Mandy & Kelly-
Love the dresses you guys have picked out. I'm afraid I wouldn't fill out the top half of either of those dresses. :rotfl2: Out of my 3 sisters and myself, only one sister has good sized "melons". She's the one who is really trying to lose weight right now. She's 5'5" about 140lbs, and looks good in everything. She always has her makeup and hair done. (she's a hair dresser) As we get older though, when she gains weight, even just 2-3 lbs, she gains it in her chest first and she has a wicked hard time losing it. I guess I'm not to upset about not having a larger bra size afterall! :rotfl:

Thanks Wendy, I can't wait to get all dressed up for dinner. Your sister sounds a bit like me, though when I start dieting I always lose weight from my "melons" first, which always makes me feel a bit scrawny on top (I do miss them when they've gone :lmao: :lmao: )

Have a great day

Mandy :)

Kids still home sick...but we're actually having fun. It's nice to sit at home. :)

thanks to the DIS, I picked up the first Christmas gifts for my kids. They are getting IPODs! they were $29 for the original type, refurbished.

I think I'll pick up some DVDs (or have aunts and uncles do this).

I'm considering Leapsters for the SANTA gift (but I really need to price this option out.)

I really think one gift from Mommy, one from Daddy and one from Santa plus some stockings will be it this year. With all the other things they receive, that's enough.

Stockings will hold all sorts of dollar tree finds.

For me, all I want for Christmas is a new pair of tennis shoes. I have a wide foot, so they are hard to find. :) Hoping DH will just let me pick a pair and wrap them (if he hasn't decided on something else already!)

Okay, I think in the stress of the move I actually gained weight. UGHHH. I'm getting back on "the wagon" of weight loss and excercise today. I've taken the tickers off because it actually depressed me! I'm sitll working toward my goals though!

happy wishes today to everyone.
jennifer

Hi Jennifer

I hope the kids are feeling a lot better today

It sounds like you are getting quite organised for Christmas now :thumbsup2 I think everyone is going to be very happy with their presents

:wizard: :wizard: Good luck with getting back on track with your diet, I'm sure you'll do fine :wizard: :wizard:

Mandy :)

A late good morning shipmates! :goodvibes

Well... we finally made our reservations for the one night stay in Jacksonville! Just sad we couldn't get near the monorail on Riverside to making dining easier, the hotel name changed from the one I picked earlier and I can't find out what it's called now :guilty:

Another busy day today!!

Jennifer, hope the little ones feel better soon! :wizard:

Wendy, I can sympathize with your sis! Though, I have lost some of my "melons" with the challange! I wish I'd lose some more though. :lmao:

Mandy, if yours have gone with the weight loss... try those waterbras! They are pretty interesting! Always makes me think of the episode on Will and Grace! :rotfl2:

:lmao: :lmao: Oh dear, that was such a funny episode Kelly :thumbsup2 No, my weight loss hasn't been drastic enough this time so I don't need any enhancements :rotfl:

Have you been enjoying Lost ? I couldn't believe that they've left it on such a cliffhanger till February - it's been brilliant

Great news that you've booked your hotel for the night before the cruise - oooh, it's going to be here before we know it

Mandy

Oh, I am sooo mad about them leaving me hanging until February! But with the cruise coming in January... I can wait! No need to hurry that one up, it'll make the cruise go faster :goodvibes

They really do have some good writers on that show! Just wish they would still tie up some loose ends from the beginning

that we could apply the EXTREME as a team. It would be fun to work with folks i already know a little bit about.

Anyone here going to apply.

Sorry the rules keep you out of the game, Mandy. You'd be great.

When I logged in just now, our thread was on the second page! I knew you were probably asleep with the time diff.!!

jennifer :goodvibes

I sent in my application earlier today I hope they chose me.

Morning all :wave2:

What is everyone up to today ? I'm off to visit one of my friends this morning from the Dis, we met at a local Dis-Meet a couple of years ago, and we catch up with each other every couple of months,

I didn't think that anyone from the UK would be able to play the new game, not that I have a clue what it's all about :confused3 :confused3 Is it just a quiz ?

Anyway have a great day everyone

Mandy :)

I applied for WPASADI yesterday ::yes::

It's more than a quiz...it's a team based (in the beginning like survivor) challenge. The judges come up with a challenge-two we did last year were design a virtual theme park and design a virtual store. My teams (I've played twice) gather on a seperate forum to discuss our strategy and put our ideas together then usually build our submissions into a webpage and come back here and give the link to the judges.

Eventually, enough are eliminated where the game turns into and individual challenge and the last one standing wins :teeth:

I saw noone under 18 could play (which kinda stinks but I understand that rule) I had some very smart young ladies on my previous teams...I hadn't realized our "friends across the pond" couldn't play :confused3

 Good morning!

And good luck to all of you who have applied for all of these interesting events! :thumbsup2

I'm off for a meeting and will check in with you guys later!

Hi there

I had a lovely morning with my friend where I was given my first Christmas pressie, which was a lovely surprise, I've had a good feel, but I can't figure out what it could be, but I'm really good - I can hang on till Christmas Day to open it

I was hoping to finish my wrapping up today, but I ran out of wrapping paper. I've only got hubby's pressies to wrap up and I don't think he'd appreciate Princesses wrapping paper :lmao: :lmao:

Have a great day

Mandy :)

You are pretty good to be able and control yourself til Christmas! I would have to shake the package and possibly have a sneak peek!

You're much nicer than me, I would have gone ahead and wrapped DH's present with the princess paper! :rotfl2: He would have had a very cute look on his face!!!!

Have a great evening you guys! I'm heading out the door to get the kids! I actually worked a little today :lmao: :wave2:

I would wrap in princess paper too -- if only to see his reaction. :lmao:

I also think:
1) It's a present
2) It's Disney paper
3) what does he have to complain about?

It's not like you're not giving him dress-up clothes and fake nail polish with Cinderella on the bottle. :rotfl:

But go to the store and get some masculine paper if you must. You love Christmas too much to let it be tainted by the pretty paper! :

thanks for giving me a laugh today. needed it! It makes me see the silliness in my situations.

I LOST MY KEYS twice today at our old house. The first time my 8 year old found them on the key rack :rotfl2: ! Imagine that!

The second time I set them down next to DS (2) while I fastened his car seat...turned around, got in the driver's seat and couldn't find my keys. :rotfl: No joke, spent 35 minutes today looking all over the place for keys set in obvious places.

OKAY, scary tale of the day. DD (5) went to school today (after being sick for 2 days). When I picked her up, she was soooo tired. She fell asleep within 5 minutes of getting in the car. SO, I had to stop at a friends house-- Who has this really great driveway where you can park in front of the house. Literally two steps from the front door (this is suberbia). I ran in while DD was still asleep (locked the doors with the remote and left the car running). I just wanted to see my friend's new paint color in her den. DD woke. AND the painter tried to get in the car to turn off my car lights. DD was SCARED. I saw it all happen through the window, I just couldn't stop the crazy man in time. I was like 10 steps behind him and my sweet girl cried for like 5 minutes straight. The silly guy was so upset that she was upset. He went and got a bag of candy to give her. So what's the thing I've always told her. "Never talk to strangers and never take candy from a stranger" SHe cried harder when he offered her the bag of skittles!! Honestly, now that the incident is several hours behind me I am giggling as I write that last part. The man was so STUPID (can I write that here?). I think he was nice to want to turn off my car lights, but offering candy to a child who's screaming because she's SCARED...that's just silly.

By the way, the paint color looks great. And next time I won't stop to see it! I'm actually more concerned I'll loose the remote and not be able to get her out than I am of the painter. :rotfl2: You can be sure that painter ed will never be invited to change the color of my walls. :rotfl2: My middle child would have a heart attack!

On a brighter note, The budget board has been hopping with informaiton about those $29 ipod shuffles (old model). I purchased 3 -- and also found the accessory pack at the mall (radio shack)for $3. I love the DIS!

My daughter is putting together a school report on the UK. Do you have a favorite recipe for something I could make and take in for the kids to try. (I'm thinking cookies, shortbread or something like that... but it doesn't have to be a sweet.)

If you cook, please keep it simple. As you can tell from my previous post, I'm a little bit of a ding-bat!

:rotfl:

I really am a good cook!

Her poster has picture that a friend of ours took of FLAT STANLEY all over London (see flatstanley.com if you want more info.) This paper person saw all sorts of fun things and it's neat to have photos of our own instead of things printed off the internet. She also drew a picture of BIG BEN==Pretty well for an 8 year old.

Let me know if you can help with some yummy food ideas.

 Morning all

Have a great day :thumbsup2

Jennifer ~ aww, your poor DD she must've been so scared, bless her. The painter must've felt awful about upsetting her, especially as he was only trying to be helpful

I'll sort some recipes out for you later. I'll definitely find you a Shortbread recipe and I'll find something else typically British, perhaps a Victoria Sponge Cake

Mandy :)

:guilty: Poor little thing!! I can only imagine what was going through her mind! How horrible! I guess with the candy thing, he was trying to show he was a good guy :sad2: Men do not think things through very well! :lmao: Glad she's okay, and poor mom... glad you're giggling now! :teeth:
