58 tantrums, 2 snakes, 3 dole whips, a fall & lost sunglasses... OH MY!!!!!

Dinner at the Grand Floridian looked like a lot of fun! The step-sisters are hilarious!

Awww, it's too bad that you could only get one of the boys to play in the pirate splash area at the resort. You already know that we think that the resort is absolutely gorgeous and our favorite thing to do there is "just hang out".

Lisa- it was super fun!! I highly recommend it!

You were right on the money when you said CBR was gorgeous- glad I got go experience it for myself! :)

Hope you all are enjoying this New Years Day!! After all the crappy stuff I've been through- I'm ready to claim 2014 as a brand new start!!

Have any of you seen Frozen?! I took my boys to see it yesterday and oh my gahhhh- I'm in love with it. Best movie I've seen in such a long time.... I may or may not have cried a little... I can so relate to Elsa & Ana both. I loved it so much that I bought the soundtrack already too.... I see a lot of singing going on in my van in the future. No ones mad. :)))

Happy New Year my Disney peeps!

Sunday, October 20, 2013 - First Full Day

This morning, I woke up super excited and just couldn't wait to get on with our day. We had plans for Ohana at 9:35 so we were up bright and early to be there on time. We headed to the bus stop about 8:00 a.m.

My guys waiting on the bus...

Someone looks really excited!

We didn't have to wait long for a bus and in no time we were on our way to the MK to get on a monorail to the Poly for Ohana. It is so hard to get to MK and not want to go in. I am sure someone here can relate.

Us on the highway in the sky :)

Lawson was so excited about this day and loved wearing his sunglasses on his head!

When we arrived at the Poly for our reservation, we stood in line to put in our name at the podium when we realized Lawson was not standing in line with us. After having a mini heart attack and what seemed like an hour, he comes strolling out the gift shop acting like it wasn't nothing but a thing.... :furious: It scared me to death of course and I scolded him big time about walking away from us, especially in a place like Disney.

Meanwhile, we were called to get our group picture taken.

This is one of my favorite pics of the trip too!

Now, if you have ever been to Ohana, you know it seems to take forever to be seated. Well, at least to me it does. We sat in the little waiting area and watched t.v., I took the boys to look over the ledge over near Kona Cafe at the pretty flowers and waterfall and went ahead and took a restroom break while we were waiting. During our wait, I noticed a rather snippy, late 20's, early 30's, woman just being a total "you know what" to her son and (guessing) husband. I was trying not to listen, of course but I couldnt help myself. She was going on about how the other people with them have ruined their trip and that her son was being terrible and the husband/boyfriend?? looked so annoyed. She was just standing there in her skinny jeans, heels, eyes rolled back in her head and just looked pissed off at the world. I wanted to shake her and say " Come on lady, you are at Disney!!! Lighten up!! I felt so sorry for the man and little boy. Anyway.. back to the fun stuff.

Lawson is getting so big. I want to try to start taking his picture here every trip. :)

Soon after this pic, we were called to be seated. Our "cousin" showed us to our table and explained all about Ohana and how it means family.. And that means no one gets left behind. Love that!

I did see the pissy lady come in and get seated not far from us with her family and I am guessing the friends she was referring to earlier and you could just tell they were uncomfortable. Poor people.

I am sure it is hard to travel with others. It was hard traveling with my mom last year when she was sick but I don't think I let it show to other people. If I did, shame on me. Some friends of ours want us to go with them in Feb 2015 but these are friends that are very laid-back and just go with the flow. They have never been and they want to go with us so they can get a good feel for Disney with us and not miss the headliners. My other friend Betsy, went twice in the past two years and I will ask her " Did you like Splash Mountain" or "Didn't you love the electrical parade"? And she doesn't even know what I am talking about. For the LOVE of Pete. These two attractions are things I CANNOT and WILL NOT miss. :)

Anyway, back to Ohana.

We did Ohana last trip and just loved it and knew the boys would love it again. UMM. Wrong. Landen hated it and let me just tell you, HATED it. He spotted Pluto and commenced to screaming and I mean, SCREAMING to the point where he was red-faced and shaking. Stevie was rather embarrassed and I even thought about just taking him out and foregoing breakfast.

See... He was not impressed one bit.

He got so mad that this happened next.

Yep. Cried himself to sleep.

We ate our breakfast and waited for the characters to come around. Looks like Lilo was up first. Shhh- don't wake up the little bear. :)

Love Stitch!

Mickey is pretty much the bomb....

FAV!!!! I love this picture so much and I think of how sweet this will be when he is older... I couldn't help but think the entire time though, what if he wakes up?? He is going to FREAK. Thank goodness, he pretty much slept until it was time to go. ( Wipes brow)

I love Ohana and highly recommend it for breakfast. The food is great, the characters are fun in their Hawaiian wear and the Poly is such a beautiful resort to visit.

Up next: The Magic Kingdom!!! :)))

Don't you just hate it when there's that one person who stands around and complains like heck and they don't care who hears or sees them? Why can't people just suck it up and do their moaning quietly? Like you said, sometimes it can get hard traveling with others but you don't have to proclaim it to the world.

Oh poor little man! Maybe he was just tired or didn't feel well and that's why he didn't like Ohana this time. You can never tell with a little one.

Poor little guy!! He must have been exhausted! That's a cute pic with Mickey!

HAHA Landen looks REALLY excited in that first photo.

Oh my goodness, I can only imagine the heart attack from losing sight of your child, even for a second.

Your story of the crazy lady makes me enjoy my solo trips even more, I swear.

Aww Marcie, isn't it amazing how kids react to the characters. Come love 'em, some hate 'em. You just never know. I can definitely understand being a bit scared though. They're HUGE!

Oh yes, most definitely. Especially at Disney! Oh yeah, thanks for letting me know about the room discount coming out. I looked this morning but since we are considering just a weekend trip, may just do room only and buy tix from undercover tourist... Just need to price it all out and see. Hopefully a job comes through soon so Stevie will agree to it all. :) I want to see my nephew so bad!

Stay tuned bc the character meals do not get any better! LOL

I would love to do a solo trip too! Doing my own thing, riding whatever I want. HMM... Might have to seriously think about that.

The characters are pretty huge, now that you say that. Especially to a two year old.

Characters are a big hit or miss with kids. And it's amazing how one visit they can love them, the next be absolutely terrified. :confused3 At least Landen slept through all the would-be tramatic interactions while Lawson seemed to have a wonderful time. A win-win! :thumbsup2

And I couldn't help but laugh at the thought of Landen waking up to big 'ol Mickey in his face. THAT would've been an adventure. :lmao:

Oh yeah- Lawson had such a good time that morning!!!

It is a funny thought. I chuckle myself when I think about it... Lol!!

After settling our bill with our free dining plan, ( LOVE IT) we hopped on the monorail to head to my favorite place on earth, our beloved, MAGIC KINGDOM. :) I just love the first feeling of walking down Mainstreet USA and there are balloons flying, the Dapper Dans singing, children smiling..
The sights, the smells, EVERYTHING. How can you not love it?

First pic in the park

Lawson is such a ham. Posing like he is some sort of star or somethin'.

We had fastpasses starting at 11:05 a.m. for the new Little Mermaid ride in New Fantasyland so we had to high-tail it over so we wouldn't miss it.

I am all up in some Little Mermaid, huh? I think Stevie was trying to capture Landen's face because his face stayed lit up.

Those poor unfortunate souls....

I LOVED this new attraction. It is definitely one of my new favorites. The songs, the colors, the shells you ride in. It is all just perfect. Only Disney can pull all of this off.

After our visit under the sea, we headed on to Storybook Circus to make it before our fastpass time for Dumbo. On the way, we ran into this hilarious trio. They were cracking jokes and just plain acting like clowns, if you will. :)

If you ever see them out and about, I suggest taking hanging out and watching them for a few.

Now, if you didn't know by now, Dumbo has a queue where kids can play while you wait your turn. But, if you have a fastpass, you have to forego the queue and my kids were not happy about this at all. :( If we end up getting to meet up with my sister and nephew in May, this is where we want to pull off the surprise if it works out. Have the boys playing in the queue and casually "bump" into one another.. I smile just thinking about it and hope it all works out.

Well, I hate to cut this update short but my computer is acting up and I am afraid I am going to lose what I have so far. I hope all of my readers are staying warm. It was FREEZING here today. Lawson had a 2 hour delay this morning for school and they have another one tomorrow morning. It NEVER gets this cold here. All I can think about is sunny Orlando. I can't be the only one, right?

Aww, look at Laws in a superhero pose.

So glad you loved Ariel's Ride. It really is exactly what it needs to be.

OMG Marcie, that would be such a cool way to pull off a surprise. You'd have to make sure to have cameras ready for that.

Yup freezing here too!!! Stupid Polar Vortex.

Yes, you are right.. Exactly what it needs to be. That's it.

Lawson thinks he is a super model. This morning he said he didnt want to wear his winter hat because it would mess up his hair. LOL

We were all ready for Dumbo. I sat with Landen first and Stevie sat with Lawson. Landen especially loved it. His face stayed lit up the entire time. We weren't up in the air very long at all, came back down and then the ride stopped. We were asked to get off and wait for a few minutes. Now I am not sure what happened but they had to "run" the ride one time with no guests and then they let us back on. HMM. This time, Stevie and I switched riding partners. Lawson being the age of 5, wanted to shift the manuever up and down, up and down.

I think this attraction is so beautiful. I really wanted to ride it at night. I have seen so many pics in trip reports where it is all lit up and just gorgeous.

My happy boy smiling at his daddy and bubba!

Blurry but I still wanted to include.

My handsome men! Lookin' like twins!!

After we got off of Dumbo, we decided to head on over to Adventureland, as we were getting HOT and needed a drink and a snack and there had been some meltdowns and a tantrum or two by this point. Stevie took the boys with their strollers to get a ice cream and I stood in line at Aloha Isle to get my first dole whip of the trip. And let me just tell you too... This was my first dole whip.. ( Insert gasp). The CM working the register was from South Carolina too.

It's a small world after all... :cool1:

Sadly, I did not take a picture.. However, I can't even describe how refreshing and yummy it was. The ice cream, juice and pineapple is just perfect together. Stevie thought it sounded gross but I made a believer out of him too. :) We found a little spot near Aloha Aisle with a bench and some little rocks where Lawson perched himself and ate his snack. Here is a picture of him, fake smile and all.

The two girls sitting behind him were from England and Lawson kept looking at them smiling and then would smile at me since they sounded different than what he is used too.

After our delicous snack and much needed break, we headed out to ride Pirates of the Caribbean. POTC is one of my favorite rides at Disney. The darkness, the music, the little hills, the dog with the key and the jailers, I just love it all. It just reminds me of going to Disney when I was younger. Now, the wait time for this was 35 minutes. I was very surprised, as this is normally a walk-in when we go. However, the line ended up moving pretty fast.

Hanging out in line.

We rode with no incidents and the kids loved it. We ended up going in the gift shop since Disney so cleverly puts them at such great location, where you have to walk through to get out. Well played, Disney, well played. Lawson ended up getting a pirates sword and Landen got a Jake and the Neverland Pirates telescope toy. We also got some candy, in which Landy absolutely loved. The candy ended up being more of a bribe tool... :rotfl: He was starting to throw a tantrum and normally, I wouldn't bribe with candy with tantrum throwing but it's just different at Disney. It is so easy for kids ( and adults too) to get overwhelmed and exhausted, especially off your normal routine. Plopped him in his stroller and gave him a lollipop and all was right again.

From the looks of it, I guess we stopped and got some popcorn beforehand too.

Lawson doing his best pirate move.

After POTC, we had to head on to Splash, as we had another fastpass beginning at 2:05. Of course, Landen isn't quite big enough and Stevie doesn't care much for Splash so Lawson and I went on without them. Splash is also one of my favorites. Hence why I got a fastpass beforehand. I just love the colors, the songs, the anticipation of the drop. Most of my pictures are blurry so I won't post any, other than this selfie I took of us.

Love my boy!

Well, hate to cut this one short but have to go tend to Landen and get ready for Lawson to be home from school. Keep your fingers crossed I get a call about a job SOON!!!

See ya real soon!! :grouphug:
