My main reservation about being just there is that it's right near the main lifts and stairs and I'm concerned about the noise.
We've been by the stairs and elevators on a couple of other decks and never really heard any extra noise.
Remember you are on a cruise and not home so don't worry about it. :woohoo:

Are we still going to use the small world modified logo? If so the last couple of flags could be replaced with To Russia With Mouse it would fit there.

We need to decide on a name first, someone did mention doing a quick poll which I think would be a cool idea

Hope you enjoyed the snaps.

Paul, the pictures are all incredible! I especially love your night shots.

Glad you liked the images, the night images took quite a long time to set up position, lighting reflections, still water, people in frame etc... but I was happy with the end results. The theme for the portfolio was transport at Disneyworld, it is quite surprising the amount of different modes when you think about it. I had many other ideas segways etc...

The Tyre sorry Tire won pic of the week on allears net.com I called it "Christmas a Tire" get it, terrible I know.

HI Mike!!!
I got your PM - no problem !! I was out most of the day shopping for our tailgate party for tomorrow's Giants game. We have a friend who owns season tickets and we get to go every now and then- I really love going to Giant Stadium- we have so much fun. WE are really taking advantage of the games this year because our friend is going to be giving up his pass which has been in his family since his grandfather bought them years ago. He has 6 seats which will cost him $120,000.00 for the new contract!! ($20,000 per seat. But, above that, each ticket will still cost $700.00 per game in the new stadium!!! These seats are on the 40 yard line 5 rows up!!! But since you are not from NY I guess you are yawning by now

Sallie how long does a contract on a season ticket last......I mean that seems like an awful lot of money. An annual season ticket for the team we support in this house, Arsenal FC for those that are interested, cost about £1000. That allows entry for premier league games, you then have to pay for any other competition games. Ticket prices cost between £45- £70.

OK you guys, we are official! Booked! Wow, something to look forward to! I did look at air fare--who knows maybe by 2010 there might be bargans?!

Good news is starting in August of next year I will accrue 2 vacation days every month!   So it will be easier to save up vacation days.

:woohoo: Tina, dare I ask if Billy is coming along? :lmao:

As for the vacation days? :woohoo: You go girl!

aloha,

How about " MAGICal Star Crossings"

aloha,
hawaiian mickey

 I like that too! Oh so many decisions....its like a kid in a candy store but I hate to mention this again but my heart is with the Mouse....:)

Welcome Tina! Glad to have you on board!!!!!!!!:cheer2:

MaryAnn, Tina is very cool! Her boyfriend is a dummy! (Literally) - she got picked up on in RBD by Billy the Dummy. So that is why Tina now has a picture of her one true love in her signature! :lmao: Alas! It is unrequited love. Tina left him behind for greener (and living and breathing) pastures! :lmao: :rotfl2:

C & G stands for City and Guilds which is not degree level (though it sometimes feels like it) I started the course to purely improve my travel photography. It kind of snowballed and before I could stop myself, I was on stage 2 which involved film cameras, developing and darkroom etc... I have been able to move away from auto mode on the camera, which was part of the reason for starting the course.

The flash section caught my eye as well, that is my next purchase (gadgets, love gadgets, don't tell Celestine:rolleyes1 )

We met on Panama Canal crossing day I believe, Celestine described you as Laura the lady with the big camera. I was also front centre through the first two locks.

I have inserted a few images that I used for my first portfolio. things can only get better....

and a few for luck

Hope you enjoyed the snaps.

OK DH of Celestine - first, you'll have to remind me of your name.

Second, I  pictures.

Third, that how I started - to "improve" my photography. It snowballed from there. :rotfl: That's how we got started on all these trips. To try out all my new lenses.

Fourth - absolutely :lovestruc the wheelchair shots at Epcot, I haven't been able to pull off a shot like that - you must of been the first in there in order to get it. :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc it!

(Fifth - see folks, you can pick me out in the crowd in a snap!)

I may have to pick your brain for more ideas if you don't mind me. I too tend to get down and dirty from all angles. It doesn't always work but sometimes I come out with a doozer. The problem is that unless you have "had your eyes opened" (usually another photgraphy buff) my family doesn't get it and asks? :scratchin - Why'd you take this one? :rotfl:

My answer: Kids just don't understand! :confused3

Anyway, anytime you want to share - please feel free, you send them to me via pm or e-mail, will pm you the info.

Thanks! Your bound to get some awesome shot in St. Petersburg! Can I tag along? :)

You know Paul, I was wondering when I saw all the modes of Transporation. See - the theme came through! ;)

Loved them all. You should have mentioned your award! That is awesome.

As a student I entered a photography contest at school (just a jr college) but I was the first entry level student to ever win entry into a judged contest and also win a ribbon. I was jazzed as I almost didn't enter. My teacher (who was not a judge) had to harass me to enter. Didn't think I was good enough. I won with a shot of my son hanging on a wooden fence looking to the future and a back shot of lady straddling an old time wooden velour chair with a wrap wrapped around her bottom torso - to be decent you know ;) I have to admit I was so happy that I framed them and had them hanging on my wall. They were there until we remodeled and are awaiting hanging from my DH.

Glad to have you onboard Paul - us photography buffs have to hang together.

Now, where are the others?

 I like that too! Oh so many decisions....its like a kid in a candy store but I hate to mention this again but my heart is with the Mouse....:)
I'm with you on incorporating the Mouse into the name. After all, he's the reason we are all going on the cruise. ;)

Are we still going to use the small world modified logo? If so the last couple of flags could be replaced with To Russia With Mouse it would fit there.

Scandanavian Midnight MAGIC WITH MOUSE?

Either one sounds great! I've been brainstorming and bouncing some ideas off Tom (very unsuccessfully).

The best I came up with was: MAGIC nights, Baltic delights.

(I ditched - The Mouse does Tallin):lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Or we could use the old standby before another thread does - To Russia, with Mouse.
I think we have to make a decision soon. We could do a poll??

aloha,

How about " MAGICal Star Crossings"

aloha,
hawaiian mickey

Fortunately, we do have time to decide.

Other ideas:

Scandinavian Magic
Night on Baltic Mountain

 Scandinavian MAGIC with the Mouse???????

Hmm.....more brainstorming. I :lovestruc it. LOL - can you tell I'm still trying to get the "Mouse" in there? :rotfl:

More ideas:

The most afjordable Disney cruise ever
Where the mouse never sets...

You mean a Midnight Mouse? ;)

Like I said, this was a really quick goofing around idea. We can use it for door magnets or whatever. My thought was to put some landmarks from the cities or countries that we'll be visiting around it. And I'll clean it up, make sure the fonts match, etc. Maybe add our slogan and dates. Just let me know what y'all have in mind.

smallvikingworld.jpg

Okay this is so great........do we want to somehow add the slogan MAGICAL delights and Northern Lights to this?? (Sorry, is that the final idea we came up with?) I totally want this for my Tshirt too!!!:thumbsup2 :worship: :lovestruc  :cloud9:

Just going on this cruise will be the most special anniversary I could imagine! However, you might want to think about booking the spa villa for both of you to relax and have a massage . . . would be lovely on one of the sea days.

MAGICal Nights in the Northern Lights - July 18-30, 2010

I like that idea . . . and then we use Mike's logo . . .:thumbsup2

Northern Lights and Magical Delights is the name I'm liking best so far or it could be changed to Northern Lights and Disney Delights. I also just love the Small World type logo idea :lovestruc

Great idea Mike! :thumbsup2

How about Magical Nights In The Northern Lights

Laura, Good for you I think you absolutely did the right thing, just being true to the DIS way of doing things.

That being said I think we should go on with our brain storming sessions and come up with whatever name we want and then as you said we can tweak it so that it's different to theirs. Both cruises seem to be liking the same ones and each cruise can only pick one so, as there seem to be two names that are standing out To Russia With Mouse and Northern Nights and Magical/Disney Delights I think we'll be just fine. We can still use the Small world based logo with whichever name we finally go for.

The Mouse, the Mermaid and the Czar

Slogan ideas?
Northern Lights and MAGICal Nights?

Northern Lights and Magical Delights

To Russia with Mouse

The Mouse, the Mermaid and the Czar

I think Tara (or someone) could probably rework the Small World ship to make it more Viking looking as well.

Keep brainstorming...........:surfweb: popcorn:: :cloud9:

Those Summer Nights with the Mouse for another idea.

It will still be light out until between 10:00-11:00pm. I have pictures of sunset at 10:30pm and the moon coming out all from our verandah, it was very wild. This was after leaving St. Petersburg.

Ok, I think I've collected all the old posts for the name.........

I'm going to organize the list....

1. To Russia, with Mouse
2. Scandavian Midnight MAGIC with Mouse
3. MAGIC nights, Baltic delights
4. MAGICal Delights and Northern Lights
5. MAGICal lights and Disney Delights
6. Northern Nights and Magical/Disney Delights
7. The Mouse, the Mermaid and the Czar
8. Those Summer Nights with the Mouse
9. MAGICal Star Crossings
10. Nights on Baltic Mountain

Ok, I think this is all of them......how do you do a poll?:confused3

1. To Russia, with Mouse
2. Scandavian Midnight MAGIC with Mouse
3. MAGIC nights, Baltic delights
4. MAGICal Delights and Northern Lights
5. MAGICal lights and Disney Delights
6. Northern Nights and Magical/Disney Delights
7. The Mouse, the Mermaid and the Czar
8. Those Summer Nights with the Mouse
9. MAGICal Star Crossings
10. Nights on Baltic Mountain

Okay, I've put out a shout out on the Tech thread to learn how to post a poll, but I guess we could just do it with this list. If you like one of these thread names, please choose and we will do a final tally. Let's say the poll closes next Friday, October 24th? If any of these are already being used by another thread or you have any last minute entries, please let me know ASAP! Thanks to all and GL to your favorite name winning!

(I think we all agree that the It's A Small World logo with viking hats is our favorite.) We just have to decide where the words go.
