Hey everybody...
Welcome home! Was that an incredible trip or what?
It was our first cruise and by far, our best vacation ever. We couldn't have asked for better weather.
I'm really sorry I didn't meet that many of you.
Unfortunately, since our kids are older, we weren't really at the same places with those of you with younger kids. We were practically alone most of the time as our boys hung out in the Stack and we were just sunning on deck.
Debbie, it was great meeting you, though often just in passing and thanks so much for the dive box.
It really came in handy in Grand Cayman (Stingray City), Cozumel (Chankanaab) and CC. We snorkeled everywhere. My new most favorite thing.
James, it was such a pleasure to meet you and D.Anne. You did look amazing on pirate night, both of you.
I know I met a few others, Suzie, Teresa, Lisa but I am the absolute worst with names.
I didn't cry coming home but the tears flowed on Friday night when we had to say goodbye to our servers.
They were so wonderful! Alvira just hugged me and said, "I know, I know!" Apparently, she's experienced cruiser meltdown before. DH and I decided to go to Palo Thursday evening and DS17 said he was going to dress up and go to our regular rotation. DS13, "Attitude Boy" decided to just go get pizza. Anyway, DS17 went to Parrot's Cay, dressed in shirt and tie, probably with sandals though I didn't get into that! Alvira and Teodore clucked over him like mother hens. Actually, a family sitting a few tables away had a DS15 whom our DS17 had met in the Stack and he joined our son at our table for dinner.
If it weren't for the fact that our DS17 is starting college in the fall, we'd have rebooked in a heartbeat. We figured we'd wait and see how we make out with our budget and tuition payments. WE'LL BE BACK!!!
Love to keep this running just to catch up with everyone. Is that allowed?
I plan to post a journal of our trip on the other thread as soon as I get my act together, i.e. laundry done! I read a really long journal before we left and it got me so excited...I just want to pay it forward.
Hugs to all.
Take care.
Linda

I kept waiting for him to go overboard.

I hope that group picture of all of us turned out... would definitely love a copy of that. I'm still going through mine, trying to get it under 500 pictures
(some vomiting). Took him to the Dr. today and she's pretty sure it's viral so just gave him something for the nausea. He actually didn't have much of an appetite since Friday night. They push that Purell stuff so much on the ship that I thought we were safe but I got thinking about the snorkeling. In Cozumel, of all places, they gave us brand new mouthpieces and threw them away when we were done but at Stingray City and CC, they just did that chlorine water dip. Who knows. This poor guy rarely missed school in the past and this year had the flu in the winter and missed 7 days, then we take him out for last week, another 5 days and he's been sick since, another 3 days. Hope nobody else came down with it.
