Sounds beautiful:goodvibes

Kelly and I want a dog in the worst way. We have to wait at least another year for the timing to be right.

Timing to be right!:lmao: Sorry, Laurie, but it's just like children -- if you wait for everything to be right before you have them, you never will . . .

Of course I am a bad person to consult with -- we had no intention of getting Linus, we were in a pet store getting food for Belle and a local shelter had puppies on display. My oldest became enamored of this little ball of black fur and I made the "mistake" of letting her take him out to hold . . . he came home with us that day and he's the best impulsive decision I ever made . . .the funny thing is that she picked him out but he picked me -- so he is definitely my dog, and Belle is the girls' dog.

I'm worried about the dog getting walked:confused3
Kelly and I will do most of the dog walking and since neither of us get home until 6:00, it is a long time to make a dog hold it:rolleyes1
When Kelly starts 7th grade (or before if we move closer to her school) she'll be able to walk the dog when she gets home from school.

Also, our cat Reebok is out of remission as far as her lymphoma:sad2:
She is mostly my DH's cat. She is almost 16 years old so we are glad to have had her for so long. Not sure exactly how we are going to handle the details yet.

Not totally ruling out a dog picking us out of course;)

.... You have heard they are gonna switch over to ALL high definition broadcast. So you're gonna need a HDTV supposedly after February of 2009. If you watch TV off an antenna then this means you'll need a HDTV with an ATSC High Def tuner AND an antenna that picks up UHF channels well because high def broadcasts come over the UHF specturm. Alternatively, if you use cable for your signal then it might mean PAYING for HD service until it becomes universal - at which point I assume the cable TV companies will restructure their prices.

Knowing all this I still bought a non-HD TV because it was a spare TV intended primarily for DVD use. AND.. it was dirt cheap with HDS inputs,m a 16:9 rectangular screen and NEAR HD resolution.

At any rate - I'm sure your TV salesperson took you through most of the details and options.

Just wanted to say, this whole issue is somewhat overblown - I think it is a sales tactic to sell more expensive TV's! The over-the-air broadcasts will no longer be available in analog, but "digital" does not have to be HDTV. There was a good post on this over in the photography forum a few days ago. The relevant info is a couple paragraphs down... http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=23108265&postcount=2

For those with cable and satalite, it is a total non issue. For those with an antenna, it may effect them, but there will be cheap converters available.

I had forgotten about your cat . . . sorry she is out of remission . . .:flower3:

Yes, the dog walking is an issue. Particularly when they are puppies they just can't hold it that long.

Thanks Andrew for the affirmation of...

MY INNOCENCE!

< "wink" >

To use ANDREW as a character witness is really scraping the bottom . . . I would say having your innocence attested by Andrew makes it most likely that one scoundrel is covering for another!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Actually my response has been very carefully edited by one Crash!

The word 'not' edited out

You know - I think I might be persuaded to hunt down a picture of Andrew for a price???? :rolleyes1
Not the one of our snog though please!
Get me a good picture and I'll file it - maybe use it - and I'll be indebted to you to the tune of your choice of a) a Mickey bar or b) a mess of Recess Peanut butter cups.

I really gotta go now.

Not so much, but I always find that complaining always makes me feel worse and sorry for myself, so I'll just state that

"I'm not dead yet"

:sad1:

Thanks for asking, though!:lovestruc

Of course we could always rely on you, Tom!

And to think Andrew is sleeping through all this:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

There is a cat 4 on WB available now. Looks like most that came up available at 90 days were snatched up.
For those curious; 2 A, 2 C, no air, but ins was $10,521.

FWIW, I was checing the DCL website constantly on Sunday and several times a day since then and I didn't see any other categories open up. Also, that Cat4 has been sitting there available since last week when they also had a 12 and 10 for a short period of time. It makes me wonder if they didn't get as much attrition as they anticipated.

Anyone else think this is hilarious? I wonder if he'll spew all over his monitor when he wakes up? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

HOWEVER, I will state that I'm glad it wasn't me who found the picture - hear that Andrew - I just discussed yet - (although only because I haven't found one yet! ;) )

Crash - Andrew can't blame you for this one! :rotfl:

Oh yes I can,
Remember I am not here all day so, didn't see this till teatime!

Andrew have you had one of these? I haven't read about anyone having one.

This is a quote from a yahoo DCL group that I'm on:

I remembered our favorite dessert which a lunchtime waiter turned us onto. She called it "mickey fully loaded". It was a mickey bar in a bowl smothered with chocolate sauce, sprinkles, marshmallows, caramel sauce and anything else you could want. It was so good that we got it at a few more meals. Whenever a waiter asked for our dessert order we would all start chanting "Mickey Fully Loaded!".

My Son Stephen got something like that, not sure if it was called that, but he got all of the trimmings, Yes, now as I am not under 16 stone, I am not allowed!:thumbsup2

Or thier system is not as efficient as they need it to be....

for example, maybe it can't handle the rush for big booking days
or can't handle large demand for 90 day excursion requests....

so maybe its not real good at processing and relisting cancelled rooms?

I also wonder if they need to reconcile the number of kids on board (isn't there an overall limit on # kids they can handle?) and rooms per category (if they have 50 more people in Cat xx than they have rooms for, figure where to put them before they can open up excess)

The walking situation was what kept us from getting Abby so long.

DH and I worked away from home (darn commute) and there would have been no-one to let said pup out for lunchtime potty break.

Once DH got a job in town (well in the same town as our house), we felt better about getting a puppy because he could get home at lunchtime and dd gets home by 3'ish so pup didn't have to wait terribly long stretches. (of course it helped that we chose a larger dog with larger bladder.)

Would you include my DS12 in a non-bar talk.... he's really into Dr. Who & would love to talk with anyone who is into the show. Most of his friends have no idea what he is talking about. His drink of choice is usually lemonade or sprite. :goodvibes

Penny

Penny, I and my two kids would love to talk Doctor Who to him, he will share the kids club with Alice who is 12,

We have booked to go to a Doctor Who exhibition in London's Earls court in April, just after Easter, and if he wants something, ( maybe not a full Tardis) let us know just before the cruise and we will see what we can do.

At Marks and Spenser's, a quality supermarket chain here, they now have Dalek and Tarid Easter eggs out with sounds!

Martha from Doictor Who, makes her debut on Torchwood on BBC3 tonight

hey everyone! nasty weather here...making me crazy!! well, i'm already a little crazy...but this weather adds to it!
hope everyone is having a great over the hump day!!

Oh yes, their system is terribly inefficient!

I guess what surprises me more than anything is how terribly inefficient they really are at this. It's not like they are some mom and pop or small concern, this is a large corporation with who knows how many 1000's of employees and some of their job descriptions are so specific as to indicate someone will only work on analysis of a specific store or movie license. Yet they cannot seem to get this aspect of their business together. Yet again, perhaps they feel they don't really have to - it isn't like they haven't experienced these problems before and yet we still keep coming back to them for more.
