Happy Mother's Day Everyone

I hope you all have a lovely day and get lots of nice pressies

Thanks for the kind wishes Mandy.:goodvibes

I don't expect that I will receive any presents :confused3

I will be shocked if I do.

The weather here is nice and sunshiney but it is quite windy and very chilly because of the wind.

I wish it were nice because I'd love to spend the day sitting out on the deck reading a book:thumbsup2

What are you doing for excitement today?

I am doing laundry:laundy: :teeth:

Happy Mothers day to everyone!

I had a very nice day..We had all the kids over, and had a nice dinner of chicken soup, cheese biscuits, and cantaloupe...Then ice cream for dessert..:)

I got some cute cards from the kids, and a very nice fuchsia plant....
All and all it was a great day...:goodvibes

Too bad the weather wasnt so great...it was sunny and all, but we had a bit of wind and the temp. was only in the high 50s...Oh well at least it wasn't raining..:thumbsup2

I have some pretty cool news about DGD Julia...She got voted into the court, for her prom...It would be even more cool if she actually got picked for prom queenpixiedust:... ..
I'll let you know how it goes...Her prom is this next Sat. Night.
:cool1:

I'm now off to relax and watch TV with Mike...

Have a good evening pixiedust:

Congratulations to Julia.

She must be very excited:goodvibes

Yesterday the family cooked dinner for me and my mom.

It was really nice.

Hi all! Hope you had a great Mother's Day! My DSIL had a lunch at her house and DDad took mom and the rest of our family out to dinner. Later in the evening CW & I took Colby frog hunting at out pond. We've got little baby fish in our pond, and the frogs are finding them to be a tasty treat :headache: (We relocate the frogs, we don't hurt them... I promise)

Robin, Colby is a little boy... he is already spoiled rotten and knows it. I can't believe how much he acts like a little baby. It's so funny... plus now I have 2 snoring in the bed. :upsidedow

Mandy, thanks for the Mother's Day wishes! Did you do anything exciting this weekend?

Betsy, congrats to Julia!:thumbsup2 And it sounds like you had a wonderful Mom's Day! We look forward to hearing about prom next weekend... please post some pics! :goodvibes

Hi Girls

It sounds like you all had a lovely Mother's Day :flower3:

Robin ~ the weather has been sunny and windy here too. I can't wait for the nice weather to come back so I can get back out in the garden. I hope it gets nice for you too

Betsy ~ I bet Julia can't wait for her Prom. I hope you take lots of photos, as I'd love to see her all dressed up. I can't wait for Becky's in July

Kelly ~ Colby sounds like lots of fun :) How are Chad and Carolin ? What have they been up to ? Say 'Hi' to them from me

Well we've had a quiet weekend. On Saturday evening, Paul & I went to a Chinese restaurant that we used to go to when we were going out with each other. We had a lovely meal and a great time

Last night Kerry went away with a few friends from college, as they're doing some filming on the beach for their college course (our nearest beach is 2 1/2 hours away). She is home tomorrow, and it sounds like she's having fun

Tomorrow, Becky's big exams start, and they go on for about a month (poor thing)

Have you heard of a pop group called The Specials ? They were a local band who were around in the early 1980's. They're having a reunion concert back in Coventry on Friday, and me & Paul are going. We're really looking forward to it, it should be a great evening :)

Have a good week girls

Happy weekend everyone.

It is a long weekend here but the weather is not going to be all that cooperative unfortunately.

We don't have any major plans anyway but there is a ton of work to be done around home, so I guess I shouldn't be bored.

Good Morning DWDQ's

I hope you all had a great weekend :) What did you get up to ?

Paul & I went to our concert on Friday evening, and it was lots of fun. The rest of the weekend was pretty quiet

Betsy ~ How did Julia's prom go ? Did she have a great time ? I can't wait to see some photos

Robin ~ Why is it a long weekend with you ? Is it a Bank Holiday today ? I hope you're having a nice, relaxing one

Kelly ~ I hope everyone is well. What have you been up to ?

This morning I was up at 5am, as it is time to make reservations for our 16th August Cruise. I had no problems and I made ressies for Palo Brunch and Palo Dinner ~ I'm so excited, I can't wait

Well I'm off to my mum's in an hour and taking her to town

Have a lovely day girls

Hi Mandy.

The holiday is actually in celebration of Queen Victoria's birthday, hence the name....... Victoria Day:thumbsup2

Yes the banks were closed and the schools and many other places of business.

Victoria Day weekend is the first "official" long weekend of the summer season.

It is also said that you should wait until after Victoria Day weekend to plant any annual plants or seeds because there is too much of a chance of frost before that weekend.

Of course, there is still a chance of frost after but less I guess. I don't know, it usually takes me til well into June before I get my planting done;)

The weather was very cool and windy for the long weekend.

Today and for the rest of this week the weather is behaving much better :sunny:

Hello DWDQs,

Beautiful photos Betsy.

The girls look lovely in their dresses.

Thanks for sharing them with us.

Now that you are done your training period, do you have one set job or are they still moving you around everywhere?

It's going to be a lovely day here today.

I openend the door at 7:45 to let the cat out and the heat just sorted of wafted right in:thumbsup2

Today is also Liz's 22nd birthday.

We are going out to dinner at a restaurant of her choosing. It's a really nice one too.

Her dad is grumbling about the cost but if he doesn't like it them I suppose he can stay home.;)

That would save us a bit of money right there:lmao:

He's always that way with money though, so I usually just ignore him.

Of course I handle the finances and I know how much money we do and do not have at any given time and I wouldn't overspend but he comes from parents who pinch every single penny to it's last drop. So I supposed he can't help how he is.

I hope everyone is having such a great weather day today as we are

Good afternoon DWDQ's

Robin ~ How lucky that you get a day off for Queen Victoria, we don't celebrate her day, and she was our queen :confused3

Happy Birthday to Liz, I hope you all enjoy the meal tonight :)

Betsy ~ Thanks for posting the pics from Julia's prom, they're great :thumbsup2 Julia looks gorgeous, and her dress is beautiful too

Kelly ~ I hope you've had a lovely weekend, did you do anything nice ?

I've had a quiet day to myself today. I had a wander around town, and I started buying a few gifts for the Fish Extender Exchange for our August Cruise

Have a great day everyone :)

:faint: What a day.

Most of it was great and parts of it were not so great.

I did some things around the house, went and did a bit of shopping with Liz.

We then went out to a really nice restaurant to celebrate her birthday.

Before we had even ordered I felt my phone vibrate, it was a number that I did not recognize.

It was the nursing home about my dad.

He had an "episode" at supper time where he passed out and had no pulse for several minutes:scared:

He did come back and then got him to his room and settled in his bed. The nurse said that his breathing was really bad (not breathing for long periods of time) and that his blood pressure was really low.

While I was talking to the nurse the waitress took our order which we had to cancel because we had to get over to my dad and also pick up my mom and take her there.

When Alex and I got there he was alone in his room and looked very pale and lifeless:eek: But he was breathing.

Long story short, he is still with us. His breathing is still irregular, which is not really all that strange because he always did breath like that.

His blood pressure is better too.

Have no idea what happened to him but all his limbs seem functional and he "talks" words that we can understand but don't always make sense (as per usual)

Both my brothers showed up and dad seemed somewhat stable so we headed off to have our birthday dinner and I returned to sit at the home for a bit after that.

Crazy day here. Hopefully he will recover :confused3

 Oh Robin, what a worrying time for you. I hope your dad makes a good recovery

 I'm sending some hugs to you and your family

Thanks Betsy and also to you Mandy for the good wishes for my dad.

My mom called the home this morning and she was told that they can't believe it but he's up walking around and smiling this morning basically back to his normal self.:confused3

It's amazing....... from his "deathbed" last night to normal again overnight.

Who knows why these things happen:confused:

He has had a couple of episodes in the past where he passed out and had to go to the hospital by ambulance but they never really figured out what caused it, so maybe this is just another one of those?

He does have heart artery blockages that he's had for years. He had 2 triple bypasses and they were blocked again, so maybe that contributed.

Who knows, really doesn't matter I guess as long as he's up and running the halls causing his normal ruckus:rotfl2:
