Well, listen to all of you!!!

I still mow the lawn the old fashion way. "By myself"!! :cheer2:

Sometimes, DD and DW will watch me, but that's as much help as I get. Although they do tell me it looks nice after it's done. Not whining, just the facts maam!

Hey, I'm just going to jump right in here. My husband mows the lawn and he "needed" the landscaper type. I think his is 36 or 42" wide with two blades. You know the kind with the two handles on it that you steer with. We have 1/2 acre and it actually takes him less time with this new one. So, that was my alterior motive for getting it. So he wouldn't be out there all day!!! :goodvibes And being in NY state we only have to mow 6-6 1/2 months. Not too bad.

Just wanted to throw my 2 cents in on the conversation. Thanks for all the laughs.

Gosh, with a 1/2 acre you need all the mower width and horsepower you can get. Here in Albuquerque, with the Xeriscapes that are pushed, our lawn isn't very big at all. Probably takes me half an hour for both front and back. Not bad.

WHAT? With a teenager at home? That would never have flown when I was growing up. All of kids mowed the lawn, like it or not!

We've got about 3 hours worth here---not including trimming. And in the spring it's usually about ever 4-6 days!!! :earseek:

Just waiting around for my Cappy's pizza to get here......I'm so hungry!!!

We have an acre here and DH still has a self-propelled push mower. When he does edging & mowing, it takes 3 hours to do the yard! Thank goodness it's all bermuda sod so there's a reprieve during the winter (probably 5 months). I want to just pay someone but he won't have it. :confused3

I wish you would stop that pizza talk!!

I'm definitely have to try this stuff. :mickeybar

They do deliver, right??

When we lived in NH, we had 2 acres, and did it ourselves.... we moved to FL, where we have a 'postage stamp with a pool', and we pay someone to do it. Hmm... why didn't we figure that out years ago? (Then again, we were in the '6-month mowing' part of the country too, and had a lawn tractor.)

Been thinking about that CC thought... miss the boat, stay all week... I say we all do it!!! :sunny:

So it's the "Wooden Spoon Award" huh? Guess we can't make romantic by calling it the Golden Spoon now can we?

Oh, we've got plenty of time... by the time we sail, everyone will have earned an award for something!!!

You don't stir a pot with a silver spoon... it conducts heat.

So now you're pushing for the Albert Einstein physics award???

OK, if you insist......

 " Lightning, the thunderbolt from mythology, has long been feared as an atmospheric flash of supernatural origins: the great weapon of the gods. The Greeks both marveled and feared lightning as it was hurled by Zeus. For the Vikings, lightning was produced by Thor as his hammer struck an anvil while riding his chariot across the clouds. In the East, early statues of Buddha show him carrying a thunderbolt with arrows at each end. Indian tribes in North America believed that lightning was due to the flashing feathers of a mystical bird whose flapping wings produced the sound of thunder."
