I spent much of Monday with a very good friend that has a very aggressive form of breast cancer. I have mentioned her before. Younger than me. 2 small kids.
It is so hard to care so much for someone in pain and not be able to alleviate that pain (emotional and physical). I will definitely include your friends in my prayers.
I had a weird "found" money story. I have worked for a very large company for over 16 years. A few years ago I received a letter from my corporate office that made no sense to me. Basically sign this form and we will release funds. To make a very long story shorter- my company had self funded and self insured insurance when my oldest DD was born. When Megan come home from the hospital after 4 months we had 24 hour Pediatric RN's just to make sure she adjusted fine.
Turns out the private nursing company did not cash almost $12,000 worth of payments my company made to them. Since it had been over 10 years, they released the funds to me.
Now for the strange part. We think the reason they did not cash the checks was because one of the nurses (we never found out who) tried to steal us blind. We worked for a long time with the nursing company to find out who it was but never did discover the culprit.
The nurses would go into my DH'd home office at night (instead of watching their charge) and made copies of checks, credit cards etc. Then she dispatched this information so we battled these charges for years. A huge mess. We feel like we earned that $12,000.
Hi Tina![]()
Happy 7th Birthday Katie!!!

(Joel110's dd)
So verrrrry cool!!! He will be so jealous about the exhibit. Someday we're going to visit the UK. He's very into the whole British thing... music, tv, etc. Plus sci-fi, stargate, star wars, etc. If you could get him a little pin or something like that it would be a big surprise for him. This cruise is his birthday present from me as he gets a real birthday this year (Feb. 29). He has some Dr. Who stuff like a remote Dalek & stuff but no one to share his interest in it. I'll tell him about your DS & they can chat on their board. Thx again!

The walking situation was what kept us from getting Abby so long.
DH and I worked away from home (darn commute) and there would have been no-one to let said pup out for lunchtime potty break.
Once DH got a job in town (well in the same town as our house), we felt better about getting a puppy because he could get home at lunchtime and dd gets home by 3'ish so pup didn't have to wait terribly long stretches. (of course it helped that we chose a larger dog with larger bladder.)
Just wanted to say, this whole issue is somewhat overblown - I think it is a sales tactic to sell more expensive TV's! The over-the-air broadcasts will no longer be available in analog, but "digital" does not have to be HDTV. There was a good post on this over in the photography forum a few days ago. The relevant info is a couple paragraphs down... http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=23108265&postcount=2
For those with cable and satalite, it is a total non issue. For those with an antenna, it may effect them, but there will be cheap converters available.

WASHINGTON (AP)Americans worried about losing their television signals when analog goes dead next year now have a new concern: the government-issued coupons for the converter boxes have a short shelf life.
Through a spokesperson, the Federal Government said that now, since it has trashed the economy, screwed up a war, offended most other nations, and even figured out a way to screw up television, it will begin to confiscate puppies and work to make balloons illegal.

Well, there goes my pirate night outfit.

Ohhh! Number one again. Detroit, the home of text messaging madness!![]()
While that was an eggs-cellent response, frankly I was eggs-pecting it.
Seriously though, you people crack me up.
Anyway, time for me to make my eggs-it before people start shouting eggs-pletives or crying fowl over my yolks. Y'all can go back to posting about your eggs-cursions and scrambling for the next.
(In case anyone was wondering, I poached some of these puns. My brain is too fried to come up with anything funny on my own.)

Or you could take Woot's point of view:
I'm worried about the dog getting walked![]()
Kelly and I will do most of the dog walking and since neither of us get home until 6:00, it is a long time to make a dog hold it![]()
When Kelly starts 7th grade (or before if we move closer to her school) she'll be able to walk the dog when she gets home from school.
Also, our cat Reebok is out of remission as far as her lymphoma![]()
She is mostly my DH's cat. She is almost 16 years old so we are glad to have had her for so long. Not sure exactly how we are going to handle the details yet.
Not totally ruling out a dog picking us out of course![]()

Learn to spell her name! It's Keira!
By the way, did you see "Atonement"? I thought it was quite amazing. Shame she and James didn't get nominated for acting Oscars.
Hey do you think of getting a small breed dog and training them to go indoors? It's easy !!! Dante goes in a dog pan with non-print paper.
Hi Tina: I don't wan't to beat your record but 3 storms ago it took us 3 hours and 45 mon. to get home !!!! I left my car at work and Chuck picked me up and we thought we left early because of bad weather. 3:50.........worst time, everyone else had same thought !!!
