5/30/2010-5 Night Disney Wonder Memorial Day Double Dip! Roster-Post 626 on page 42

Congratulations on the new house! :cheer2:
I added you to the FE list.
I was wondering when/where we might be able to meet up. Does meeting by the pool around 3 pm sound okay to everyone? When should the cut/off date be for signing up for the FE list? I'm thinking 2 or 3 weeks before the cruise??? Is that too much time/too little time.....???? I am clueless here........:confused3
I am most definately decorating my door. It makes it sooo easy to find our room.
Okay, getting a little more excited now............:cool1:

Sherrie

Our DIS meet was by the soda station on deck 9 around 2:45ish. We met for about 45 min, that way we wouldn't be late for the mandatory 4 pm Muster drill. That's where we put on our nametags, got to meet everyone, say hello, introduce ourselves and get the FE exchange list w/ room numbers.
I'm thinking the cutoff should be about 3 weeks before, that way everyone can get their gifts made/purchased/put together.

Okay, if anyone wants to see the updated FE list, it can be found on pg. 62, post #933. How does May 9th sound for a cut-off date to join the list? That gives you three weeks before the cruise. I was going to suggest that everyone on the FE list print their own copy of the list in case for some reason you are not able to meet. Or, maybe we can leave the list with Guest Services if you are not able to meet up with us. I like the idea of meeting around 2:45. Do we want to meet by the pool or drink station?
I'm so excited that our list is growing!!!!!!!!!:cheer2:

What we have so far:

1) SIGN UP FOR THE FISH EXTENDER GIFT EXCHANGE BY MAY 9TH! :flower3:

2) DIS MEET 2:45 DECK 9 SODA STATION/POOL

If anyone has any questions regarding the DIS meet, fish extender gift exchange or door decorations, feel free to ask away!! Many of us have done this before and can share our experiences! :cool1:

Count us in for the FE group! Sounds like fun. It'll be our first Disney cruise and our honeymoon :goodvibes-- me (Garrett) and my wife (Nikkie).

Now we just have to make a FE and figure out what to give...

Jacquelyn, it looks like we'll almost be neighbors on the boat-- we're in 6083.

Excellent FE participation! Having a cutoff date is a great idea.

Our door will definitely be decorated! I'm getting so excited. My niece is getting married in New Orleans next weekend and my sister and I are handling all the reception details, decorations, etc. I know once that's behind me I'll be even more excited and vacation mode will kick into high gear.

Garret, Congratulations! I added you to the FE list.:thumbsup2

Lisa, you will practically be in my neighborhood next weekend. Good luck with the wedding. :bride:

Looks like there are going to be a few of us on deck 6---6098 here. Cant wait til May 30Th!!!!!:cool1: The in-laws come down to visit next week and we keep telling them we are excited they are coming but the sooner they come and go the sooner we get to be on the Mickey boat(as my dd3 calls it).:rotfl2:

we are on 6 too !! Cabin 6576.

Disney 753, we are neighbors !!:thumbsup2

I haven't come up with any kind of unique FE gift yet. I am thinking and thinking. Did see a few cute ideas on Oriental Trader, not sure what to do.

Going to try and attempt the FE myself, with the help of my friend and her sewing machine. Don't think it will be overly fancy, but I have some ideas in mind.

Please add us to the fe! We are in two cabins: me, dh and dd10 in one and ds15 and ds 17 in the adjoining one. I'll have to look up the numbers later.
And Ducky Williams!!! Yippee!
How dressy is everyone going for dressy night?

Not too dressy. DH & DS(7) are wearing dress pants w/ shirt and tie. Both are in navy pants, light blue dress shirts and blue/gold ties. I haven't found anything color coordinated yet. Looking for dress or pants suit.

:thumbsup2 Got it! You can find the updated list on post #933 pg. 63

Please add us to the FE list. Very excited to be participating in this. Just spent a couple of hours (!) searching the threads for ideas on both the FEs and the gifts to go in them. I think this will be great fun! :cool1:

Only 49 days until we set sail! I can take it! I can take it! I can take it! :woohoo:

Honestly - for those who have done FE before ... how much time does it take? And how excited do your kids get?? This is our third cruise and we have not done it before. But I'm considering it again.

Also re: formal night - we are doing FORMAL. DH and DS are both wearing a tux. I bought my DS (age 5) a tux on ebay for $25. Did the same thing 2 years ago on our last cruise. I enjoy it - I know not everyone does. I just can't resist seeing both of my guys in a tux! And they don't complain :confused3 The girls in the family enjoy a opportunity to "dress up" also. Formal pictures with the captain and Captain Mickey are priceless.

Stitch 1313, I added you to the FE list.

Mrstimster, you are asking how long it takes for the FE.........are you asking how much time it takes to prepare them before the cruise, or how much time it takes to deliver them? I can't really tell you how long it takes to prepare them because it depends on if you make your FE gifts or just buy them.

Now, once we are on the ship and it's time for the exchange, you can pretty much deliver them anytime you want during the cruise. From what I've read and experienced on my last cruise, some families just made one delivery to all the participating rooms, while other families made a daily delivery. Now, this was on a shorter 3 day cruise and only 8 families participated.

We can decide as a group, esp. if our list continues to grow, how we want to work out the exchange.

I am sure some other veterans of the FE can give us some other suggestions.

If you want to bring things w/you for the FE's, is there anything that you really can't bring on the ship/thru customs?

I just made a purchase at Oriental Trader for some FE gifts. I was picking all these kiddie things out and then (luckily) I checked the list and realized most listed are adults. Yikes, had to revamp the buying a bit. Still I like what I got and I hope you all do too !!:thumbsup2

We're in cabin 6558.

The weather here in Louisiana is absolutely fantastic! When I left work yesterday evening, it was 83 degrees. Sunday DH and I took our bicycles to the military park in Vicksburg to ride the hills (we do this as often as we can) and it was so nice, I actually got a little start on my pre-cruise tan.

Now I just need some sand to put my toes in!

I updated the FE list with cabin numbers. The list can be found on pg. 63 post #933.

Now, if anyone participating in FE gets sprinkled with pixie dust and gets upgraded, or changes cabins for any reason, don't forget to let us know so we can make changes to your cabin number on the FE list.

Just a reminder to everyone that the cut-off date to join the Fish Extenders exchange is May 9th.

We are planning a DIS meet and greet on Deck 9 near the soda station/pool area at 2:45. Anyone can join us whether you are doing the FE or not.

We are getting closer!!!! :cool1::banana::yay::cheer2:
