7 month window support group!

I haven't stayed at BCV, but I have stayed at Yacht Club and Beach Club before I bought BWV. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the area, being able to walk to Epcot and DHS is so amazing! And being able to stroll around the lake in the evenings also amazing. Stormalong Bay is fantastic, but it generally closes earlier than most pools. Depending on the time of year it is open into the evenings, but not usually late, like after the parks close. I can't speak to transportation anymore, since they split the bus route off from BWV. But I have no problems with bus transportation at BWV and they share with the S/D.

Thanks Erika. I'm so so so confused. We stayed at BWV twice and love the area too. Since this a summer trip we figure we'll be at the pool a lot and we like to swim late at night after a day at the parks. I think I'm honestly leaning towards SSR now. Having Artist Palette and the Turf Club plus the food at Paddock Grill is appealing. The new paddock pool looks great and we love our views of DTD from Congress Park. The kids plan to visit DisneyQuest also and that's just a boat ride away. Hmm...I need to decide before 9 am tomorrow morning. :scared1:

good luck to you in whatever you decide!!!
My 7 month window date has been pushed back to this Friday, I don't think I will be able to sleep all week, I'm so freaked out!

Why do I pull out the point chart? why oh why do I always do this?? :confused3

I did the same thing this weekend. Our call date is Thurs. 11/17. I'm thinking split stay now, but originally I only picked one resort. :)

We were at Boardwalk in April and walked around the lake to BCV. I think we all instantly fell in love with the whole area. All of this time I though Beach Club, Beach Club! Now here we are 3 days away and I'm playing with the idea of a split stay involving AKL. You are not alone! :rotfl:

I am not even there yet but we want BCV for the first or second week in November. I want to catch the end of F&W and wish we could sneak in a MNSSHP.

We use to go in late September but it is just too hot for me to function. I am hoping November will be better and low point use.

This is awful...less then 24 hours until my window opens and I can't make a solid decision.

It's hard with so many opinions. My parents are coming...my mom wants either BCV or BLT mostly and is ok with SSR. My dad wants SSR he thinks. My husband wants Kidani since it's his favorite, my kids want BCV but don't understand that SAB closes early. And how sandy is it really? Is my two year old going to have sand in her swim diaper? My mother in law could care less which is great! So UGH!!!!

I think this is going to be my plan of attack tomorrow morning.

1. Try for BLT...a long shot at best being that we need a standard view 2 bedroom and a standard view studio.

2. 6 nights at BCV

3. 7 nights at SSR

Or would a split stay be best? a little bit of everywhere! haha

SAB has a sand bottom - so if your 2 yr old sits in the edge of the pool in the zero entry part she'll be sitting in sand. Personally I don't remember it closing early (we were there in August) but we also didn't try to GO late at night. It is a wonderful resort and so convenient to walk to Epcot.

I wouldn't mess with a split stay for anything less than 5 nights per resort. JMHO on that business. That's just a packing hassle / time waster I don't want to mess with.

Are your parents paying for your points? Paying for your airline tix? Paying for meals? Babysitting? If not, I'd book where I want (read: can afford) to go and not worry so much where Mom wants to go.

We almost always go for the resort that will give us the longer trip but in some of these cases some of them are ALWAYS going to cost you more so if you want to try a new resort try it. Go for BCV as first choice. ONE resort. No split stays. Just do it. Save BLT for a cheaper time of year or shorter trip or when you have less people going so you won't need as many points. It's not going anywhere. It will be there next time.

How about the rest of SAB? Does the water leave you feeling sandy? Like can you just dry off and get changed or do you need to shower after you swim to get the sand off?

The sand at SAB is silicon, so the grains are MUCH larger than on a beach. It's still sandy, but not nearly as bad. At least I didn't think so.

It's not like the ocean - it's not salty so it doesn't stick to you. There is a good bit of sand on the bottom so that if you stand still your feet will sink in up over your ankles. It's kinda odd and definitely hard to describe. There is a fair current in the "lazy river" loop which is fun for noodles & inner tubes.

I called today, at the 7 month window at 9:00am, and tried to book a 7 night stay at the Grand Californian but there was nothing available in any villa type at all. Guess I will try for a week later in the summer.

I was afraid of that. I don't know what I will do now, that is going to add thousands to our trip cost.

It's today its today haha

I'm at work now so as soon as I park this bus ill be calling MS! Yayyyy

OMG we're going to THE BEACH CLUB!!!

I decided to just go for it. I almost skipped it for SSR, but honestly we can stay at SSR anytime.

This will be our first BCV visit and I can't wait! :yay:

We are staying the week before at the GCV and didnt have any issues with booking for the entire week. We actually got a 2 bedroom dedicated for the 6-15, and a studio for that final night of the 15th. Could you move your plans up a week? The further along into the summer the more harder it will be to book an entire week there.

Congrats! Besides BCV being a great resort it is such a great location and your kids should love SAB. If you like cocktails, Hurricane Hannahs has a great Mango Mojita. Nice to have while the kids play in the sand.
