Hope everyone is well. Just checking in to say hi!

Last day at my scrapbook shop is tomorrow, starting to feel a little sentimental. I pulled a bunch of stuff to bring and share with my new scrapbooking friends.

I hope you will think about all the wonderful memories you helped people capture with your scrap booking store when you feel blue. Looking at the books I have made over the last few years always is special and helps me capture amazing memories in a way that even pictures cannot.:lovestruc :lovestruc

Oh I like the brushes with fame topic. I used to have a rather fun job in DC (maybe someday I'll have children to share all the stories with) and had lots of run-ins with some famous and some infamous people (depends on how you look at it) :) ....Let's see:
President and Mrs. Clinton - a number of times... I got to be part of history and be at the WH the day the House voted to impeach and he addressed the country from the lawn of the WH.
Al Gore
lots and lots of Congressmen/women and Senators
John Travolta- have picture with him when he was at the Capitol lobbying for something related with the Church of Scientology
Michael Bolton
John F. Kennedy, Jr.(:(), Caroline Kennedy, Eunice Shriver, Sen. Kennedy and his son, Patrick
Peter Jennings
Kevin Spacey
Tony Bennett
Tim Russert
Nelson Mandela
Arnold Schwarzenager (forgive the spelling... shocked at how short he was though)
Jessie Jackson
Billy Crystal
Rob Reiner
Vince Gill
Wynonna Judd
Lyle Lovett
lots of former Buffalo Bills football players ...the good ones from the Super Bowl years and OJ (most infamous I think)... most lived in my hometown
okay, that's enough... that was a fun topic, but also reminded me how much of my life in DC I have forgotten and miss!

Are you all excited yet? I am excited for you and still wish we could go but we can't. We will be at WDW on September 1st to welcome you all home. :grouphug:

Have a great cruise! :thumbsup2

Hi Brack!!!! We miss you!
My family is heading to MK for the day when we get off the boat. Where are you going to be?

For crying out loud, was DH even shaving yet:laughing:

:lmao: :lmao:
Almost!
I think part of the reason we look so young is that we are standing with an alcoholic who is like 106 years old.

I was thinking the same thing.. Has he aged well???:rotfl2:

Yeah, he's still cute.

No, no, no.......The Bacon Club

:rotfl2:

Especially boys...their shoes are HUGE!!! Good luck! If you need me to sit on your suitcase so you can zip it, let me know!!!!

You've not met my DD yet have you... She wears a size 11 womens.

Like the old wive's tale that its good luck if it rains on the conception day?

All i know is that God has a sense of humor... The ob/gyn for my DD has my birthday as her conception day....

Nice Gift. (Funny thing is i wasn't even home...I was out on a orientiering field trip that weekend.)

Hi Brack!!!! We miss you!
My family is heading to MK for the day when we get off the boat. Where are you going to be?

We're staying at OKW until Sunday. We'll probably hit the MK the first day as usual. :woohoo:

I logged into Woot to late..I just missed this!

It says:

Zero calorie, zero fat, safe for vegetarians, and Kosher certified seasoning salt that tastes like real bacon
Makes everything taste like bacon
Everything should taste like bacon

1/4th tsp. serving size
Contains 135mg of sodium per serving size or 6% daily value on a 2,000 calorie diet
Great to put on eggs, grilled meats or fish, vegetables, potatoes, or any kind of food

It's perfect for when DCL runs out of bacon!

Last day at my scrapbook shop is tomorrow, starting to feel a little sentimental. I pulled a bunch of stuff to bring and share with my new scrapbooking friends.

It has been so hectic here. Got my pirate costume on Monday, and I just ordered it on Friday, it is very cute. DD 21 just picked hers up today, love her hat. DD 18 is a party pooper and says she won't do it, but I may just slip something in my suitcase in case she changes her mind.

DH is looking to rent a tux on the ship, does anyone know anything about that? I looked on the website, but couldn't find any info.

Also, has anyone heard anything about the wine package, cost....??? I think I remember it being around $250 on the 7 day cruise....

Looking forward to our mini meet in NYC this w/e.

Debi

Sorry to hear about your store but just think of it as another door opens when one closes.

I know Arlene knows about the tux so if you just pm. Arlenesp she can send you over for the tux.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHERYL

Happy Birthday Cheryl!!!!

We will have to give you a lesson.:thumbsup2 If Crash could teach me and I helped teach Arlene...........you should be no problem.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

For the tux - go to www.cruiselineformal.com - that's where I ordered formal wear for both this cruise and the MR cruise last month.

Brush with Fame!!
I got to kiss James Darren (moondoggy from Gidget). :cloud9: Chill Wills came up to me on broadway and said I look pretty and walked away. :thumbsup2 Also met Walter Payton from Da Bears!!! He truly was a great person.:flower3: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Did you think i would not love it!!!  :cool1:

What??? I don't think you told me you kissed him!!! I'm soooo jealous! ;)

You're lucky! I've been to NYC how many times and never met anyone famous there!

Slash from Guns & Roses was on our DCL cruise in 2006 (my sister had a small, no so nice encounter with him, my father had a small, unpleasant encounter with his inappropriately dressed wife), and one of the guys from Boys II Men was on that cruise too.

Hey I was on that cruise! August/2006 right?

Hehe that reminds me.. When we had T-Moble, they said DH's phone would work in Australia and NZ... It didn't...

There's always the Chinese Gender Calendar!

Which is apparently very accurate. Works formy sister's DD, my SIL's boy and girl and many of my SIL's friends! But is wrong for my DD....

Hmmmm got both my kids wrong. Maybe it only works before the blessed event!

Heehee
So we met Captain Tony twice in Key West. On our honeymoon (1993) we just met him. When we went back from our 5 year anniversary we hung out with him. I can only find the honeymoon picture in 2 minutes or less...

OMG, looks like we got married when we were 12!

OMG now I can see that your sons are the spitting image of Dad! :goodvibes

Tomorrow Denver is expected to shatter a 107 year old record of consecutive days of 90 degrees or more weather. Tomorrow should make 19 days in a row where we've hit 90 or more. And the forecast shows at least 5 more days of this (triple digits this weekend).

And yes, it's a very dry heat. Denver has no concept of a heat index. It's so dry that we get static electricity shocks as if it were the middle of winter. We've only received 3.25 inches of precip since January 1st.

I know we won't get much sympathy from the rest of you. I still wear long pants and a long sleeved shirt to work out every morning.

Desiree,

Thanks so much for the postcard from Disneyland. ::MickeyMo

Even though the kids have been to WDW about a dozen times and on two DCL cruises, this was their first postcard from Mickey. It really made their day!!

It was very thoughtful of you to go out of your way to do this!:thumbsup2

On another note, are we in a hurry to get to Thread 13? :confused3

I had hyperemesis gravidarum (constant morning sickness day and night the entire pregnancy) for both my pregnancies (twin boys and a 3rd boy) and am convinced it was a result of the conflict of hormones. After I lost 29 pounds in the first 9 weeks they finally diagnosed the problem and I was on a feeding tube for more than 20 weeks. The good news was they told me the sickest moms have the healthiest babies and in my case this was certainly true. Although I certainly wouldn't wish this upon anyone :sad2:

The quote for the person who asked about how many pictures we took on the last Panama Canal cruise didn't show up and I can't find it but we took over 2,000 pictures. This is why we bring our laptop to download pictures.

Michelle

Bless your heart! I have never heard of anyone having "morning sickness" so bad.

Oh my gosh! One of my best friends from work just moved from here (Dallas) to Denver a couple of weeks ago. So much for escaping the heat. :lmao:

What??? I don't think you told me you kissed him!!! I'm soooo jealous! ;)

He would be too old for you anyway!!! :rotfl2: I met him about 30 years ago when he played at the Playboy Resort in Wisconsin.:worship: :worship: I saw him perform and John and I were going back to our room. I saw him in the hallway. I got so excited that I fell up the stairs. We got to talk and he kissed me (John was there).

Yes Christopher..............we are in a hurry to get out of 13th thread before we sail.:thumbsup2 I think we can should be into thread 14 by the time we leave!!:woohoo: :woohoo:

We are heading down the stretch on this thread and overnight has been good for 3-20 pages lately.....

When we get closed out, dreaded 13 awaits

We worked on the door magnets tonight. DH got out the Mac notebook and brought up the images I have been saving for months. The good news is we have the professional version of Photo Shop but the bad news is we have no idea how to use it. Fortunately DH is very good at figuring out things, especially anything computer related so it looks like we are going to be ok.

On the FE topic. I bought mine a couple of months ago and my parents were not participating. When I was at their house one day, watching the girls swim I went through their catalogs. I found a great FE gift so I talked them into buying and participating but they are too embarrassed about what I picked so I am trading FE gifts with them. :lmao: Y'all "know" me so I am not too embarrassed but they are not sure what people will think of them w/ giving out this gift. Have you worried now don't I? :rotfl2:

Option 2 is to let the kids figure it out, they can do anything with computers these days

I got ours at our local family-owned pharmacy. They had some and ordered more for me at 35 cents each. I just can't deal with making my own - I bought the postcard paper from Walmart for $8 but I'm returning it. There's just too much to do...

Congratulations! :cheer2: Welcome to the 4 kids club!

By the time we cruise you will be 12 weeks - good timing! Over the (morning sickness) hump and before the bump! :)
I cruised at about the same time in my pregnancy. I brought along ginger capsules for residual morning sickness and seasickness and they worked great.
that made me laugh!!!
agian...thanks everyone for all the congrats!!! we are so thrilled!
Hey everyone, I am slowly checking things off my to do list. Today my to do list included calling Verizon for our cell phones and calling Chase and Citibank for our credit cards.

I know someone has listed Verizon rates already but you MUST call verizon to have them turn on the free international roaming service on your account. You must then activate it on your phone before you leave. Its easy and takes all of about a minute to get it done

Also, called the credit card companies today as well. Just FYI - both Chase & Citibank have a 3% international charge fees for any purchases made outside the United States. DH and I are talking about just bring travelers checks to avoid that cost. Anyways, thought I would pass along the info for my fellow pirate:

Have a great afternoon!!

What i was told is that they turned international roaming on at verizon but that I needed to activate it by dialing *228 and then selecting option 2 to update my roaming capabilities.

I went to our local VERIZON store tonight to ask about getting international calling.. the guy,, err kid told me I can get that changed at verizon.com. I told him but this is a full service store. his response was, but you will get get faster service there... I said.. that means I have to go home get to the web site and figure it out for myself vs you just changing it here.. He said well. umm yeah!!!!
Mind you this person was wearing a searcuker suit and pink polka dot tie.. Gotta love technology!!

i need to figure out this verizon thing! is it easy to figure out on their website? if we do this are we able to make calls back home? or is it a special package you have to buy?

wanted to add that i hope you had a great bday cheryl!!
