I was always been partial to the Mill Basin Bagels on Avenue N past Ralph Ave. Okay, I lived right by there, but they were so good. Mmmmm...

I don't think I know anyone who went to Franklin K. Lane. I had friends who went to Midwood, Murrow and Dewey.

Sorry the best bagels and bialys were on Coney Island Ave off of Ave U.

In front of me is four large empty suitcase's, I was hoping if I look at them long enough, and think of the cruise, they will fill themselves of the clothes I wish to take, but the Suitcase Fairy seems to be on strike.

You are so very welcome my friend...

I just hope that they are able to get the helicopter up for you guys... we followed a navy sub through and they couldn't fly it...

So... when you all get YOUR picture... send it on over for us to see!!!

BTW... if you want it... get to Shutters ASAP... they were running out quick and quite a few people didn't get it. If you see it grab it... they only printed so many... ;)

They should be able to make more prints.

Last year another cruiser and I wanted a copy of the same picture. They were able to print another copy and it was available the next day.

Hi Everyone!

Sorry I haven't been around much the last few days - we have been in major pack/get ready/organize stuff mode. We leave on Thursday night so the goal for the weekend was to be at least 80% done with packing and preparation for travel. I think we are doing fairly well. We have 5 bags to check, but 4 of those are smallish, mid-size bags (bigger than carry-ons but not by much) and 1 garment bag. At the moment the carry=ons are just 1 actual carry-on size suitcase and the backpack with all the cameras and electronics. I'm pretty sure we could have fit into 4 checked bags (1 each + garment bag) but DH hates using the 1 large bag we have since it seems to always push the weight limit - since we are grandfathered to 2 bags each (total of 6) we did it his way.

I think I'll have a $$$ ton of stuff on my back! :lmao: That backpack currently has my XTi (DSLR) with 2 extra lenses and external flash, DH's new point & shoot (Canon SD780), Our old point & shoot (Canon A80) and its underwater housing (it's flash isn't working right, but we'll just turn it off and use it for just the beach/underwater stuff), AND DS9's point & shoot that he bought with his own money in June ($75 camera). There is also our little video camera ( Canon Elura 100) and DH's binoculars. Add the spare batteries, chargers, memory cards, video tapes, etc. and it starts getting a little heavy :rotfl:

We finally found shoes for DS9 (he suddenly outgrew all his athletic shoes last weekend) - shopping for shoes for him is MORE frustrating than shopping for me! I also dragged him around and I picked up all the stuff on the shopping list for the trip. We finally managed to find where Walmart hides the door stops! They came in a 3-pack, so we'll have extra if anyone needs one

I'm still so pleased that DS9's teacher for this coming year contacted us! That has taken a huge load off my mind. He is missing the first 5 days of 4th grade. Although I think that seeing the Panama Canal and Cartegena outweight that, it is still good to know that the teacher is happy to work with us. DS and I are going in on Wednesday morning to meet her, put his supplies in his desk, etc - probably what most of the 1st day will be anyway so it is more like he is missing 4 (definite rationalizing going on here :lmao: )

At least DS won't miss any school for this year's Xmas break trip with my parents. I don't know if I posted this before or not, but each of the last couple years they have taken him on a trip right after Christmas. They usually get back a couple days after New Year's and he doesn't miss school. 2 years ago, it was a trip to Mexico's Copper Canyon mostly by train. Last year was a "winter adventure" trip to Minnesota where DS found out that he LOVES to zip line and came home and talked DH into taking him zip lining in PV. THIS YEAR, they are actually taking him to Egypt! They will be traveling between the major sites on a Nile cruise. My kid is getting to be far more traveled than I am! (I think I am jealous)

I better get some sleep, it is going to be a busy week both at work and finishing up the packing here at home.

Pamela

If you are looking for a break from the pool. The little restaurant beside our hotel (BW Park Place) - I think it's called Capt. Kids or something like that. They have hard ice cream - quite a few flavors. Nice afternoon break - ice cream cone time.

Ice cream is safe, but I wouldn't eat anything else there. YUCK!!! DS begged me to try it one time. I had read the reviews and knew it was to be avoided but he really wanted to. Even he was sorry he insisted.

Hi! I was wondering if we know the times and location for the Masses that Father Mike so generously offered to celebrate. If I missed this, please forgive me. I must've missed them. I am looking forward to seeing you all. Thanks!

Hi all. We registered too late to make it into the directories, but please add us to yours. This will be our 5th Disney cruise. We are in room 6571. It is myself, Sal and Janelle (35), Mariah (9) and Sal (5). We look forward to meeting you all!

I did mine in Microsoft Word. I'll assume that you have that since most people do.

Let me give you some quick step-by-steps. Practice a couple and it comes real easy then.

1. Go to Word
2. At the top menu, click View>Toolbars>WordArt
3. On the WordArt tool bar, click the left hand icon (Insert WordArt)
4. Choose one of the styles and click "OK"
5. Type in text and click "OK"
6. Right click on your text and click on "Format WordArt"
7. Click Color>Fill Effect>Picture
8. Select a picture file from your drive and click "OK"
9. You should see the picture in the letters of your WordArt.

Good luck . . . and have fun with this. I know that I am!

Here is one that I made for one of my friend's sons who worked in the College Program at Disney last year. He was a CM at the Nemo ride at EPCOT. It worked out perfectly since his picture formatted to the "L" in Kyle.

Definitely addicting. Can I ask what font you used???

Thanks. We hope to leave at 5am and the flight is at 8am. We fly to Atlanta and then to LAX. (At $99 one way it was definitely worth going to HPN instead of Newark.)

I was eyeing that flight from Kayak for quite a while.... Went to for the non stop on Virgin Atlantic from JFK for 149.

Where'd you get the pics on the sides? Those are so cool!

I got them from a disney pins web site. they are the pins from the WB repo. Thats why there is no Cartagena pin.

Sil did you notify your credit card you will be traveling???:lmao:

Yes, called Chase for both my Disney and Freedom card.

And BTW, Chase did start charging me interest on the TOAL due to the late payment 2 months ago...

Sorry the best bagels and bialys were on Coney Island Ave off of Ave U.

Bagels - Hot Bagels on Rockaway Parkway in Canarsie
Bialys - there is this place on the lower east side... what is the name... it was a throw back kinda place.

Me first:yay:
We're right next door:upsidedow

You got it neighbor!:thumbsup2

ARRRGGGHH

Whats wrong with the DCL website????? Trying to make sure I filled out all my stuff online.......Its just not moving!!!!!!!!

Just finished my magnets :yay:
One more thing off the list

Need to get money from bank----Thanks to whoever it was who posted about getting the $1's and other small bills---I would have had all $20's

Have to remember to call my insurance company tomorrow....need to get approval for an early refill on my meds.....I'll run out 2 days befor I get home and usually they dont allow refills until 3 weeks after the last one.

Thanks for the reminder. Printed all my other confirmation stuff today and forgot to print the DCL contract.

UGH...another thing added to the list.

Haven't started packing yet. That's on tomorrow's list. Tonight I'm going to print door magnets.

Still trying to decide whether or not to leave Wed night and drive half way or just get up super early Thurs and do it. I found that Super 8 has a special right now, every night at 8pm EST the first 800 rooms booked will go for $8.88 anywhere! It started last night and runs for a few weeks. Found out about it too late last night and wasn't home tonight. So I'll try tomorrow and Tues. There's a Super 8 that we've stayed at before that is a little over half way to DL for us. So if I get the great rate, then we'll definitely leave Wed.

I'd just like to say thanks a lot, because I just spent the last I don't know how many minutes doing this:

lol, just kidding. Thanks for sharing how to do that. You made my day!

I'm gonna scream!!!

No DCL website is telling me either someone else in our room or someone we are linked with is in my cruise plans ???????

Um We are not linked with anyone and DH is sitting on the couch watching the Remade Halloween movie so its not him ?????

Did you link for dining with the group?? If so, then you are linked with 200+ other cabins.

Several disturbances in the Atlantic Ocean bear close watching over the next several days as the tropics have begun to bubble, but are not yet boiling.

Convection with a low pressure center about 1000 miles east of the Windward Islands has become a little better organized. Further development of this system is possible over the next few days as it sweeps westward at 15 to 20 mph.

Another disturbance, not quite so well organized, is located several hundred miles west-southwest of the Cape Verde Islands, and is following in the wake of the low east of the Windwards. This second system could also show some development over the next couple of days.

Finally, a large cluster of thunderstorms and downpours emerged off the coast of Africa Sunday and is now south of the Cape Verdes. This disturbance, too, bears watching as it plows westward.

Here is after automating... I didn't automate the entire thing. I like to be able to decide if auto levels or colors does a better job, and maybe sharpen or do other tweaking :)

See the itty bitty turtle?

We got to swim with some turtles 2 cruises ago, they sure are cool.

Wow, I finish (I think I am finished) packing and go to visit family to go over taking care of our dog and you all keep going on this thread. It is great to see how you all care about the personal lives of people that you have met online on DIS.
Really great bunch of folks on this thread:goodvibes

Anyhow...she has gone from a sluggish, quiet, cuddling little girl back into having a little bit of energy to bug her brother. Never thought that I would be happy to have that happen again. After a good day of rest tomorrow she will be in great shape for the trip out to CA.
Glad she'll be better for the trip:hug:

OK......Quick everyone......
