bdaycake.jpg
You were definitely first! And now special in my heart forever. ;)

Then let me be the 2nd to offer BIP warm birthday wishes!

Bday-HowOldBug.gif
And you're 2nd...
And my age doesn't bother me... I'm 39 now and to be honest- I am apparently so old I can't remember how old I am because last year before my birthday turning 38 I was telling people (when asked ofcourse LOL I don't just go randomly telling people my age) that I was turning 39! (I do think I mentioned it on our thread too... way back last year- I think I even mentioned turning 40 before this cruise which isn't accurate LOL)
and then like a day or two before my birthday last year I was like wait a minute- I'm only turning 38! LOL
Well now I'm REALLY 39.... I was kinda getting ahead of myself there. LOL :rotfl:
I may be 39 but tell that to my brain.... cause it still thinks I'm about 27 or so. LOL

And on another note.
On another thread someone posted the email they received from sealife park... and at first i wondered why I hadn't received it- but then I noticed the email said they are going to be closed until Aug 15th! so that means it will be reopened before we arrive... cool beans & Happy Birthday to me. hehe

Well BIP ... if that's how ya feel here's another cake for ya'!!

birthdaycakecandlespy3.jpg

Awww....

... how silly, eh? I was precisely the SAME way when my birthday rolled around a few months back. Alicia was sort of SNAPPING at me and looking at me funny ... the way she seems to with INCREASING frequency now a days. Like she's waiting for a joke to hit home - that kind of look.

HECK... who cares how old you are anymore? Just be happy... and serve me some more cake, please ... is all I want on my birthdate. Then maybe a little more of the stuff TOM admonishes against posting on this here "family thread".... :rolleyes1

Cool beans....

OK.. for those with a SM in mind ( And really ... EVERYONE is invited to participate regardless whether you're involved with the SM event or not...)... who might like a little more insight into the neighbor they'll be stalking (in a friendly way).... here are some 7 Question replies which might be helpful. Plus there was the earlier posting with a link to the replies from a 7 question posed about 3 or 4 weeks ago.
HERE it is...
IE... that's from 2 threads back ... or about 8000 postings in the past. It should be sneaky useful and helpful info I suspect. And remember... I resolutely declare I remain INNOCENT in gathering so much trivia on so many for all the SECRET MICKEY participants!!! At any rate... in about 30-40 minutes we have to hit the road... we'll be running up to Visalia by car where Alicia has a meeting to run .... and I'll be driving then on the computer doing TRAFFIC SCHOOL for a few hours in between watching the kids hopefully. SO I may not be on the DIS much even though I'll be online.

1) Rum, Wine, Juice or water? What's your usual "poison"? And fel free to reply with something other than the basic 4 options offerred here.

My dear spouse encourages me to drink things that are healthy... which means it's mostly plain water. We don't drink much liquor... however I do have some around the house. And as for soft drinks ... (shuuuu) ... I sneak 'em when alicia's not looking.

2) If you had a THEME SONG.... what would it be? Alternatively, what was the last TUNE you listened to?

Gee.... this is a tough question ... however since I've been listening to a lot of Sergio Mendes with Brazil 66... I'm gonna say it's PRETTY WORLD because it's just been like this lately.... CHECK IT OUT cuz this is something I've been listening to a lot lately (this plus Sergio Mendes) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3J_B-G2qeI

3) What's your favorite reading subject and or material? IE: Fav authors, topics or magazines?

I enjoy all Science Fiction ... rereading lots of stuff over a wide range... plus I enjoy artsy photography... technical photography journals, and I do a lot of reading over a wide range of subjects .... most being fairly pedestrian in depth. SO any magazine usually gets passing intere4st from me ... and as of late I've been collecting books on CD so I can just LISTEN to them with my MP3 player.

4) Do you have any favorite snacks... any with a trade name?

Yeah... I love those keebler FUDGE STICKS... which Alicia won't let me buy anymore. And a close 2nd is the common resses peanut butter cups.

5) What does HAPPINESS mean to you?

Happiness to me is many things. However, for simplicity it can serve here as a quiet moment where I can just watch my family of 3 girls playing at a playground, swimming in a pool, or running through Disneyland enroute to some line. THAT brings me a calm satisfaction which I'd call a little slice of sweet happiness.

6) Do you sing in the shower? If so ... tell us what you last sang IF you can recall...

I tend to sing stuff when no one is around. And sometimes I'll sort of hum along with an MP3 player in the BATHTUB sometimes. However, the lastthing I recall having sang to was an Oingo oingo song.... "out of control".... here's a clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DSIp7zyXO0&feature=related

7) Tell us one interesting/odd fact about you.

I never graduated from college. I stopped to help care for my terminally ill mother and to run our family business ... which was sort of falling apart with the tensions and tragedy of my mothers' illness. A lot of folks seem to assume I have a degree... but I don't. One day I will return to finish it up ... maybe someday really soon?

So there are MY replies to the 7 toughie questions I burped up for this edition of 7 questions. Likely to be one of the last (if not THE last) before we sail. Our cruise docs arrived today and it sure feels like the cruise is just a couple of days away now! So much to do ... so little time to do it .. all of a sudden!

:rolleyes1

Cool beans....

cool_beans.jpg
LOL you're such a nut. But don't light those candles unless you plan on helping me to blow them out! LOL
hey since last year I thought I was turning 40 before this cruise, and I'm just now turning 39... I'll just have another birthday on the cruise and say I'm turning 40. Whatd'ya think? LOL Nah....... :rotfl:

Okay birthday girl has to get some shut eye. I'm so NOT catching up on sleep... I had a bout of REALLy bad insomnia (not just nightowl staying up late like I normally do- the REAL kind where even when I'm tired and lay down in bed I can't sleep and can't sleep until almost time that I have to get up!) last weekend. Really bad timing....... I had so much to do this weekend (sister's baby shower, church VBS started on Sunday, etc.) and then I went to Six Flags from morning to late night on Monday and STILL COULDN'T SLEEP that night! Go figure. I was exhausted but couldn't fall asleep until almost 6am and had to get up at 8:30am to take the kids to the waterpark (and met Stephanie & her kids there.... which was exciting so I couldn't postpone it until some other day! LOL fortunately Stephanie wasn't into the "water" so I didn't have to run around riding rides all day- I took it easy and let the kids do their own thing!) and then got back late and still couldn't go to sleep until late. just laid there and laid there. I don't know what it is.... anxiety over all the stuff I have to get done before the cruise? I dunno. LOL
But I got probably a grand total of about 12hrs sleep since Thursday night- no kidding.
Lack of sleep + going to Six Flags one day and waterpark the next day = one very tired BIP!

so birthday girl is going to attempt to get some sleep tonight........ wish me luck! talk to you all again later today! hehe

Still trying to figure out the cell phone situation at Verizon. Went to the store last night and was told by one of those "young men", you really can't use your phone unless you want to pay about $5.00/min. YIKES!:confused3

Welcome back. Quite a few of us were discussing Verizon earlier in the week. You can dial *611 and get a Verizon rep. Tell them you are going on a cruise and wish to activate international roaming. Then, they'll confirm the international service and inform you to dial *228 option 2 to update your phone's programming.

On the ship, the cost is $2.49/minute. In Mexico, $0.99/minute, In Aruba & Bahamas, $1.99/minute. They do not list Panama or Colombia as available countries.

To cut costs, you may accept incoming text messages for five cents in any of those locations or send text messages for 50 cents each.

MICKEY ICE CREAM BAR Eating CHALLENGE....

I thought I'd disclose that in the childrens' group the leading prize shall be this CHOICE of one of a couple of options... (1st place finisher gets 1st choice).... one of which shall be this cool beans MICKEY DIGITAL CAMERA. It only shoots VGA ... however it does have an LCD screen for previewing and takes an SD memory card. If you pop in a 1gb card then your camera is good for 14,000 shots! However, you'd probably change the 4 AA batteries a few times in the process. At any rate... here it is. Sign up quick if you're a kid with a decent appetite for wolfing down a Mickey bar! 2nd place finisher shall get 2nd choice of prize... while everyone else earns an award certificate.

Please sign up on the PIRATE ZONE thread - on the 3rd sea day.

My little one has been snapping hundreds of photos and it does shoot half decent images in bright light ... and with the flash some of the images are OK so long as the subject is about 4-8' away. Any way you slice it - she LOVES this thing! And now the winner of the YOUNGEST group of competitors shall have 1st choice from a couple of interesting prizes... with this one being the one I suspect to be favored by most.

Hope everyone is well. Just checking in to say hi!

Last day at my scrapbook shop is tomorrow, starting to feel a little sentimental. I pulled a bunch of stuff to bring and share with my new scrapbooking friends.

Debi
I hope your final day of scrapbooking business is very special. I know I LOVE all my local scrapping stores, and would be sad to see one close up. Just know you helped make wonderful memories and creative treasures to many families, I'm sure!

Heehee

OMG, looks like we got married when we were 12!

No....I say 13 at least! LOL Silly teens!
Our "early" couples photo's look very similiar...ecxept I have big 80's hair and hubby still HAS hair! rofl.....kids love those pic's!

Tomorrow Denver is expected to shatter a 107 year old record of consecutive days of 90 degrees or more weather. Tomorrow should make 19 days in a row where we've hit 90 or more. And the forecast shows at least 5 more days of this (triple digits this weekend).

.
Well thats a bummer....DS18 left Tuesday evening for his final 2 week drum corp tour, ending for the world finals in Indiana. They are set to arrive in CO tomorrow and rehearse! The only good thing is that they have rehearsed all summer in 90+ heat....but I think they would have enjoyed a cool day!

I am in full out freak out.
tomorrow is my birthday which means end of July which means then after that only 11 days.... on the 11th day after that we're gonna be on our way to the TOAL!
I can't wait- but at the same time I'm already sad that it's gonna be over all that much sooner... once it starts. LOL
:confused3 :rotfl:
Happy Birthday Wishes Bip!! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Well sleepy time for BIP isn't working..... again.
*sigh*

Oooh what motivation!
pity that only the little kids can win this. Maybe I should elect out of the contest and instead just cheer on my kids- I bet any kid would love this camera! :)

I've been looking at that camera for awhile now, but I hate the fact that it takes XD cards. I prefer using SD cards as they are easier to find. Also, in bright sun, it is so helpful to have a viewfinder as well as the screen. So, I'm still looking. I guess I wish Canon made a waterproof one. Perhaps they do, but I haven't found it yet.

Unfortunately they don't. I also don't like the XD cards, but I wanted rugged and waterproof for this trip (and some other things coming up), and that's the tradeoff.

Wait... do you mean there are houses in California that aren't on a fault line? I want one!!!!

LOL - our entire country is built on a fault line - hence the southern alps and the string of volcanoes the length of the country.

Glad everyone is ok in CA. It can be a little scary but you do tend to get a little blase about them once you been through a few dozen ;)

Meanwhile here in New Zealand we are having shocking weather - people have drown in floods and towns less than an hour away are being evacuated. :confused3 Some regions have declared a state of emergency. http://www.stuff.co.nz/4637457a11.html

Anyone up late...How is everyone doing? Things are getting in order with the tux ect...I am watching "Phil of the Future" with Aly on the show. :cool1:

Kids drive me crazy - my DS14 was texting at the wee's hour of the night and he is not suppose too. Gosh frustrating. Took away the phone for the night. Teenagers just don't get it. He kept asking why mom? Cause he has to be up for school band camp and he goes there from 9 to 9 and then he complains to me he is so tired. :headache:

I am thinking about getting my nails done. I am been trying to convince DH that I really needed to get them done before we leave. I don't know what I am going to do with my hair during the formal night. I am getting so nervous in a good way. Just don't want to forget stuff. And top of that I am Getting so EXCITED!!!!:dance3:

I hope everyone is doing well and wishing everyone "Happy Birthday" and "Happy Anniversary". :yay:

I am still racking my brain with the FE which is fine, I just have to get somethings for it. Also, getting the magnet door done or try too. I just been so busy with the kids since DD6 started school this week and DS14 has been in band camp all week.

No post cards yet that we have ordered. I just hope they come soon. I am not worried about it yet. But they better get here. :rolleyes2

It's suppose to be really "HOT" here in Colorado all this week, which I really love but the heat gets to us sometimes. :sunny: Might have to go to the pool when DD6 gets out of school. She didn't want to go on the bus today but I made her go on the bus after school. I just hope that she gets on the bus in the morning. She has been just a little nervous about it. I think that she is fine though. Also, today they wouldn't let her off the bus until I got down to the stop. She was way scared cause they said you can't get off the bus until your parent gets here. I was coming and the bus driver saw me but wasn't sure if I was her mom. (which today was the first day). So maybe it will get better. It just scared her a little bit cause they said you can't get off the bus. (she saw me coming).:confused3

So, I just hope that she does ok tomorrow. :flower3:
I hope you don't mind that I burned your ears off. Just kinda need to vent and bored ect..well I probably should go to bed. LOL

Take care,

Not next Thursday but the one after we can say "we are going tomorrow!" - woohoo!

Only 11 more work days to go.

One more pay day.

I could go on ... :rotfl:

Bit of a shock this week, Mum went for a general health check and as part of the routine they did an ECG - anyway, it turns out unknown to her, that she has had a heart attack. Not surprising with the death of her sister a few weeks back and the stress that would have put on her. Probably also explains why her blood pressure is a little high.

She's seeing the cardiologist tomorrow but as it was only found while doing a routine check and has had zero symptoms so her doctor isn't very concerned. More of a fluke that its been noticed. There is little she can probably do to change her lifestyle - she is active, a little but not a lot overweight and eats fairly healthily, doesn't smoke and doesn't drink.

I think she'll probably avoid telling the doctor and cardiologist about the thrill rides at Disney following the cruise - just try to stop her doing Tower of Terror and Splash Mountain... I'm certainly not brave enough to try.

Do you have nothing to do on Saturday afternoon before the cruise? Are you staying at the DL resort but not going to the parks? Do you plan on having an afternoon break from your busy park touring schedule?

Well do I have a great meet for you!

Come meet and eat candy, cookies and other assorted goodies at Marceline's Confectionery.

A small group of Dis'ers are meeting at 3.30pm outside Marceline's Confectionery at Downtown Disney and all are welcome to come along.

PM if you'd like to come along or just turn up :)

Anyways,.... I'm not the only one who's up tonite it seems. Maybe it wuz something I drank eh?

At any rate... I'm done wandering the web tonite.

I passed my 8 hour traffic school last nite ... it took me 2.5 hours to complete it. That's excluding the 30 minutes of wandering I took to cool off as needed. So ... supposedly I paid for next day express service and I wuz supposed to get a tracking number for expres delivery .... but I did not get a tracking number. Da Bums. So I'll be calling this company in the morning to see if my docs were sent. All was done on my end I sort of need these docs ASAP!

As for tomorrow (today - thusday).... I'm headed for the beach again with another Mom and her daughter. A 3rd family just dropped from joining us ... an old friend was bringing his two sons but something came up - so it's now just the two families tomorrow. SO.... I should probably try to get to sleep now. I was watching the end of Gladiator.. and now that it's over I have less of an excuse to be up.

OMG, I hope your mum will be ok. At least it was small enough. Take care.
