DH is driving me nuts right now too. He thinks I am crazy. When I talked to the doctor yesterday I had NO IDEA he would have said do not go. I was crushed.

I am beyond stressed and torn about the whole thing. There is a chance to go and nothing go wrong but there is a chance that something could go wrong. I am not much of a risk taker so this is just killing me!

I don't blame you! And I can definitley see where you would be crushed. Wonder why the Dr wouldn't give Maddy tamiflu, they say it will treat & prevent this flu???

So sorry that you are stressed. Doctors can be, like "regular people, either worry-warts or "go for it" types. I wonder, too, why he couldn't put Maddy on Tamiflu prophylactically to start a couple of days before getting on the ship.

I would prefer an at sea day vs another day at CC since everything is closed on the ship when we are at CC, but I am up for anything... Wish they would just change us to the Eastern Carribean itinerary except I would miss Key West and I have always wanted to go there. It's out of all of our hands though.

I just wish they would make the announcement NOW so we can cancel reservations and make new plans for wherever we are going. I want to know what we are doing and book things. WHY else did I stay up until midnight on the 90 day mark!!!!



Think DCL would hire us? We wouldn't leave people dangling HA HA.

They could definately use us!!

So sorry you are going through this!! This is why DCL Should have had a statement of some kind out by late Monday, even if it was general saying they are working on this issue but to say nothing is such a poor PR move from them. They only have 2 ships, so in retro this is really easy for them to take on compared to the other cruise lines who have 1,000's of ships to figure out what to do with.

Well they just reported the first death in the US due to the Swime Flu. Sadly, it was a 23 month old baby in Texas.

I know and still don't know where in TX?? We have a grade school Zoo trip scheduled for Thur April 30!! I wonder if that will change? Or if we should go since a lot of people from Mexico who visit here go there??

I want you to do what YOU feel is right. Dr.'s can sometimes be over cautious. I called our Dr's and they are not telling us to do anything to prepare and they did not tell us not to go. They said our fall flu shot would cover us and make sure that Larry's Hep A, B, and Tetnius shots were current and they are, so they said we are OK.

I am in the mindset that if we are going to get it we are going to get it wether we go or stay home. If it's meant to be it will happen no matter what. We are just washing our hands and using hand sanitizer constantly.

It will not be the same without you there. You will be missed so much! If you aren't going it is going to crush me too. I was soooo looking forward to meeting you in person, eating dinner together, Palo Brunch, Parasailing, and just hanging out.

IF you cancel - since you booked the Brunch what will happen to that reservation? What will happen to all of us that are linked to your reservation for dinner seating?

I read and checked for myself and DCL has a recorded message that states for upcoming Western cruises: For this May 2 one it will be changing from Cozumel to Nassau, so I think they will be changing that port for us because the CDC said they have this no Mexico for the next 3 months.
I don't know if we will do Nassau but it looks as if No Cozumel for sure would be my guess because of the CDC warning statement issued.

Thanks for the info!! That sounds OK to me- I think they have a Dolphin excursion- I think I will book it through them though when we find out the details instead of through the company.

Well, I looked on DCL's website for Nassau excursions- some nice dolphin ones- maybe we'll get to swim with the dolphins after all. I guess we'll see soon.
