A cabin at last...

I too, was hoping for the upgrade fairy to strike, but no such luck. We got
2585.

I'm still hoping that we might be able to upgrade at the port, but at least we're on the ship.

I've been swamped with work and not posting anywhere. I'm trying to set things up for being away for two weeks next month. I AM SO READY FOR THIS VACATION!!

I'm still going to be in & out. I miss you guys - but we'll see you next month.

We booked our flights down to LA on 8/15 and are staying with friends in Santa Monica (one of whom is a docent on the Lane Victory in San Pedro). They'll drop us at the port in the morning of the 17th. I think we'll be in DL on Saturday with the rest of the herd.
 

Wow!! I haven't done much really since the booking window opened up--sitting in a hotel in Vegas trying to book excursions!! Today I caught fire on travel planning/activities:

#1 Activity (not really my doing but still #1) Room assignment finally came in. VERY Happy. No up-grade but great location.
#2 Finalized transportation plans from home to airport and from airport back to home.
#3 Finalized transportation plans from port to MCO.
#4 Secured a Palo dinner reservation!!!
#5 Modified Aruba excursion--was closed out on opening night (took 2nd option) but it was open today. Change saved $140.
#6 Not TOAL-related, but finalized reservations for taking DS to goalie camp in Toronto-area (Mississauga actually). Still have to make arrangements for picking him up, but that will have to wait for another day.

Other than paying for it, my only real vacation obligations are transportation related--getting us from home to the Magic and from the Magic home. All other packing and planning obligations fall to my DW. I am feeling pretty well ready to go now. Oh ya--except for my other "duty"-- trying to keep DW calm and relaxed as she panics over not being packed and ready by the time we leave!!

Although we aren't participating in anything, other than the greet and rugby on CC--(are we still doing that?), I can't wait to see everyone safely on the ship.

Just got off the phone with a potential employer. I just submitted for the job yesterday. Not sure if my resume stood out that much, or they just haven't gotten many applicants. Doesn't really matter to me either way.

The conversation was just a screening type interview but she's going to forward my information to the hiring manager and try to schedule a phone interview for tomorrow.

Prayers to whomever you pray to, all the pixie dust you can spare, and crossing all your crossables would be appreciated.

Ok...somehow ..some way..I goofed! I have been filling in my lanyard list and got a cabin number from someone but when I checked my list..I already had a cabin # for them ...

So..if you are cabin number 7508 ..could you PM me again? I need to put your number in the correct place!

Not as exciting as Cheryl's news but... I showed DD these a couple of months back..thought they would be fun for deck parties.. unfortunately they were between $2-3 each..so I told her I would get her 2 only..looked on Ebay..won 24for just over 6.00 :woohoo: .. figured she could hand some out to her new friends...

Me too! It didn't like my confirmation number. I ended up entering my CC# and my reservation popped up. I have a completely different confirmation number now.

Yeah but,did you all get the price that you were quoted over the phone? Mine went up $30.00
 
I may miss the personal experience, but I am SURE that I will hear about it the next day -- either by word of mouth or by veranda confessions. :lmao:

I hope that I can make this link work. I haven't seen anything about a waiver but the website does indicate that a rebate will be granted if the ticket was purchased before 4/9.

What is says is:

Second Bag Fee Rebate Program
On April 9, 2008, we announced that we would begin charging $25 for a second checked bag effective for all travel on or after May 5, 2008. Although this fee applied to all passengers regardless of when they purchased their ticket, we have made a business decision to offer those passengers who purchased tickets prior to April 9, 2008 for travel after May 5, 2008, a rebate of this fee. Your can check your eligibility for the rebate or request a rebate online.

There are hot links to check eligibility and request the rebate. Now, why can't they verify at check-in that your ticket was purchased before 4/9 and avoid all this rebate nonsense I do not know!!!

Because that would be easy!!!

And they are hoping that most people will forget about putting in for the rebate......and they will get to keep the extra $25 bucks.
