Ohminnie...I hesitate to ask.....what's the story with Maggie? I haven't read, so I hope I'm not opening a sore subject......
Well, here's the story as I know it. I was instigating chaos over here!

Seems that she's a little ADHD (for lack of a better word) and when she gets excited she forgets the rules. So we'd be playing, she'd get crazy and bite at my foot and "roo" (not really a low belly gutteral growl) Well, I'd bend over and tell her firmly "Maggie, NO!" She would see me hunched over and take that as me wanting to play.

Then she's bite and "roo" and run around. At which point I'd lunge for her to try to get her to get her under control. That made her more crazy and so she'd run at me, snap and run away quick as anything.
Well....after a long talk with the breeder (who offered in a heart beat to take her back and replace her with a puppy from her next litter) and a lot of introspection (wouldn't it just be easier to label this dog as "aggressive" so I could be done with hair and poop and being 'tied down'??) we have come to the conclusion that more than likely *I* am the problem! How about that???
So I've been doing a lot of reading about dog behavior and signals and I'm turning into quite the "dog whisperer."

It's not perfect, she has had two "time outs" just today, but nothing has escalated into the frightening situations that were occurring before. Her general attitude lately has changed too. Instead of being a dog who could care less about us she has become very loving. She wants to be around us. She likes to be pet and scratched. She turns her belly up to us to scratch (a sign of sumbission)
Since we've tried to stop bullying our way to dominance she has become more submissive. Of course, as you can see by her "time outs" she still has problems here and there. The weather hasn't helped that as she's so cooped up and lacking exercise!
Anyway, that's where we stand. I'm heading to FL in 10 days....Mike will be alone with Maggie for a week. Maybe when I get home she'll be gone!
Sorry to hear there's been no word about Molly.
