DD27 and her boyfriend came over for dinner last night and broke the news. They have finally set a date for their wedding. They have been together for a few years and have been talking marriage but had not set a date. They are getting married on July 11, 09. They said I could give them a Disney Cruise for their honeymoon. He is a great guy and is very good with her son. I will have to find something special for them on this cruise.

Arlene, we usually drive to Florida but 2 years ago we flew. Of course they chose us to put through the ringer. They searched us from head to toe. I thought they were going to do body cavity checks next. Johnna was practicly in tears. I just don't understand. They chose a family of 4 with 2 little girls to body search. Haven't flown since. This should be interesting.
Is there a task force leader for the speedo parade? Because I wanted to sign up.

I think Orlando is the most secure airport I have been through. John always gets picked to be put through the ringer, He looks so menacing with all his Mickey stuff on.

Not sure if anyone else has posted this before but while updating our ipods for the trip I saw that the Cheetah Girls's new movie One World will premear on 8/22. I wonder if DCL will play this on the ship as well since it is one of their original movies, just not in theaters. My kids have been watching the previews for it on TDC all summer. They would love to see this on the ship.

On another note, I had my yearly physical yesterday & she gave me some happy pills for the flight out & she also told me that she wished I had told her about the trip sooner & she would've given me the Hep A shots. I guess some doctors are more cautious than others. She did give me a tetanus shot while I was there & now I'm wondering if I should get the kids one or are they pretty much up to date with all that stuff for kids?

You can still get Hep A and it is good for this trip. Just get another in 6 months and it is good for a life time.

Last I heard it was sea day Thurs 8/21 at 2:00 in Stephanie's cabin.
That day is filling up quick, with the wenches lunch now and a get together at 4:00! Yikes

According to the weather report I just saw the next few days are going to be: 105, 106 107 (heat index of above 110) and then 99. That is crazy hot! I really would like my electric bill to be 3 digits and not 4.

Yeah, I don't tan - my freckles just get closer together.

Sunscreen rule of thumb:

1 oz per person initially with reapplying needed after excessive sweat (we'll have that) or swimming. So an 8 oz container of sunscreen that would ideally only last 4 days for 1 person.
I have 10 bottles of the spray Neutrogena sunscreen already ready but will probablly get more before we go.

I really appreciate that but we have all booked the VIP tour. I figured that this is the one and only time we will get to CA for a very long time and I don't want to stand in lines all day. It includes vallet parking, breakfast & lunch in their VIP lounge, a 3 hour tour private tour of the backlots including prop warehouses & other things not on the regular backlot tour, transportation in our own tram , 3 hours of being escorted to the front of the line for all the rides. We will get lanyards that we can use to do the FOL stuff after the tour is over and I plan to use those to see the shows (front row reserved seating). The kids are all excited. Why? Because Todd's son and my kids are bringing their DS lites and they will be able to prochat while we are going around on the tour.

Sounds like you'll all have a wonderful time!

I do not have a formal dress either...............I will wear a nice dress. DH will be in a suit and DD will love to wear her dress but DS will be the one with a deep frown and his arms crossed for us making him wear such attire in public!
Anyways, we are not "formal" wear people, none of like to dress up much at all. That being said, I think you should definitely wear your black dress with your tiara and who gives a flip what everyone else thinks? This is a TOAL enjoy it without stressing about what others think of how you look!

We aren't doing "formal" either. Just nice skirt or trousers and top for me, shirt and pants for Robert and Mum will wear a sack (jk).

My DD got singled out for the search coming back from the funeral in NY. I for one had my own theory of why they picked her

Arlene.. we will probably be check more than others since we are flying one way.. it happened to us in the May 05 Repo.. You will notice when you check at each checkpoint will put a different mark on your boarding pass.. so we are prepared..

Oh I am sure they will give DH a hard time. What with the scooter etc.

Well off to work! Still training..last night when I got home at 10:30 I had such a head ache..I think it was a brain ache!

Speaking of training. They had me down for internet training next week. Changed my 4day to a 5 day and that would have meant not being able to see my Mom before the trip. Thursday is my Birthday and we always meet. So now I haven't a clue as to when they will reschedule.

What about medications?

I usually wear sandals,easier to get off.

Since my feet get cold, probably wear the crocs. Easy to get socks on with them.

Do medications have to be in baggies as well? I usually just keep them in the carryon.

It is a Disney Channel Original Movie so no real movie company attached but it is a Disney movie. They are premearing the new Zach and Cody show on the Wonder, which makes me think that this one will be shown at some point on the cruise.

My doc gave me a tetanus shot, but that's because I've never had one as an adult. Kids are generally kept up to date due to school requirements.

He said I could get the Hep A if I wanted, but he didn't feel it was absolutely necessary.

Thanks Monica! That's reassuring. I think I just got a little nervous because of the way my doctor said, "I wish you had told me sooner!" Geez I didn't think it was that big a deal. I think maybe she's just a worry wart!

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that I got DD6 dress in the mail today. Yah. But it's alittle lighter blue than my dress, is this ok. I thought it would match but it's alot lighter than mine. Mine is darker blue and I am worried about it.

Also, she doesn't want to wear it but maybe cause she is tired from school that she just started. I am so nervous and hope that she will wear it. I have to do some alterations to it and have that done. I don't have much time.

Got my post cards done and labeled with our disney labels. Over 100 of them. Today it reached 104 today and got the yard all mowed I beat the lawn mower Yah.

Gosh I can't wait to go on the cruise and I need a break. Everyone is grouchy except me and DH. The kids came home so or something...not enough sleep I guess. They both have to get up for school each morning and they try so hard to stay up late watching something or texting (DS14 does), we had to take his phone away from him.
I just wish that we could all get along

It's so hot here uggg... Well, thank you all for listening. I hope the kids get a better night sleep and DS has to do a car wash tomorrow. The band teachers are not very communicative around here. "TEENAGERS"....All I can say...
