation to cull the useless files I inherited when I started.

You know, I have this vauge memory of you saying that, sometime in the distant past... many times. :lmao:

They just need to use a really long extension cord like DCL does to get power out to the Magic.

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:
Oh Crash! Need an image for this one.

Send a letter to Dave Barry:
"I am so eager for you to do this that I am going to induce you with an Exclusive Limited Time Offer. If you, after reading this, get a colonoscopy, let me know by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to Dave Barry Colonoscopy Inducement, The Miami Herald, 1 Herald Plaza, Miami, FL 33132. I will send you back a certificate, signed by me and suitable for framing if you don't mind framing a cheesy certificate, stating that you are a grown-up who got a colonoscopy. Accompanying this certificate will be a square of limited-edition custom-printed toilet paper with an image of Miss Paris Hilton on it. You may frame this also, or use it in whatever other way you deem fit."

http://www.miamiherald.com/dave_barry/story/427603.html

:rotfl:  :rotfl:

OK, this piece really is funny. Don't be drinking anything when you read it.

I am very upset at work.. they cut my commission % for 2008 ( just found out last Friday) and my pay will decrease BIG Time in 2008.. just what I wasn't looking for a pay decrease.. and of course my manager didn't say a word.. nothing nada.. no explanation nothing.. no meeting before to give me some spin.. :sad2: so i am in very serious looking for a job mode... went on an interview yesterday...

pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: Good Luck in your search. Life is too short to spend your time hating where you work.

I liked those too! If I get a strapless dress, I'll have to pack the duct tape! :lmao:

:thumbsup2 Sounds like a plan.. Then i don't have to buy a good $50 strapless bra.

(and for you swart-add swabbies...going braless in one of those is not an option)

1. Toe cleavage, yes or no? Maybe, just between the big toe and the next toe.

That's the pointer toe. :)

4. (Inspired by M and her dream to be Tinkerbell) What Disney character would you want to live the life of? Not walk around the parks dressed as, live the life of. Tinkerbell. OK I know that’s M’s dream, but I’m 5’7”and not petite. I would be great to be able to fly and I love Tink’s feistiness! She’s my hero in my old age!

Mine too. I never had a thing for Tink until about 10 years ago. I just love her spunk. She has a good heart, but she can be jealous and vengeful when she wants to be. She may be small, but she doesn't take anything from anyone. I like that.

Lisa.....your answer to number 7 actually made me tear up....I am such a mush! It was so sweet!

Me too. I can't remember if I posted it here, but after our last trip in January, I came back thinking "I love going to a place where my 9-year-old still reaches out to hold my hand."

ETA: Oohh. off to Trazjay! Kristina, are you going to also arrange dinner seating by who is wearing what, so it isn't too traumatic when we all show up in the same Target dresses?

Lisa.....your answer to number 7 actually made me tear up....I am such a mush! It was so sweet!

Oh, and I though the cookie dough ice cream on CC was icky. You didn't miss anything. Next time, I'll go with plain ol' vanilla.

I missed reading the original post, but when I read it in your "Quote" I shivered. It is amazing how adults focus on the negative and it takes our kids to remind us of how lucky we really are.

Well made it through my first upper endoscopy and colonoscopy today. :cool1: Talk about you happy pills. Once they shot me with the good stuff (Demerol and Versed) I really don't remember anything. This is a good thing. Everything checked out and I am good for 5 years.
That is great news!:goodvibes
Excellent news - because my sister died when she was 32 of colon cancer, I have a colonoscopy every five years but as they can never find a vein, I have it without the sedative - not at all painful, just slightly uncomfortable.

David
I am sorry about your sister David. Alan's mom was 51 when she died from cc.

Hello my name is Lisa and I am a DIS addict. (really I am :goodvibes )

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

So I canceled our return flights on Airtran today - they had moved our flight over 4 hours (from 2 pm to 6:15pm) from when I had booked it last month - and got a full refund on the non-refundable tickets. Now I'll be waiting with baited breath for SW to open up their flights on April 22, they have a non-stop to Albany that is usually in the time frame that works for us.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for your SW flight. Flight time changes are one of the pitfalls of booking early. I am glad they gave you a full refund!:goodvibes

Hi Gang,

Drive by post - been super busy lately. Mostly fun stuff along w/regular must do chores.
Had my traditional B'day spa day w/ DD Lori & a girlfriend - then spent DGS Matt's school holidays at DL.
I know I missed lots - so   , prayers & PD to all in need.
I tried to make notes as I skimmed through - but gave up.
Have to help Matt w/homework then fix dinner.

Have a great evening all!!

Hi Chris!:goodvibes

Does anyone else watch LOST,Survivor, and Celebrity Apprentice????? Let's hurry up with this!!!!;) ;) ;)

I watch Lost

pirate: pirate: Yet????:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

It looks pretty Laurie!

So now the guys are in thongs, pumps and tiara's.....

This sounds great, being from Manhattan, I'll feel right at home . . . as though I'm at the Village Halloween parade . . . or on Christopher St. on a Saturday night . . .:goodvibes

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We enjoyed the Goofy short more than the movie! It was hysterical! National Treasure 2 was very disappointing. Not NEARLY as clever as the first one (which we LOVED!)

They just posted a local policeman was killed in Clinton's motorcade around downtown Dallas. First a prayer said for the family of the policeman, secondly- I did not even know she was here. Obama was here yesterday and you could not get anywhere near DT Dallas.

We are having a good week here! Just had to share!

Snow day today, and dh is off so we are going out to lunch since roads are pretty good now.

Kylie and I went to see Disney Princesses on Ice last night....had a great time!

(You will appreciate this one, M) Kylie passed Basic 8...she is moving onto Free Skate now!:thumbsup2 She was so excited...

And best of all.......(drum roll).......we are doing the "paid in full" dance here! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

As bad as it seems for us to be competing with another cruise, they've got it bad.

where's that brick in the toilet pic

It would seem the brick in the toilet thing has gone off the creative deep end - below is an image I ran across while searching - it's a Lego Mindstorm robotics kit adapted to apparently flush the toilet automatically! And folks think "I" have too much time on MY hands...

With all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is
worth reflecting on the death of a very important person, which almost went
unnoticed last week.

Larry LaPrise, the man who wrote 'The Hokie Pokey' died peacefully at the
age of 93. The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into the
coffin. They put his left leg in. And then the trouble started.

Shut up. You know it's funny. Now send it on to someone else and make them smile.

OK...I just got this e-mail and had to share. It's sick and twisted, so of course I laughed.

:grouphug: to both from me.
My mom was diagnosed with colon cancer at 48 and died at 49...a year before screenings are recommended.

I read Peter and the Starcatchers by Dave Barry and Ridley Peirson and it tells how Tinekrbell came into being. Of cousre it happens in the last 5 pages of the book! I'm on the 2nd book now. She pulls no punches. I read a review of the original Peter Pan book and I guess in it Tink frequently calls Peter an add!

So now the guys are in thongs, pumps and tiara's.....:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Maybe I don't want to be on this cruise...:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Hello? I never said anything about thongs!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

:thumbsup2 Sounds like a plan.. Then i don't have to buy a good $50 strapless bra.

If I were you guys, I'd leave this one alone!:lmao:

Kristina, I saw some adhesive bras at Walmart, wonder if they work? :confused3

Mike, my worst fear is if the "Hokey Pokey" is what it's really all about!:scared1:

Has anyone downloaded the Passporter cruise guide? I downloaded it but did not pay attention to what directory it was going to or the file name. I have looked everywhere and cannot find it.
Anyway- anyone know the file name?

Nah. We'll just look like a wedding party gone bad.

We enjoyed the Goofy short more than the movie! It was hysterical! National Treasure 2 was very disappointing. Not NEARLY as clever as the first one (which we LOVED!)

We enjoyed the second movie, even though it followed the formula - so it was pretty predicable. It that's the curse of being the second movie.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Congratulations!

.

I will NOT show that to DS10. He's been working on his Mindstorms project all week. He's got the older version though.

The flush fines will remain in place.
.

So how is everyone this fine day?? :goodvibes

Cloudy and icky here, but we don't get snow, so it's all good.

I did not realize it was sad. Is it appropriate for an 11 and 8 YO?

Pre-natal care does not always do it unfortunately. I received extremely good pre-natal care and still no one can tell me why I went into pre-term labor at 20 weeks.
With 2nd DD I was monitored overkill well and same thing happened again w/ no warning, but at 30 weeks instead of 20.

For those having problems with having blood taken I have found a life saver. I have donated blood regurally since I was 18. I used to dread it since it required so many sticks. Well after years someone finally told me a clue. Drink a gallon of water hours before you are going to have blood taken. It plumps up the vein by hydrating it. I cannot believe what a difference it has made!

No Reservations does reference "making love", but there is no nudity or profanity. However I really thought it was going to be more of a romantic comedy, but it was very tragic. The story has Catherine Zeta Jones having to suddenly care for her niece & without giving too much away the circumstances leading up to it are very sad & that sadness does continue throughout the movie so just be forwarned. I asked my 10 y/o DS if he thought it was appropriate & he said, "Well you've brought me up to be mature so I could handle it."

So sorry to hear of your pre-term labors.

Thanks for the good advice about drinking water. I'll keep it in mind! :thumbsup2

Morning.. well I am hopelessly lost... I try to ketchup but then another day and 10 pages goes by and WHAM I am lost again..

Anyway... happy birthday/ anniversary to all who have celebrated in the past month or 2 and hope everyone who is sick feels better...

Our news - Took Geoff college shopping last weekend, Eric's band was in a battle of the bands thing on Saturday and they have moved to the semi finals, so he will play there again sometime. The locaton leaves a lot to be desired. The club where they played was okay but it is inbetween a tatoo place and a 24 hour, Girls available place. YUCK.. just where i don't want my kid to be!!! Even the Dad of another one of the musicans who has taken the kids into the city .. was very nervous about being there too..

:sad2: so i am in very serious looking for a job mode... went on an interview yesterday...

thats all from this end of the world.. I am gonna try and ketchup a bit and read the last few pages..

That really stinks Susan! I wish you all the luck in finding a great new job! :wizard:

Yes we know about that. He got a script to get it done each month at our lab. We have a tech that never misses with him So that is covered. Thanks for posting the FYI. It does work. They don't have any trouble with my veins as they are right there.:thumbsup2

Oh I loved the first day of snow.I was scanning some pics last night and came across one of a snowman DD made. We had a tradition to make a snowman if we could on the first snow of the season. This was in 81.

Sorry to bore with old pics, but found this one of Nik on her first encounter with the mouse. Poor thing had just gotten over the flu and everytime she laughed would start coughing again. But she didn't mind as it was a magical time for her. The day before the temps were in the 30's :scared1: and all her pics had her in her down jacket with the hood up The next day it went to the 70's.

nikmickeymseimg252.jpg

Now I need DS to help fix the colors as I am totally lost with photoshop.

I love old pictures! Thanks for sharing! :thumbsup2

These are the ones i got. Not sure which i'll be keeping though.

I just saw that on the news. Hillary said she was going to contact the family & send her condolences. Very sad! :guilty:
