I'm just doin' a little work towards that post goal............

I've read some of those shoe threads.............What are your opinions? How many of you have Crocs and/or Keens? I was at Dillards the other day and they have Crocs - they had the flip flops and the clogs with the holes. Actually I think they had the solid clogs too. They were all on one particular display area. I was walking around and on one of the tables they had a Croc Islander (I think that was the name). It was more of a shoe - had the holey type base and kind of a boatshoe type top - the leather across the instep with the leather shoe lace. They were cute in a funny kind of way. I didn't try them on. They, as well as the clogs, seem like they'd be hot. I also didn't feel like dealing with a salesperson - I hate that the shoe dept is on commission. I feel bad trying things on unless I know I'm going to buy. I shouldn't feel that way...... Do the Crocs provide much support? I need arch support. My feet are wide as well - seems like the Croc's would be good for that. I've been a birkenstock girl, but since I broke my foot a couple of years ago I feel better in my tennis shoes (side support). I did try on the Keen Newport H2 today at Sports Chalet. They were quite comfy for that short amount of time. I'm not too sure on the width - I couldn't decide if they'd bother me after awhile. I looked at the men's 'cause often they're wider, but they are higher on the side and I was afraid they might rub the ankle. I should have tried anyway. So, enough rambling! I guess I shouldn't have had that caffeine :teeth:
Sherry

My feet are really wide, and I need a lot of arch support. It took me forever to find a pair of sandals that I can wear around (and even IN) the water, but would be comfortable enough for walking on a tour. Finally found a pair of Nike. They aren't the most attractive, but they ARE comfy. They're the kind with the velcro strap across the top of the foot (near the ankle) and another across the widest part of the foot (just above the toes). Got them at Sports Authority about 5-6 years ago. Don't know what I'll do if they wear out!

Good Morning All - We had some nice rain yesterday as well....Today, I am off again, but Sam will be home as we are having more trees trimmed and cut down ( :sad2: ) - but it needs to be done....the poor birds are losing all their cover......but better trimmed so they can flush and come back then toppled over.....I am secretly hping that if we do all this work, we will not get a storm....(cross fingars smilie).

Stacey -- I met with the vendor this afternoon and turned in all the order. She wanted to know if there was any other address that she could ship to. All of her orders go out fed-ex ground. I told her you were out in the middle of the "boondocks" but that I would check with you.

AND BY THE WAY - WE CANNOT SAY THANKS OFTEN ENOUGH FOR ALL YOU HAVE DONE FOR THIS ---SO

THANKS

Pam huh!!!!!

As long as you can be 100% sure that it's FedEx Ground, and not FedEx Home Express, I can PM you the street address at the shop. That's where I get packages.
The problem with FedEx Home Express is that they start it out sending it FedEx, but when it gets to AZ, they hand it over to the post office. If it has a street address on it, our post office sends it back....they don't deliver to the street addresses. It's a royal pain in the ****.

PO will not deliver to street addresses????Here FedX will not deliver to PO Boxes, only Post office -- go figure :confused3

We are back. have been reading forever catching up on the thread. We had a Blast in WDW, rode EE only one time. Dominique wasnt impressed. We had fast passes for them and gave them away. she didnt like riding backwards in the dark. The weather was beautiful the whole time we were there. It wasnt too too hot and the wind was blowing most days. the crowds were about as we expected.

We are counting down the days until it is time to cruise. Sorry to all that got bad weather up in Atlanta this past weekend. Also to the folks that got the tornados(sp) last week.

We were outside doing yard work most of the afternoon. Starting back on our work week tonight. we drove home yesterday and had to go to work extra time.

think i am caught up now.

LAdypoo - welcome back and glad you had a good time at WDW - EE excluded....I have yet to make my maiden run.....

Leave it at home, the whole idea of being on a cruise to us is that we are away from it all, no computers, no phones and lots of relaxing.

Yes, I share this sentiment exactly --- I am fortunate that I have folks who will cover for me while I am away from work....

A Morning Top with Julia and not being at work....

This sounds like a reason to go shopping!!!!! And, while you're out, you might as well pick up another "cute" pair of black sandles. :rotfl2:

(DH can't understand the "need" for 10 pairs of black sandles)

Happy Monday to all! :thumbsup2

Fran
:teacher:

And here I am trying to see if I can wear the same black shoes for formal and informal nights -- maybe I ought to just pack both?????

Good Morning All - We now cruise with an over-the-door shoe holder. Somehow another pair of shoes appears with every cruise.

Today is the day I should hear if I got THE JOB. I applied to the company that provides landside service to Royal Caribbean in Baltimore. Only every other Sunday and Friday, very few grumpy passengers getting on and most in a rush to get off.

Sue

:flower1: Good morning cruisers! :flower1:

Happy Tuesday!

Sue - good luck on the job!

Pam - thanks for all your help getting the bag & t-shirt orders in! Can't wait to see them!

Oh my, I'll never cruise without my over-the-door shoe holder again!

At first we took it and hardly used it. Kept wondering why we'd haul something like that if we didn't use it. The last few cruises we've become very attached to it. LOTS and LOTS of stuff goes in there. All of those little things that just get set down and create clutter go in the shoe holder. Now everything is off the flat surfaces and the room stays much neater.

I do recommend the clear ones though so you can find what you stashed in there.

Oddly enough, we do not use it for shoes at all! :)

Pam, (and Maria) Thanks a million for everything you'd done to get the bags and shirts! I can't wait to get mine!! Then I'll know the cruise is REALLY close! (of course, then I'll realize that there is no way I'll be my pre-cruise goal weight either!)

Trying to decide if everyone having these shirts will make us blend in, or stick out! :lmao:

Karen we love our over the door shoe holder as well and don't put any shoes in it. We do put everything else in it like suntan lotion, shampoo, surf safes, etc.

I think it is perfectly fine for little boys to wear shorts and a nice shirt (either knit or cotton) to dinner. They need to be comfortable. Probably not on formal night, I think that calls for long pants...but I've seen a lot of cute little boys in cute little short outfits.
DS was 9 on our first cruise, and I had him in long pants for dinner every night. Same goes for this cruise, if we can get him out of the lab for dinner. I don't know what age would be the switch from shorts to pants in the dining room. Guess it depends on the boy.

We all have Crocs, they are great. So light and comfortable, you can definitely wear them with confidence on a full day in the parks. I like the ones with holes, I think they are called Cayman or something like that.

John complained about packing the shoe holders for our first Disney Cruise (he thought I was crazy for spending so much time on the boards) - takes up too much room, blah blah...

About 2 days in he thought they were the great especially for all the stuff that accumulates. One for stuff and one for shoes (he's the one who chooses and packs my 10-12 pairs....;) This was the first time we cruised with the kids and the little stuff just multiplies so fast...

Mike did wear long pants to dinner every night. The air conditioning was freezing and he gets cold very quickly. Occasionally, he'd head back to the room to change - but, more often than not he couldn't wait to get to the clubs so, couldn't be bothered to change.
