Apparently chatty threads with large post counts were causing the DIS to grind to a halt, so they locked the old thread (it will return in smaller locked versions we are told) and now when we get to about 250 pages/3750 posts, they lock the thread and we go to next # in series (this is #3)

Wow :scared1: guess I missed alot. So only 3 pirate: runs in a series?:rotfl2: feel like I am talking about baseball. ( Which I know nothing about )

Shhhhhh! Don't mention pirate: runs with the Capt. around......:lmao: :lmao:

The pirate: runs have been very subdued, just regular chit chat

I am still waiting for my first one swabbie.:rolleyes1 Funny how you just mention pirate: and he shows up huh?:rotfl2:

I saw the update this morning. What a cute dog:goodvibes What kind of dog is Linus ?

Isn't that true of kids too:lmao:

Hi Laurie! Linus was a rescue puppy, like Roger's recently acquired family member, but he's definitely mainly retriever . . . looks like a solid black golden retriever (the longer hair but solid black). He's about 80 pounds and a real sweetheart.

I was thinking the same thing about chaos and kids -- imagine me with 3 kids and 2 dogs!

He looks just like our Buddie.

We were rooting for the beagle too - we have two, the aforementioned Buddie and Cinder who is mostly black and tan.

I remember that you have beagles!!!!! :goodvibes

Hello All, :wave2:
Not sure what to say except it's been way too long and I missed you all. I just wanted wanted to post a ' Hello "

Tina! How are things going??????:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

My advice to you with your friends, is to offer to help -- but don't leave it at that. When a family is going through something like that, they don't often think to ask, or feel uncomfortable asking, for help even from people who have offered. Just do things for them -- or call and ask if you can bring over pizza, or pick up their child from school, or do their lawn or laundry -- be specific. I can tell you from experience that something like this will be appreciated more than flowers. And don't forget about them once the initial crisis is over . . .

VERY good advice. While I've been dealing with all my stuff these last few months, I've had a lot of people saying 'just let me know how I can help'. Well, bringing dinner over, mowing the lawn, doing dishes, that all needed to be done and I had no energy to do it myself but I never asked anyone to do it. People wanted to take me out to eat, I didn't want to socialize, I would have much preferred a casserole or something dropped off. I would mention to a few people that my house needed to be cleaned or my dishes needed to be done, but I didn't outright ask and no one picked up on my hinting at it.

So, don't just offer to help, offer something specific. Don't wait to be asked, just think of something that would help you if tables were turned, and do it for your friend.

EXACTLY . . . I wish I lived nearer to you, Monica, so that I could help . . .

Hi Julie: I am finally having my foot surgery next Thursday and having a cyst removed next Friday. I will be glad when it's over with !!!

My childhood friend had one and he would always sound off. My Boston does that too all the time. Love a dog with spunk!!!!

Is Liz on vacation? haven't seen her postings lately so here goes

Currently 68, high 74, low 44 and severe thunderstorm watch today.

Crash, let us know how your friend is doing.

I was just thinking last night that I haven't seen Liz lately.

Unfortunalely not so easy. The check is from 2004. I haven't had that box since 1998 or so. I remarried in 2000. It is from MetLife. Says it is a dividend and a stock split. It may have been part of the divorce settlement that I didn't even know about. Who knows but if they want to give me $500 I will take it.:cool1: Sounds like cruise money to me. I am sure by the time I get it I will probably be back from the cruise, but it has been 4 years already so what does it matter how long it takes as long as they will give it to me.

I think Stacey meant that you could use a cancelled check from payment of the PO Box to prove that you owned it.

Hi Monica: Although I feel out of the loop? I have been thinking of you. I may not know all that has been going on and that's o.k just know I have been thinking of you and you & your family are in my daily prayers.:wizard:

At any rate, I was going to say nothing for a few days - but earlier today we recieved news that a good friend of ours - roughly our age - one who had surgery a year or so ago to remove a kidney (I think) due to kidney cancer... well, we noticed she had not been hanging around with us much in the past 2-3 weeks... and today we found out that tomorrow she will go in for surgery - they found a cancerous growth in the brain and this is .... bad. I'm not feeling all so hot or happy go lucky today. .

:grouphug: So sorry to read about your friend, Tom. Prayers all around for Jean and her family and yours as you go thru this difficult time. Sure puts life in perspective and lets you know what is really important in life. Family and good friends. :grouphug:

Hi Julie: I am finally having my foot surgery next Thursday and having a cyst removed next Friday. I will be glad when it's over with !!!

I know you will be glad when it is over with . . . sometimes you just have to tough it out through the hard times one day at a time and try to keep hope that the brighter days are still ahead of you . . .:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Yikes . .that does not sound encouraging. I wonder if, after all this, that Disney could have overbooked?? Although they were trying to sell some of cabins earlier . . .ummm . .. I'm with you on the upgrade part!!!:dance3::dance3:

Well there have been openings since that fateful day last year & judging by the numbe of WB openings as pay day approached, maybe they've been hedging their bets?
