yeah they had to hand check all the luggage cause xrays weren't working...

US Scare had luggage issues too when they had that strike a couple years ago.

OMG they said a luggage "glitch". How did all the xrays stop working? Scary... it said something about travelers stranded. I will just sit down on the floor and throw a tantrum (crying I mean) if that happens to us. LOL it better not........
One xray machine not working is not that odd- but all of them? Or was it just one that stopped working and it really backed up the luggage that much with just one xray machine down?

And they said that was "unclaimed luggage"- what in the world does that mean? they acted like people just left the luggage! Yeah right- more like they flew off somewhere to arrive only to realize their luggage is back at the airport they flew out of- and who knows how many people will lose their luggage forever. That's what I'm afraid of!

Ohmygoodness...... I found my "mom" mickey head necklace and my ruby mickey head dangly earrings in that small carryon luggage that I said has been sitting in my closet for 2yrs with stuff from the last cruise in it!
I was wondering where those were. LOL

Oh and I just happen to be at the mall after my sister's baby shower last Saturday (with sister- helping her pick up some things she didn't get at the baby shower- like a retro looking diaper bag she wanted) and ofcourse her tween daughter had to go to Claires.... and I got a tiara really cheap..... but I don't know how I'll wear it since I don't have a princess dress or even a really formal dress to wear with it! and the most formal dress I have is black/gold....... the tiara is silver! (ofcourse)
That would totally clash and the dress isn't really like a formal... more like "business" dressy if you know what I mean? (dress with jacket that goes over it to match)

Not sure if I'll wear the tiara. But ohwell- if not, I'm sure rita would love to wear it -like every day of her life. LOL

I just caught the tail end of something on CNN (started paying attention after I hit submit on my last post) and omg...... they showed video of AA having some luggage glitch and like the WHOLE AIRPORT ( the whole baggage areas anyway- but seemed like the whole airport! LOL) is full of unclaimed luggage or something? OMg piles and piles of luggage.

that just raised my fear of lost luggage like a billion times over. LOL
We're flying AA!

I think that was just a glitch at JFK, BIP . . . so you should be fine!

Thanks for the anniversary wishes! We are actually going to celebrate on the cruise. Right now I am down in MD as my youngest son is swimming in a meet until Friday.

What a GREAT way to celebrate.

I plan on giving mine to the porter as checked luggage at the pier.. think that will be okay??

Not sure, mine is in a box and if they just throw luggage on to it will get crushed.

Off to do some shopping. I still have to get DD & DS some decent clothes for dinner. All DD wears is denim capris & T-***** & DS wears cotton shorts & T-*****. This should be fun!

Slash from Guns & Roses was on our DCL cruise in 2006 (my sister had a small, no so nice encounter with him, my father had a small, unpleasant encounter with his inappropriately dressed wife), and one of the guys from Boys II Men was on that cruise too.

I made my appt for Saturday the 8th to get my hair done.... (highlights) because I needed it done AT THE LAST MINUTE! My hair grows really fast and has started to come out really really REALLY dark the last few years... so I need to do it last minute so I don't look horrendous with inch long dark roots showing by the end of the cruise. Or atleast attempt to keep that from happening. LOL I wish I knew how to make my hair slow down and stop growing so fast. I'll probably need a haircut really bad by the end of the cruise too- since it grows fast and now is a very short haircut....... but all our hair grows fast so my entire family is gonna be a mess by the end of the cruise. We won't look like the same people that started the cruise- probably. LOL

Awesome bedroom. Did you get that from mousesurplus? We bought each of our kids a Star wall sconce from the All-Star resort for their rooms. I would like to purchase the picture from the Poly but it always ends up going for way too much.

... how silly, eh? I was precisely the SAME way when my birthday rolled around a few months back. Alicia was sort of SNAPPING at me and looking at me funny ... the way she seems to with INCREASING frequency now a days. Like she's waiting for a joke to hit home - that kind of look.

HECK... who cares how old you are anymore? Just be happy... and serve me some more cake, please ... is all I want on my birthdate. Then maybe a little more of the stuff TOM admonishes against posting on this here "family thread"....

Thanks, I should post more pics. of the room. Know where Canandaigua Lake is? I lived there for 16 plus years, I left in June of 07. Since planning this cruise I haved moved to 2 states.

So we met Captain Tony twice in Key West. On our honeymoon (1993) we just met him. When we went back from our 5 year anniversary we hung out with him. I can only find the honeymoon picture in 2 minutes or less...

OMG, looks like we got married when we were 12!

So here is some news from our Alaskan home - appears there was an episode of Wild Kingdom in our old neighborhood. This is a few blocks from our house! It's not like were were in the middle of the woods - it's on the river, but a typical cookie-cutter neighborhood that you would find anywhere in America.

That takes some brave guys to not shoot a charging bear!

I found the box! It was in the attic!
the bag is bigger than I remembered (it's a DCL little duffle bag type thing- apparently it was given to CC members years ago but I got it on ebay after our cruise and after reading about that's what they used to give you..... read about it here on dis LOL) but I found some other little trinkets I'd bought on ebay way back then (after our first cruise in 2006) and now DH is forgiven for breaking my DCL etched glass square DCL keychain the other day by dropping my keys..... because I found in that big box- not only a little box that was EMPTY (that held the keychain in it that he broke) but another one! I must have won an auction with 2 in there and decided not to give Jeff his cause he'd tear it up quick at work if it was on his keychain.

ANYWAY point is that there was a duplicate of the one I've had for 2yrs and he dropped it the other day (he had my keys cause he was putting in the new battery on my vehicle last week) and broke it... broke it off the keychain, broke bits of the glass square off the corners and such. Now I have another one -just in time for the cruise. hehe I'm so happy... I've had that on my keychain for so long I felt naked without it! hehe

I found some other stuff like disney tote bag, mickey purses, etc. It was like a mickey christmas in my attic.... WHAT FUN! All stuff I'd bought 2yrs ago and forgot about.

Cool! Like a "found" birthday present.

Very strange. I've looked at all the stores here (Walmart, Target, Sam's, Costco and there are only 2 brands of XD cards I can find... Olympus and one other). For SD cards, there are like 4 or 5 brands and all different sizes from 1 GB up to 8 GB and the prices are reasonable. I usually buy them on buy.com or costco.com as their prices are the best.

I have good luck finding them at office supply stores.
