7 month window support group!

Well, I managed to snag a week at Aulani for the end of June in a one bedroom ocean view so now I'll just have to try and walk it for a week and I should be all set. We've used all of the airline miles we've been saving up and I just have to get two one way tickets from HNL to ORD, but that's probably the easiest part now. I still have to keep my fingers crossed that I can walk the reservation the way I need to, but at least we have something now!

Earlier this week I scored 9 nights at BCV for next June.
It's our favorite resort & every year I get stressed as my 7 month mark approaches.

I wanted 2 or 3 nights at VGF at the beginning of the trip...but there was no chance of getting that.

But such a RELIEF to have BCV booked!

After a very frustrating week of stalking, I managed five nights in a row at Aulani for June across two views. We won't be there for our 25th anniversary as we hoped, but we will be there for DH's 50th. Feeling very relieved.

So, so glad that I reserved my reservation a week early and walked it. Today would have been the day that our 7 month window opened up at Aulani and when I went to the dvc members site I saw that all room types are completely booked up for July 4th and most types are also booked for the 3rd too. Because I had been walking my reservation, I only had to move two days from the start of our trip to the end and I had the days I needed. Woohoo! Of course we are in a one bedroom island view and we'd really like a two bedroom, so I have waitlisted the two bedroom. If we get it, great, if not, I still have some points to bank for 2016, so it's all good!

So when you walk the reservation, do you cancel your two days first before snagging the next two that you want?
Just curious on the mechanics.

Actually, I called Member Services and asked them to move the two days. I believe they have a way to hold the reservation while making the change so I didn't lose the days I already had. Online the only option is to cancel the entire reservation and re-book, so you risk losing everything to someone who has waitlisted those days before you can re-book.
