Arggghhh! Fellow pirates, ye've gotten the Draft to help us seek Gain in our full contact laundry cruise. Cheer up mates! We sail with the Tide!

Guess I'll have to give it my All then.

I loved Steel Magnolias too, but it's been so long since I've seen it I can't quote any of the lines:guilty:

I know someone, who knows someone, who will be on this cruise.
A friend of a friend from work. He is traveling w/ his DD, his mother, and the nanny.
I really want to find out who he is as he is supposedly makes in the 7 figures. With this information I am thinking I want his cabin on the tour list. :)

:thumbsup2 Several of us on this cruise have stayed in the Cat 1's before... they are nice and worth seeing! I don't know if I've mentioned this before.... but, the *downside* (to us not to others I'm sure!) was that everytime we ordered room service they wanted to put a table cloth on the table and set it for us!
They finally stopped when they realized that we really didn't want them doing that for our BLT's in the afternoon! :thumbsup2
But, every morning that is how breakfast was served!

:lmao: My girls bought me a stuffed monkey from the movie (in costume). Don't know if I will be bringing it though. I thought of buying a real Cappucine monkey (stuffed) don't know if I'd be able to get it aboard. My wife was ready to have me commited (in fact she still is, everytime I mention the word fabric or costume).

:lmao: 7dd was not happy when we told her she could NOT wear a monkey costume in August!!!! She really wants to be the Monkey! :rotfl:

So, I had an appointment today with a travel doctor. I picked that over the county clinic because even though it cost a bit more, he reviewed my vaccination history and really went over the trip. Here's what he came up with:

Hep A - Yes. Easily transmitted and very common. A good idea for even short visits.
Hep B - No. This surprised me. Basically it's hard to catch so unless you're participating in some very high risk activities (like sharing needles, etc.) it's very low risk.
Typhus - No. For the kind of day visits we're doing, it's very low risk, and it's treatable if you do get it.
Malaria & Yellow Fever - Not present in the areas we're going, and besides, the mosquitoes that transmit it are only active at night (this I did not know).
Tetnus (DPT) - Yes. It's been over 10 years for me.

He gave me a perscription for Cipro in case of travellers diarrhea.

His suggestion for eating in Mexico (important, as some of the excursions we're on include lunch):
Don't drink the water (duh). Avoid "wet" foods like salads. Dry foods and properly cooked food (meat/BBQ, etc) are safe.

And now for an all Steel Magnolias multi-quote:

:thumbsup2
Well, these thighs haven't gone out of the house without lycra on them sice I was 14.

You were brought up right.

If you don't have anything nice to say about anybody, come sit by me!

Oh! He's a real gentleman! I bet he takes the dishes out of the sink before he PEES in it!

The only reason people are nice to me is because I have more money than God.

My colors are "blush" and "bashful."

Love that movie..........I wonder if we could watch it but it is not made by Disney!!!:sad2: :sad2:

Thank you. Someone on the email list suggested the same ones -- I wasn't doing welll yesteday and I knew that I would mess up! LOL! Dh has made me promise to see a Dr today.......

How are you feeling?? I hope you went to the doctor and are resting!!

I don't see a DW on that list....I think I need to find out where his cabin is :rolleyes1

Have blender and will travel!!!:lmao: :lmao: (no need to get a job)

The same answer I gave my mom when I poured water on a light bulb that had been on for a while and the fixture was still plugged in:rolleyes1.

You had a bright idea. :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

define "innocent" :rotfl:

I only got my Hep A but I do need a booster next week to make it a lifetime shot!!! :thumbsup2 I had first shot six months ago!

Wowzer!

We had a trial suitcase packing session the other day......I might have to wear my tricorn on boarding day lol.....

Andy

I hope you do wear it on boarding day! :rotfl: :rotfl:

So, it's different from shoving random objects up your nose or ear, but I think people might appreciate this story (as it's also a DCL story)....

I remember you telling this last year on the Med cruise thread . . . and it still has the ability to make me cringe!:scared1:

Between that one and the one next to it...only down side is..we can't make a magnet..both pictures have been taken out of photobucket!

The most frightening thing is that clearly you were seriously considering the magnet or you wouldn't have gotten far enough to find out they were no longer in photobucket.:scared:

Definately! And if you have one, don't hang them out on a line on your verandah (I remember someone, MR?, posting a picture of a neighbor doing just that on a port day).

I will not be held responsible for underwear drying on a verandah!! Every cabin has the pullout drying cord in the shower -- please use it! (Yes, even you and the granny panties Megan is trying to get you to wear, Stacey . . .:lmao: )

Tori unforuntaly poured the entire thing over on her lap..2nd and 3rd degree burns on her arms, legs, and pelvic region...she was wearing sweats and I guess a patron in the restraunt thought to pull the sweats off of her (I heard that sweats hold in the heat and keep burning)

My call was a result of the paramedics having to take Tori to the hospital..it was a really long trip from work but when I got to the hospital..it seems that everyone at the restaurant and the paramedics had done the right thing..Tori no longer has any scars..as she grew..they went away..she still loves tea but to this day..she waits for someone else to pour.

:scared1: Oh my!!!! Not the kind of call a mom wants to get!!!

Does not that movie have all of lifes lessons in one movie? "Our ability to accessorize is what sets us apart from the rest of the animal world". My personal favorite: "That which does not kill us makes us stronger". ;)

There is nothing better then a good Southern woman movie or book!!! Southern women are my favorite writers!!!!
Bailey White....Fanny Flagg.......

And I got a pair of PJ pants, so once again, the threat of me wandering the Magic in my boxers has been thwarted!

I'm glad to hear that! :rotfl2:

If we did that, there'd be mutiny in the household!!:lmao: Our three boys absolutely love Legos and we're using their free admissions from the Brickmaster club to go to Legoland. I know that it may not be as impressive for us, but I think the kids will really enjoy it for the few hours we're there.

That's great! Our 10yr old's name is Deryk and he makes friends quite easily. It's our 13 year old we worry about.

Did you get the new Lego catalog this week? Elvis has been busy telling me all about the new Star Wars sets..... ;) I did promise the kids a trip to the Lego store in DTD. That is also how 25dd is getting her dh to not complain about going to WDW for her 25th b-day..... He is a Lego fanatic, also!

If there is an *ice breaker/game thing* the first night make sure your 13ds goes!!!! 17dd will tell you that is so important! And she is very shy and quiet -- but, for some reason not when she is on a Disney ship......:goodvibes

Don't be too surprised when I put my napkin under my chin like a bib!!! ;)
I am making one for DH.:goodvibes

I swear on our DCL cruise I had the ribs in PC. I was looking around for more napkins and the people sitting at our table dumped the roll basket and gave me the napkin out of it! I was trying so hard to be prim and proper. I was slightly horrified and thankful at the same time. My Sister leaned over and said "Quit eating those or she will take off the tablecloth!

That is exactly what happened to Rich on our very first night. Those cloth napkins must have some sort of stain repellent on them as he couldn't get anything off his hands. Next time we brought wipes with us and they worked fine.

BTW, I know we discussed wipes for the bathroom. If you have a Walgreens, they have their flushable wipes on sale this week. $1.99 for refill of 84. We always stock up.

The most frightening thing is that clearly you were seriously considering the magnet or you wouldn't have gotten far enough to find out they were no longer in photobucket.:scared:

No..the reason I know is that I was trying to enlarge the picture to show DH what I was laughing at....

Although..it would have been funny!

LOL! It is obvious from your post even if I didn't already know, that you have more than one kid. :lmao: It's like the pacifier ... you sterilize it if it drops on the floor for the first one, wipe it off on your shirt for the second...

A fairly new aquaintance saw me at the park one day.... I had my children and a nephew with me - the nephew was about 9 months..... He dropped his pacifier when it was getting to be time to leave and we had run out of water so, I spit on the pacifier, wiped it on my shirt and then popped it back in his mouth. The woman says *OMGosh. I now know that I am really going to like you.* :rotfl: :rotfl:

I got as far as saving it to MY photobucket account, then realized it was only the thumbnail size.:confused3

Sigh, I am bummed. We booked Virgin America for our flight cross country. Well guess what, the airfare dropped 60.00 per person!! But they don't do anything about it. Oh well....

The other downside is.......we did a Celebrity Western Caribbean cruise when our DD was 7mths old. Finances were good so we booked the mondo suite. The problem was the extended family. We had 23 family members in our party who felt obliged to make our suite dining room and family room an extension to their on cabins. On day 3 we told them that DD was napping and they needed to *leave*.

:headache: I don't want to even look at mine:sad2:
It was a good price at the time:confused3

Your colors are "pink" and "pink"
I tell you how precious can this wedding get!
It's pretentious..you know what daddy says "an ounce of pretentious is worth a pound of manuer"
The poet lauriat of dogwood lane!

(forgive the spelling!)

I actually have been using that a bit when people ask about my wedding "colors"

I say "do you want the real colors or the pretentious ones?"

Chrissie

Have y'all read the Southern Belle's Handbook????

Happy Holiday!

And, to all who are serving in our military, profound thanks!
