OMG! 3 hours to get home tonight.
I travel a whopping 6 miles by car, along your typical major surface street (shopping centers, fast food, etc.) Well, that road was closed tonight due to an accident - both directions. AND all the other routes were insane AND the police weren't letting anyone turn left anywhere. SO I went several miles out of my way in order to turn left, which was necessary to get home. AND it was my night to pick up the boys since DH has class. After-school care closes at 6:15. I got there at 7. And all this before the freezing rain started. DH just went back to his office after class. He may just sleep there.
SO instead of a quick dinner and heading to the gym, we had pizza rolls and chicken fries & now I'm on the couch in my jammies.

Why, oh why, do people live here!

I want to go home.

You must get off at the Huntington Metro station? We have stayed at the Days Inn on Rte 1. It is very congested there, I don't know how people there do it. Here in MI we have gotten more congested the past 20 yrs and it drives me nuts! Of course we have faster signal lights here, not the slow traffic lights like in VA.

My 25 minutes ride took me an hour last night!

:rotfl2: Was watching the news last night and they said Chicago was voted the 6th most miserable place to live.:rotfl2: Now don't hate the messenger folks. The reasons given were weather, taxes, crime

So who made the top five???????

Yikes . .that does not sound encouraging. I wonder if, after all this, that Disney could have overbooked?? Although they were trying to sell some of cabins earlier . . .ummm . .. I'm with you on the upgrade part!!!:dance3::dance3:

From what i gather....they still are overbooked....

According to little birdies anyway......

I casually mentioned to said birdies what it would take to get me to give up my ressie. (Two one week cruises in a cat 7 or above during peak time (ie xmas))

Not that i'm quitting you guys just yet......

I would give up just about everything except the Panama Canal part. That was the one main draw for me of the TOAL. (Well that and hanging with you guys)

My advice to you with your friends, is to offer to help -- but don't leave it at that.

Boy, I can second that recommendation.

Last year when my Dad was diagnosed and losing him - I would have loved someone just showing up and doing stuff. Eg. Just deal with the kids, laundry and meals. When you are going thru something like what your friend is going through - you just can't think properly. The littlest amount of help on your part will be a huge amount of help on your friends part. Thinking of you today.

o.k you asked.............:rotfl2: NYC, Philly, Detroit:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

OK, good! I would hate for us not to make the top five! So why do people keep moving here to the point to where there is new construction -- generally a huge condo -- on every other block????? Masochists like me, I guess :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

That would be Mrs Fish to Tia ...LOL

You'll get this one, Tina . . . don't rush, because the rate of posting is much slower these days . . .

I'm starting to get nervous about this and might just go ahead and pay in full early. I was thinking about dragging it out in hopes of an upgrade because they've assigned all the other cabins. But, there is no way I'm giving up this trip - it would have to be some really sweet offer.

There is a cat 4 on WB available now. Looks like most that came up available at 90 days were snatched up.
For those curious; 2 A, 2 C, no air, but ins was $10,521.

Hey Tax peeps.....

How long do i have to keep old tax records for......?

I thought it was 3 years but then 2nd guessing myself that it's 5 ..

Forever - I tried to figure out the real rule once and gave up.
Seriously, I have all of mine. I can usually cram everything into a 10x13 envelope.

Hello All, :wave2:
Not sure what to say except it's been way too long and I missed you all. I just wanted wanted to post a ' Hello "

:yay: Hi Tina!

Yup. I really like the area we are in. It is our away from the craziness. Unfortunately we have to get there via US-1.

Hi Laurie! Linus was a rescue puppy, like Roger's recently acquired family member, but he's definitely mainly retriever . . . looks like a solid black golden retriever (the longer hair but solid black). He's about 80 pounds and a real sweetheart.

I was thinking the same thing about chaos and kids -- imagine me with 3 kids and 2 dogs!

Sounds beautiful:goodvibes

Kelly and I want a dog in the worst way. We have to wait at least another year for the timing to be right.

Stace...

.... You have heard they are gonna switch over to ALL high definition broadcast. So you're gonna need a HDTV supposedly after February of 2009. If you watch TV off an antenna then this means you'll need a HDTV with an ATSC High Def tuner AND an antenna that picks up UHF channels well because high def broadcasts come over the UHF specturm. Alternatively, if you use cable for your signal then it might mean PAYING for HD service until it becomes universal - at which point I assume the cable TV companies will restructure their prices.

Knowing all this I still bought a non-HD TV because it was a spare TV intended primarily for DVD use. AND.. it was dirt cheap with HDS inputs,m a 16:9 rectangular screen and NEAR HD resolution.

At any rate - I'm sure your TV salesperson took you through most of the details and options.

The two year old one that died already was a Samsung 52" HD with all the bells and whistles. The problem here is the dust and the fact that no one told me to have it serviced and cleaned once a year.

Decided to take a chance and go with something "new"...to us, anyway.
We got the Vizio LCHD. Will have to see how long the LCD lasts and how we like it.
It's ready for when and if broadcast starts in with blu-ray HD.

Probably already been answered, but it's 7 years.

I think Stacey meant that you could use a cancelled check from payment of the PO Box to prove that you owned it.

Yes, that's what I meant. Thanks for clearing that up...I should have been more specific.

You can still get offered an upgrade even if you are paid in full. Any upgrade we've ever had was always after we'd been fully paid.
