At the risk of having to walk the plank ....and with most sincere humble apologies to the Captain.... I had to remove the banner from my signature. No, not because we're canceling or anything, but shockingly, I had this heartbreaking need to replace it after hearing that the Adventurer's Club (and most all of PI) is closing in September!!!!!

I'm in total shock here... I always go to the AC at WDW. I take all my friends there and even made new friends there I keep running into at WDW. I even took my nieces and nephews there for the first show in April. I'm glad I did because if they don't reopen it somewhere else, it'll probably be my last time.

:furious: :furious: :furious: :furious: :furious: :furious:

No cheers today,

Jennifer

That stinks, Jen.

I have always wanted to go to that place and every trip I thought, I'll make time for it my next visit. :headache: I signed you petition - hope it works.

I always thought it was an over 18 club :confused3

My first rotation is over! I actually had a good time with the people that worked there, they were a fun bunch. And I learned some really useful things, which was the whole point. I also got a job interview out of it. I think it went really well; the recruiter told me to watch for a job offer in mid-August. I'd like to stay with Target, and I have an interview with them in a few weeks. But if that doesn't work out, this seems like a good company to work for too. It just seems weird to be interviewing for a job when I won't be ready and licensed for it for another year.

The kids are back home with us. We went up to get them from my parents last night. Boy, did they get spoiled up there last week. They went miniature golfing, to a batting cage, rode bumper boats, went fishing, and went up 82 feet in the air in the bucket of a fire truck. They had a blast, but last night they said it was good to be home!

Hi Gang,

ATTENTION!!

Okay - Pirate Bus Update:

Today I signed and faxed the revised contract to the bus company and gave them my credit card info.

We will have 4 buses - and will have a 15-20 minute stop at a supermarket (e.g. Vons) on the way to the terminal. (alcohol is sold at the markets)

The price per person depends on how many are going - I estimate $10.50 - $11. pp

Please send a confirmation to Wendy - Smeecanada. Once she has the tally - I'll pm everyone w/my address or paypal accout info.

Please don't pm me now - I'm leaving tomorrow for the Mex. Riviera Cruise and won't be back untl July 6th!!

I'll check in tomorrow - if there are any questions.

If I don't talk with you again, Chris -- have a great cruise!!!!!

Sounds good. :thumbsup2 It really threw our schedule off w/ the rain /monsoon going on. We did not even end up going to DTD so I guess I will have to order my rewards card directly.

Arlene- We were not sure enough of our schedule to commit to meeting up and that is why I did not contact you this week. On the other hand, you can thank us for single handidly breaking the drought. ;) Everythihng was so green and pretty I am surprised the said on the news there was a drought.

Thanks for the rain :goodvibes

You, Laurie and my Mom too on the hearing part.

Me too. I was supposed to get a hearing aid a long time ago and haven't bitten the bullet.
My worst fear is that someone will be telling me something awful (lost job, dog died) and I'll smile and say "That's nice"

And now Stace too. Anybody know some sign language:confused3 :rotfl2:
I took a course in college, but without anyone to practice with I've forgotten everything:worried:

I have the same problem in group settings. I have nodded my head to people not having a clue as to what they were saying. DH has that device from TV that you hang around your neck. I am making him take it to give it the test.

My DGS was diagnosed when he was 5 1/2 as being profoundly deaf in his left ear. Seems his cochlear never formed correctly. We found this out after he did the Pledge of Alligience and one of the songs in preschool graduation in Sign Language. The school taught them some Spanish and the Sign Language. Of course we were all devastated about it, but we kept joking that he knew how to work his fingers etc. Inspite of it he is doing super in school and has his test given to him privately so he can concentrate. DD didn't want this to be put on his record but we told her she had to do what was best for the kid.

Not for me , I want to be on the Pirate Bus ...forget the shuttle ...probably wont get there early and probably wont stop at a liquor store

True

If anyone is still looking for a rolling cooler, found one here for $15 and free shipping.

Wlagreens has it for 14.99 http://walgreens.shoplocal.com/walg...gle&storeid=2480516&rapid=554814&pagenumber=9

Now what are those doing with the cooler? Are they unpacking the water and putting it in it for embarkation? Sale ends today so I may need to run out. My battery in the car died last night. We dropped the kids at home and were going to do some shopping when I noticed the window was creeping up and the clock led was really faint. We got home and when I tried to turn the engine on again it was dead. So today is battery day..:worried:

I know some sign language... It's the new 'in' thing to do with babies. We know "Milk" and "more" and "Bird" and "Dog" and "fan" does that help? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

What is it with these stick figures...

I bought these Interactive Cubes, where the stick guys "jump" into each other's cube, at the Discovery Store, thinking the kids would get a such a kick out of it. Well, they are totally violent with each other when they enter each other's cube :scared1: . Bad Babysitter - totally inappropriate

So now they're MINE!!!

When's PI closing? I've never been to AC! Hopefully it won't be till next year and maybe we can get a sitter on our next trip...

My niece had the same experience during her summer job - she is a physical therapist and during one summer job, in a physical therapy office, they liked the way she worked and offered her a job upon graduation. It worked out really well for her.

Good luck

We're also still gty.

Had today off work as it was my Grandmother's funeral. Lauren was insistent upon coming & did really well. I'm not sure what she was expecting, but she stood on the pew at the chapel to get a better look! We keep telling her how lucky she was to have had & to remember her Great-Grandma.

I'm sorry for your loss but, I am glad that Lauren got to know her Great-Grandma. :)

email has been sent ... Hope I got the email address correct.

I'm bringing my laptop. My daughter couldn't live without it :rotfl: . I blogged my Europe trip last summer and my friends at work made me promise to do it again so they can live vicariously through me!

I'll send out a group email soon -- dh is out of the country, I've had VBS all week and my 17dd was working & at her grandparents M-F for the last 3 wks... so, it's just been me and the 2 youngest 24/7 without any breaks. :scared1:

I know I enjoyed your blog last summer! :thumbsup2

Total bummer. One of my very best memories of a pre-cruise DIS meet was at the Adventurer's Club. I even have the Monkey Nut to remind me.:(
KUNGALOOSH!!!

MaryAnn, we took the kids in there. Two of them were even part of a show in the Comedy Club one night.

MaryAnn,

I was simply IMPRESSED with the duration and silly creativity of this animation. While, in thesame moment I was searching for something ta go with the "fighting" theme of commentary regarding the WDT antics. I kno it is a bit violent... but like the original Robocop movies... I recall the director of that flick deliberately made the "violence" extreme to be rediculous ... as it was here in my choice of image/animation to include. I tell ya... the thing is unbelievably long for the size of file it is. And at moments, it gives pause to
consider the imaginative creators' efforts with mild chuckles.

And below are a couple of distantly related animations:

So MaryAnn, no stick figures this time... < wink >

So....In Internet security jargon, to "pwn" means "to compromise" or "to control", specifically another computer (server or PC), web site, gateway device, or application; it is synonymous with one of the definitions of hacking or cracking. An outside party who has "owned" or "pwned" a system has obtained unauthorized administrative control of the system.

So does this mean some nefarious entity has just siezed control of YOUR computer?

< wink >

So much for the TSA. I was just unpacking and found a 12oz bottle of water that was in my carry-on. No one will confess to putting it in my bag and it obviously was not caught.
When I was going through DFW on the way through and forgot to take out my "3-1-1" baggie and they completely took apart my carry-on.
According to Readers Digest the pilots think it is all for show anyway.

Not true... I've seen a couple of people arrested at the security check point, not sure why in ONE case. While in the other I know a GUN was involved!
