Hey we got a room at the Doubletree for the 16th:goodvibes
I thought the AAA rate was better (or the same) as the group rate though:confused3

I don't know what the group rate would be..... ???
I know that there is a rate listed with our cruise info....I think around $139 or something....but that's the hotel's rate for a standard room. Didn't think that was the group rate. So far, unless we had ten rooms, the hotel wasn't offering a rate to my TA.

Did you notice your error?

Anyway enjoy DL.

Gee...

... I can't tell what I did wrong? No misspellings - and the only thing is a faint potential "morbid" implication. Otherwise - I must not be seeing something that's obvious to others.

At any rate - last nite was pretty good - we picked up the neighor girl 1 minute late - in part because just before we were to leave our dog got loose without being seen departing - and he was without his harness so I was scrambling to find the critter - and fortunately neighbors who are dog friends recognized him - RAN HIM DOWN and brought him home. SO - anyways, it was nice at DL if not moderately crowded. It seems two local school districts had monday (today) off for some reason; and the Socal Annual pasholders were blacked out next weekend - leaving this weekend as a good one to visit the parks. Thus, we had crowds that were more intense then usual.

Aside from that - however - the girls did a couple rides, saw a parade, had cotten candy, pizza & turkey leg, hot coca, and were photographed with Minnie Mouse. On the down side, our little guest rode Space Mountain with my daughter (who loves Space Mountain) .. and she was a bit shaken at the end of the ride. I carried her away while she had a few tears - and I felt bad for not having detected or screened her better prior to riding that. I DID tell her it was a dark and fast roller coaster like ride - and she insisted on following Julianna onto the ride. Oh well... when I reminded her we could do some last minute shopping at the Star Wars gift store next the Space Mountain exit - her attitude cleared up immediately. Amazing how this same thing happens when my spouse is in a huff with me (usu. incomplete "honey-do" chores, laundry, whatever) and I suggest we should go shopping... and her attitude clears up quickly too. ;) Who would have figured my spouse and the 6 year old girl would behave the same?

What time does DCL begin taking on-line reservations for Palo, Spa, Shore Excursions?

So my offer, 10% of £6 million, your offer, 20% of £6, +FREE zip line tour for everyone in your cabin AND a nice tasty Mickey bar ... with sprinkles!

Me, I'd take 10% of 6 million over 20% of just plain old 6 any day

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Oh so they changed it ??? That means us west coasters can start a 9pm instead of 12 m like before ..

Its going to be a nightmare :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I still have to figure out exactly what time that is for us in AZ. We don't do daylight savings.
And yeah, it isn't 3:00 am Eastern any more. Whew.

This could be too much fun.....

Semi-Tink could be S TINK

I'm supposed to be in Chicago when the bookings open up, I'll have to try and remember to do it at 11 pm and NOT 12.

With so many folks looking over things it's tough ta pull a FAST one...

Or, in MY case... to make an INNOCENT typing mistake... ;)

OK... Cheryl, lets' make that 20% of 6 million + the frills previously mentioned.

Now, if you'll excuse me - I gotta run my 10 year old car over to Firestone. I found a $25 off coupon and confirmeed they want an unadjusted charge of $159 to do my BRAKES... rotor turing included. However, I expect to get hit for premium brake pads (extra cost) and a suggestion I could use new rotors (extra gouging... not onto my old rotors but into my checkbook!).

TTFN... I shall return unless I get pressed into hard labor at Firestone to pay off the otherwise exorbitant final repair bill. In which case I'll return after my brief stint at semi-indentured servitude. :confused3

So wuz i a "mark" fer falling fer da $25 off "com'on in" coupon deal?

Yeah, we have done both on different cruises. One we did the tux rental. It was great not having to pack them!! The other was just sports coats . .. in fact, we planned to SKIP formal night in the dining room and just eat at Topsiders that night. Our server convinced us that a coat and tie was just fine for formal night (and a longer dress for me, but definitely NOT formal). We were amazed how well we fit in. We were also a bit surprised at the number of folks that TOTALLY ignored ANY dress code.

I'm planning to rent the tux for DH and to find suitable suits for DS13 and DS11. But it is worth considering the rental for the kids verses the cost of the suits . . ummm

Off to the gym to work out .. .gotta meet with my new personal training (I just joined the gym last week). I am determined to be FIT in time for our cruise ;)

Have a wonderful day!

There was a family at the table next to us whose 11 year old son had on a t-shirt and shorts on formal night. His parents were dressed "cruise casual" that evening. And it wasn't a case of lost luggage or anything. They were actually a very nice DISer family we met. But just not into dressing up. It didn't bother me at all, but I admit, I was surprised to see them dressed that way on formal night

Seriously, there will be many people who won't get it. My plate is DIZNYFAN and it is in the "been there, done that, going back" WDW plate holder. I can't tell you the number of people who come up and ask me which NY team I am dizzy for.

I want mine to say SEWWHAT but someone already stole... I mean has it.

:lmao:
You guys are funny. I think I will have to opt for the Tink shirt and kid's wings, though.

A costume covered in lightbulbs is a packing challenge that I'm just not ready for.

I am really sorry I am not joining you guys now, just so I could observe this!!!

I agree...they really need to stagger the traffic on the website because it just can't handle it. I think their thinking is they are going to sell out all bookings for excursions & Palo even if the website crashes so there is no incentive to improve the procedure.

why oh why can't they fix it before it's our turn? :confused3

I get the 'ole "muffin top" when I try to wear those things

These spanx roll AND cause muffin top? I'm not sure they're as wonderful as Oprah made them sound hmmmm?

Awww, what a dissapointment. After we split up, Julia found the Verizon store and proceeded to beg for a phone (again). UM, I think Dad already said no, but nice try

They're good for that aren't they? I was the one dead set against getting her another phone. She didn't have the first one very long & I don't think we're doing her any favors by constantly allowing these upgrades. But she again had a perfect report card & DH felt we needed to reward her. How about a high five & a nice job kid!

I must say this is a HUGE improvement on the older system. The first time we cruised, it was a MAD DASH to get in line to get your PALO reservations and then to rush to SPA for reservations (or vise-verse). I'm all for staying up in the middle of the night in my PJs and attempting to get my PALO reservations. It sure beats using up precious time onboard to do it.

I am looking forward to Disney taking another step into the 21st century and allowing us to book as we pay. The challenge for them may be having things ready to go far enough in advance. Heck, we still only have a guaranteed room and NO ROOM ASSIGNMENT yet. Maybe they are waiting for us to pay in full . . .LOL

Have a super day!

I don't want to burst your bubble, but from what I was reading on the WB, many of them still only have GTY & they are paid in full.

Oh that's just sad! :lmao:

Sorry your DD's friend got scared, but that last sentence just cracked me up! :rotfl2:
I am sure that will be lots of men and boys with sportcoats instead of tuxes. We are renting them for the cruise to save luggage space.:)

We are doing tuxes only because DH bought one so I need to get DS one too. It costs more to rent one than it does to buy one at Syms. They will be wearing them semi-formal night, formal night & any other night they can get some wear out of them! ;)

OTH we made a family decision to skip the whole pirate gear & just wear pirate t-s***. Otherwise we have to pack hats, boots, etc. & we'd need another suit case just for the costumes. We're just not that into it. pirate:

I want mine to say SEWWHAT but someone already stole... I mean has it.

All plates Disney related are taken here in AZ and I've tried every combination I can think of.

I had wanted ....years ago....OH WELL....since I say it all the time. But someone stole....I mean, has it, also. ;)
