We have a day where we could have a late lunch at a restaurant at MGM, so which do we eat at. We are on DDP and have 2 adults, 1 Jr. and 1 child. The menus at both look good, but which has better food?

I voted for SciFi becuase my DW and I are going there for lunch in December. We have not eaten there since our first trip to WDW in 1989 with the kids. It was OK at that time. We have dined at Prime Time a couple of times and it was OK, too. We are doing it this time mainly for the nostalgia value. :goodvibes

Both are fun places, but we thought the food was a little better at Prime Time. Then again, we haven't been to either one of them in about seven years.

food is much better at scifi......i dont like the green beans and get abused at prime time. kids will like scifi better, i think.

i voted for 50's prime time, because i really enjoy the food there (especially the roasted pepper), and because it's a whole lot of fun!

I haven't been to Sci-Fi but I can say that I didn't really care for Prime Time so I'd say give SF a try.

the shakes at Sci-fi are wonderful, and DH loves the steak sandwich.

Food is only "okay" at both of these places but Sci Fi is a better lunch venue. Meals at 50's PT are heavy meals, even at lunchtime. And the milkshakes at Sci Fi are outstanding.

wow, i am so surprised at the responses...
we didn't like the food at the sci-fi at all...
we love the 50's prime time and eat there at least once each trip...

and speaking of chocolate milk shakes, they are to die for at the prime time cafe..

if you go there, when you check in, say you want a really active server....makes it even more fun....we love it there...

i always call a day before to arrange for tuna salad sandwiches for us...
they took it off the menu about 4 or 5 years ago...since then, i call 24 hours in advance and order them for us....no problem at all special ordering..

If you want a nice quiet lunch, I would go with Sci-Fi. We got a car for 4 and I sat with DS in the front and DH sat with DD in the back. It was so peaceful because usually the kids bother each other all the time. They loved the old sci-fi clips and they ate, looked at the screen, and we didn't hear a peep out of them. We ate dinner there and we enjoyed the butcher steak. Mine was a little fatty, but DS's wasn't and he gobbled it up. I got a chocolate shake for my beverage and it was yummy.

If you like "antics", go for Prime-Time. I'm not into that. I don't feel like pretending that the CM is my sister and "mom" is going to yell at me for not eating my vegetables. I just want to eat and relax and not be part of a show. We ate there a few times years ago and the food was nothing to write home about then.

I have never been to sci fi, but it looks really cool, with the cars and everything. But I'm not a science fiction buff, and the menu really didn't appeal to me, so we decided to forego it yet again this year.

As it happens, 50's Prime Time is also on the forego list this year, but not by my choosing. My friend wasn't as impressed with her food as I was with mine. I loved the fried chicken, the service, and the Smores! We got the really cool light up drink too.. but that was paid OOP, and the rest went on the DDP.

I think we may pop in just to have dessert this time! Mmmmm. I love Prime Time!

We ate at Prime Time 2 weeks ago, and just loved it. I had the pot roast and it melted in your mouth :thumbsup2
