I'm planning my ADR's for our upcoming trip. I've read a lot of mixed reviews about 50's Primetime Cafe both for the food and the service. I'm going with 3 kids 12,9 and 8. Is this a place that they would enjoy? If the service is really fun it would be OK if the food was just average since they aren't really that into a lot of different foods. Any thoughts?

I had the pot roast and it was really good. My husband had the meatlof and he ate it all up. Our sons 5 and 16 months had their typical hamburger and chicken fingers.
The boys thought it was funny because they made Daddy take off his cap and their grandmother kept getting fussed at for having her elbows on the table.

50's Prime Time is Great. We never had a bad experience and it's alot of fun. We always ask for Auntie Claire, she is a hoot. If your fine on getting somewhat yelled at, its a place to go and if your not I would not even attempt going.

I love Prime Time. DH doesn't like the interaction so much, so we do it sparingly. It's been a few years, so I'm not up on current reviews. But it's one of my favorite places. Love the meat loaf!

We've been there a total of 4 times on various trips and we've always had fun! The food is good, the interaction is fun and the S'mores are to die for!!!
Thanksgiving last year was a blast!! Aunt Jan is great! Make sure you mind your manners!!! :goodvibes

I really need to try this place again. When we went, the kids really enjoyed the atmosphere, but the food was only so-so.

I agree, the food was so-so but the interaction was outstanding. My DD still talks about how "she called Daddy Scooter"... It was hilarious. :lmao: :lmao:

We are also trying it for the first time this year. We have found that it is better to try it yourself since everyone has their own prefrences on eating places. We have actually found that some of our most favorites places, some have disliked and some that we have not liked at all, other have loved:)
Lloks like fun and worth a try!

We went for snacks at the end of the evening during EMH hours last week. Our service was fantastic. The kids loved the theming. The food, however, left something to be desired. The onion rings and french fries (large servings) were so greasy that we barely touched them. The Fried Herb Cheese, on the other hand, was quite small -- maybe 4 bites. The Dad's Super Sundae looked great, but tasted disgusting. The whipped cream did not taste like real whipped cream -- it wasn't rich tasting at all. The chocolate cake is heavy and tastes like something that has been kept frozen. Dd played with her Build Your Own Sundae but didn't eat any of it. Both boys enjoyed their PB & J milkshakes. We will go again because we enjoyed the theming so much, but we won't go expecting great food.

Thanks for all your help. I think we'll give it a try. It sounds like fun. Besides, with the Free Dining it's not like we're wasting money on a meal if we don't care for the food too much. Last year we came home with credits leftover!

It's a must do for us every trip from my DS11 to my DH and to me. DS and I love the chicken pot pie at lunch (we usually share so we have room for dessert cause it is really filling). It is fun too. Hope you enjoy. We haven't had anything there we haven't liked.

Me and my wife eat Lunch there every year on the day we goto MGM. It is one of the best burgers on property. They have good shakes also.

My family loves this restaurant! We all (myself, DH, DD-17 & DS-14) had the fried chicken dinner and everyone gave it :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 We're going back in December and it's definitely on our "must do" list again! :goodvibes

We've been several times and have never had a bad experience, nor a bad meal. Our faves are --

PB&J Shake -- Yummm!
S'Mores Dessert -- Yummo!
Fried Chicken -- this portion is so huge that we always split it.

We've had servers that really got into their part and some that were sort of laid-back. But never had bad service, nor bad food. Menu items have changed over the years, but we still keep coming back.

We have been twice; haven't had crazy interaction either time. But I thought the food was really good! I loved the onion rings, the fried chicken, the smores. (what a healthy meal!). We are going back again next trip! Maybe we'll get Auntie Claire this time.

We love it too! It depends on your server and day if they are more active or not, but I like the food and atmosphere with or without the interaction, so I say go! I just booked it for us!
