7 day Western - May 7, 2005???

Hey everybody...
Welcome home! Was that an incredible trip or what? :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc It was our first cruise and by far, our best vacation ever. We couldn't have asked for better weather. :sunny:
I'm really sorry I didn't meet that many of you. :guilty: Unfortunately, since our kids are older, we weren't really at the same places with those of you with younger kids. We were practically alone most of the time as our boys hung out in the Stack and we were just sunning on deck. :sunny:
Debbie, it was great meeting you, though often just in passing and thanks so much for the dive box. :love2: It really came in handy in Grand Cayman (Stingray City), Cozumel (Chankanaab) and CC. We snorkeled everywhere. My new most favorite thing. :earboy2:
James, it was such a pleasure to meet you and D.Anne. You did look amazing on pirate night, both of you. pirate:
I know I met a few others, Suzie, Teresa, Lisa but I am the absolute worst with names.
I didn't cry coming home but the tears flowed on Friday night when we had to say goodbye to our servers. :sad1: They were so wonderful! Alvira just hugged me and said, "I know, I know!" Apparently, she's experienced cruiser meltdown before. DH and I decided to go to Palo Thursday evening and DS17 said he was going to dress up and go to our regular rotation. DS13, "Attitude Boy" decided to just go get pizza. Anyway, DS17 went to Parrot's Cay, dressed in shirt and tie, probably with sandals though I didn't get into that! Alvira and Teodore clucked over him like mother hens. Actually, a family sitting a few tables away had a DS15 whom our DS17 had met in the Stack and he joined our son at our table for dinner.
If it weren't for the fact that our DS17 is starting college in the fall, we'd have rebooked in a heartbeat. We figured we'd wait and see how we make out with our budget and tuition payments. WE'LL BE BACK!!!
Love to keep this running just to catch up with everyone. Is that allowed? :confused3
I plan to post a journal of our trip on the other thread as soon as I get my act together, i.e. laundry done! I read a really long journal before we left and it got me so excited...I just want to pay it forward.
Hugs to all. :grouphug: Take care.
Linda

Goofytoo - did you happen to see my group on the Catameran! Oh my Goodness! They were so tipsy from the "free" drinks. I had to calm down my neighbor Eric who during the "Strokin" song decided to dance. "um, DISNEY cruise Eric!" Plus he got up and did the YMCA at the front of the boat :rotfl2: I kept waiting for him to go overboard.

Yes we had a FANTASTIC time! That was my favorite excursion during the trip. It was just a blast!

Linda,
I wish you would have said something about being alone. We would have loved to have you with us. It was Rob and I most of the time or Deb, Carl Rob and I. I would also like to keep in touch with everyone. We could all exchange e-mail addresses. It would be really nice to know how everyone is doing.

Teresa,
I'll get that info on Marisa for you.

Debbie :wave2:

Yes, the ship is still moving for me too! :goodvibes

SO great to meet so many of you! Thanks, James, for arranging everything and the wonderful keep sake buttons! Our trip was more enjoyable just for meeting so many of you! :flower:

Debbie, I hope to take the film in tomorrow. I'll let you know right away if I switched cameras. I wasn't feeling so hot at that moment, so it's possible! We had such a great time with you guys!

If I have any great pictures of anyone from our group, I'll make copies. I may have some good ones from pirate night! pirate:

Teresa, so let's say Disney World in 2007! I need something to look forward to!! SO glad to have had the chance to "hang" with you guys! e had a ball.

Didn't re-book, but we will for sure go again. :cool1:

I did a trip report - go check it out! I'm anxious to read all of yours!!!

I've got jet lag. I'm off to bed. Keep in touch!!!

Lynn

HI everyone- it was really great to meet so many wonderful people!! i am horrible with names!! :goodvibes

i am swamped at work so i will probably have to wait till the weekend to start my trip report :sad2:

my son felt like a celebrity - so many people saw his pic on the boards and told him!! he didn't like the clubs too much :confused3 and stuck to us like glue but we had a great time

i ended up getting sick on fri and left CC early- DH & DS stayed but i slept for 4 hours went to dinner and couldn't eat...horrible sore throat and thought i was gonna puke at shutters :guilty: (sorry too graphic) :earseek:

i exercised 4 out of the 7 days and only put on 4 lbs! :Pinkbounc

talk to you all soon- gotta catch back up on all this accounting and whatever mistakes i made before i left ;)

Bratray - I met you and your son several times, and I knew he looked familiar but couldn't place it!

~Amanda

Hi Everyone, it was terrific meeting some of you, James & D'Anna, loved the pins, thank you so much for the brunch in Pala.......Debbie, loved the magnet for my door, and the necklaces for pirate night....we couldn't make it to the celebration on 10 for Pirate Night, we were too busy on 9 watching the tipsy folks running for the ship.....drink in one hand, shoes in the other!
What an incredible vacation, we had a fantastic time, we're definitely going again, but we haven't booked yet. My 18 yo daughter couldn't come with us because it was finals week. When we got back, my DH called my 24yo son & told him next time he & his gf are going with us too! Of course he's talking about moving to Fla, thanks Deb!!!!!

Hey Guys...

Glad to hear everyone had such a great time. Nick wants to plan another one :goodvibes

Bratray - Sorry to hear you weren't feeling well on the last day. I saw you when we first got there, but didn't see you much after... now I know why. I hope it wasn't too much of a bummer for you. We only got to the gym on Sunday, but I did walk Deck 4 at least once a day and did the stairs (from deck 1 to deck 10) several times. I had my weigh in today and gained 3.8 :guilty: I thought I actually did really well and was a little disappointed with that much, but oh well... had a great time :goodvibes You need to post on the WISH board and keep me updated on your weight loss :teeth:

MMDeb - I wish I could have seen those people running back to the ship. :rotfl:

Amanda - I didn't even look for you guys on that excursion, but wish I had ;) Those guys were pretty stinkin' funny and looked like great fun to had out with. I really enjoyed when we played volleyball and wish we had more time to play. Our team would have KICKED THEIR BUTTS!!!! :teeth:

Lynn - We are SO up for WDW in 2007. I'd think we would shoot for the end of May so that the girls wouldn't miss so much school, especially since Jessica would be in high school :earseek: I enjoyed meeting Marty's parents, so you make sure to say Hello from me :teeth: I'm still swaying alittle, but not as bad as yesterday. I'll definitely be checking out your trip report. Still haven't started on mine yet  I hope that group picture of all of us turned out... would definitely love a copy of that. I'm still going through mine, trying to get it under 500 pictures

Goofytoo - I tried to smuggle off a pitcher of those Conch coolers, but I got stopped by customs  No, the reason why the bag got left behind is because we were all too excited about getting into our limo and Nick didn't check that all the bags were put into the car. It was HIS fault ;)

Suzie - Sorry to hear about your Flight-from-Hell. No way to end a perfect vacation :guilty:

WHERE'S JAMES??????????

We are heading to the BCV in May 2006
We are thinking about doing a cruise in 2007 Eastern this time.
I just don't know about 2 days at sea right at the beginning.
whose coming?

where is James????
still recouperating from all that Pirate fun :earsboy:

Teresa
I have some great pictures of the kids and you and Nick.
I haven't made it to get them printed ect.
I'll send them to you

It has been raining since we returned home to maine on saturday night
My tan is fading :guilty:

I haven't dared to get on the scale :guilty:

Lisa - I would LOVE to do another cruise, but it might be a few more years before we do it. I really want to look into a 10 days cruise next time... 7 days was just too short. Nick looked into that cruise too,but I don't like the first two days at sea either. I want to do the two trips to Castaway though :teeth: I can't wait to see pictures. I'm still going through ours and hope to have them developed in the next week. I'll send some your way too.

I've got the first two days of our vacation done on the trip report so far. Hoping to have pictures posted soon.

Hi everyone,
Just wondering, :confused3 have anyone's kids been sick since returning home? DS13 has been sick with headache, nasty cough and stomach pains  (some vomiting). Took him to the Dr. today and she's pretty sure it's viral so just gave him something for the nausea. He actually didn't have much of an appetite since Friday night. They push that Purell stuff so much on the ship that I thought we were safe but I got thinking about the snorkeling. In Cozumel, of all places, they gave us brand new mouthpieces and threw them away when we were done but at Stingray City and CC, they just did that chlorine water dip. Who knows. This poor guy rarely missed school in the past and this year had the flu in the winter and missed 7 days, then we take him out for last week, another 5 days and he's been sick since, another 3 days. Hope nobody else came down with it.
DS17 is having SERIOUS Disney withdrawal. He won't look at our pictures because he's afraid he'll cry. He's been listening to Disney music on his headphones. He's our sensitive one. He always cried coming home from DisneyWorld in the past.
Everyone have your laundry done??? :rotfl2:
:wave2: Linda

Yeah. Tori's had serious diarrhea since Sunday. Dr. says that she probably picked up some virus somewhere (possibly on the plane) so not sure how it's related. But then again, 2 year olds put everything in their mouths, so who knows. We were very good about washing our hands all the time and not drinking or eating anything off the ship except Castaway Cay but we don't consider that really a problem...

Just got all my pics downloaded and labeled. Ready to write up our trip report, etc. Gosh, hard to believe it's been 4 days that we've been home....on the other hand, laundry is all done and house looks back to normal. Guess that's why I clean ahead of time - don't want to do it when we get back! :)

I finally stopped feeling the ship moving today! Is that too funny or what?!?

Sorry to hear that your kids have been sick. Both my girls have been fine, but some might be more sensitive to catching things than others. I hope they feel better soon.

Going through my pictures now and downloading to Walmart so I can get them developed. It's going to cost us a pretty penny  I've got through our first day onboard done for the trip report and will try and do two more tomorrow. Nick and I are playing golf tomorrow and it's suppose to be 82 here. Life is so rough sometimes ;)

DH and I have both been really sick, too. We have even missed work the last two days, and that is extremely unusual for us.

I'm looking at my camcorder video that we took from the cruise. The first day we spent time on deck 9 and 10 just looking around. Well, I was at the Outlook bar and even commenting that this was where the DIS board meet would be on Monday (boy, wrong date!) and there setting up the tables were Tera, her hubby, James, and I think it was Donna, too! I wouldn't have really taken a second guess except for Tera's green shirt! How ironic is that?! Oh, I could just kick myself for getting the date wrong! Oh, man!

Has anyone heard from James? I'm worried about his foot, He said it wasn't doing well on the ship.
I'm still trying to get my brain back that I left on the ship. I can't remember anything since I left except what a good time I had. We're going to do Disney water parks next weekend for Kennedy's birthday.

I'll think of you all while we're there. It would be great to get together again.
Debbie :grouphug:

Wish We were still on the cruise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :sad2:

Jott - Sorry you and DH have been sick. Hope you both recover soon.

Suzie - How funny is that?! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Too bad you didn't walk by :guilty:

Debbie - He gave us his "business" card and I think there was a personal email address on there. I'll try and get in touch and see how he is doing. I know he wasn't feeling all that great the last day or so :guilty: Tell Kennedy HAPPY BIRTHDAY from us. I've downloaded most of our pictures and have some cute ones of her and Jessica :teeth:

Still trying to get my trip report done :guilty: I'm like you Debbie, the trip went so quick, I can't remember anything but having a good time. :teeth:

Tera,
I'm going to PM you! :flower:

James, are you back yet? We're worried about you!

Debbie,
How was Kennedy's bday?

LostGirl - I got it and replied.

Hope everyone else is doing well. Really miss being on that ship :guilty:

I want to go again :Pinkbounc
