Hi again,

Do they have places to store your luggage on the tube or coach? We will probably have several pieces of luggage with us and although our DD is a good traveller, we can't always count on her pulling her own bags.

Also, does anyone know if we were to take a cab would we need a booster seat for her since she is only 6?

Thanks,
Monica

Not sure if Andrew has answered so I'll answer anyway (I'm on a ketchup day...again!). No booster seat required in a black cab, although seatbelts are compulsory. Booster seats are required if you are shorter than 135cm. Public transport, including black cabs & coaches are excluded, however everyone, no matter where you sit must wear seatbelts.

Luggage storage on the tube is non existant, so keep it close & trip up a few commuters!

On mainline trains there is a luggage storage area at the ends of each carriage, but unsurprisingly these get very full. THere is usually overhead storage if you have small bags.

On a coach, they will put all your stuff in "trunks" under the coach so you just keep your hand luggage with you & are given your checked baggage back at your destination.

Black cabs have no "trunks" so if you have a large amount of luggage and 3 or 4 people you WILL need at least 2 cabs!

Are there any car hire services from the airport to hotel that you would recommend? I think that would be the better option for us for all of the reasons given by Julie in an earlier post.

Also, is there enough interest from others in a bus going back to London after the cruise instead of the airports? We were thinking about going to Paris post-cruise but after looking at London a little more and seeing all that there is to do we would like to go back to the city for a few more days before flying home.

Thanks,
Monica

PM me to remind me. Transport is DH's forte & he is en route from Germany. He is already tasked with this for Robert so getting an answer for you will not be difficult. In terms of a bus back, there is currently one from the port. Originally just dropping at airports, but dependent upon where in London you wanted to go we could probably get the coach company to accommodate. Until we have final numbers we don't know how many vehicles, it may be that 2 small coaches work better & would be easier to accommodate your request. Cost per head will be similar to port drop off which is expected to be £10-£15/person

Hi Celestine,

Apparently I can't PM anyone until I have at least 10 posts. I can ask again in the future if that will help. Or, maybe I will actually get to 10 posts soon so that I can then PM you.;)

Thanks for all of the work on the coaches!

Robert you beat me to it, I was going to tell Monica that it's pretty easy on here to get the posts you need to PM. This is especially true if you are making fun of Robert... :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: :cool1: :thumbsup2 :woohoo: :dance3: :yay: :grouphug:

This is where you learn to send "fluff" messages!! :thumbsup2

How did you know what time Studio Sea would be empty in order to arrange this?

Hi Barb,

I think that someone called DCL to see when it was available and if we could have a Dis meet. It was definately arranged before the cruise. On our Med cruise, we just met in the bar area where the computers used to be (can't think of the name, someone help me here :confused3) That was OK, but Disney had a family activity scheduled there that really never materialized as we took the whole space over (there was over 100 of us). Anyway, maybe Studio Sea would be worth an ask. I think it was about 11AM on the first sea day.

IE see Barb!:lmao::banana::laughing::cool1::lmao:

I'll take that as a compliment. :flower3: :rotfl2: :thumbsup2 :lmao: :rotfl:

Not sure I'll be able to get down when you are there. I'll let you know if that changes....I love to be sneaky. :upsidedow

Anyone going to be down T'giving week, 2nd weekend in Dec. or MLK weekend? Still not sure if we are going down anytime around Christmas or not.

Good morning and hello- I haven't been here for a while and I just realized how much there is to catch up on if you don't check in on a regular basis!

I got a great little travel book on the weekend for a pre-trip stay in London I'm hoping to do on my own- "The Little Black Book of London". I've been to London before, but it's been a while- does anyone have any recommendations that if I only have one day/one night in London, the best area to stay in? I do not like subways, but will walk above ground all I need to....

I keep checking airfares, but see no bargains yet...I'm hoping that after the holidays the prices dip- has anyone had any luck booking flights yet?

Thanks for all the great information I've been reading here!:cheer2:

Good Morning all
