:jester: Happy Mardi Gras !!! :jester:

I know it doesn't mean much to all of you, but I'll say it anyway. Mardi Gras is still one of my favorite times of year even though we don't live in Louisiana any more.

We have found that our DVD recorder has to be updated when we switch to and from Daylight savings time. We've recorded much junk too, and missed shows we really wanted to see. Does the Tivo have the same problem?

Weird. We've never had that problem unless the channel changed what it was going to broadcast. For example, the kids had a season pass to Hamtaro, but then the Cartoon Network yanked it and so everything labeled "Hamtaro" was actually their new show.

They also gave me a Flash Drive, so that I can back up my files. Funny, it comes with a lanyard.....still trying to figure out why I would want to wear my files around my neck. ?? :confused3

Mike got me one of these for Christmas and I thought "ohhh....ahhh...got the receipt??"

It comes in QUITE handy!! Like last weekend when KT and I went to the scrapbook crop...I didn't have time to print my pictures here. So I loaded them all on my flash drive and took my Picture Mate. Voila....printed them as I needed them. We also use it to take things to the relatives..."here, let me show you our 15,000 pictures of the cruise." (no it's not THAT bad!)

Thanks for the reminder of why I am taking my computer in today for service. I ordered some more USB ports and a new DVD burner. While it's in the shop they are going to install some new virus software. I'm still having problems with Norton so we are getting away from that. When I get my new DVD burner I will need to make some backups.

Wow. All this talk about taking the computer in for service. Makes me thankful that I have "tech support" right here at home. If the computer is SO fried that it's unrepariable, he builds me a new one! :)

And, I don't know how, or where, but it completely backs itself up every night to a separate hard drive. And I think simultaneously writes to two hard drives or something. All the program files are on one, all the data on another. I dunno. All greek to me. :lmao:

Yep! My favorite too! :woohoo: It's Crawfish Season!!! :woohoo:

Houston Rodeo and Livestock show starts today! Yee Haw! Time to pull out the boots - We're going tomorrow - not a big country music fan - but, Trisha Yearwood is the featured entertainer...

Good morning everyone. Chilly day here in NY, but not as windy as yesterday. Going into my DS's 1st grade class today to help out. They are sooo cute. Then it's off to our brand new Best Buy. Just opened Saturday. I'll be like a kid in a candy store.

So everyone have a great day and see you back here later. Try not to talk too much while I'm away.

Stacey - sorry to hear about your computer. I'm sure you'll be up and running again soon. Makes me wonder now about mine. The kids are using my old one and it still has info on it that I use. Hmmm..maybe doing a backup would be good. Gotta go to Best Buy for sure now.....

TTFN,

Okay, so I lied...I am here this morning.
Laura....safe travels!!
Thanks, MARK, for the link..I bought magnet paper yesterday to do my door signs, too. Gotta have something out there for Matt to stick to the ceiling.....unlike Karen's Dad, though, I hope he's wearing pants!
Glad (not) to be of help with everyone else's computers. Guess I need to remember that, like a car, they need maintenance. Reminder to all: I had the oil changed in the Yukon, and am having the Equinox done, too.....so don't say I didn't warn you.
Guess what we might get today?? RAIN! It's only been like, 140 days or so....probably should have built an Ark.
Checked the progress yesterday at the apartment remodel...it's gorgeous. I may need to move in there. It's on the "right" side of the creek, as opposed to the house being on the wrong side.
I got a looong lesson on why Norton isn't the best way to go for anti-virus. Not to mention the amount of space it uses, but also something along the lines of "it tries to do so much, that it's concentrating on the big picture, while letting some things slip by". That was a non-geek (or Greek) translation. I forget now which one they are installing. I also learned about eMachines (never heard of them) and all about why MAC isn't necessarily the best way to go. Sorry, Virgil. So I got another HP. The cool thing is that this one will allow me to copy from disk to disk, w/o having to download to the computer. Okay.....NOW I AM excited about it.
Best hit the shower, I have a 10:00 appt before I can go get the new toy.
Kevin....there was snow covering the ground when I got to Omaha, but my sunshine melted it by the time I left. Yet another reminder of why I moved here!
TTYL

Stacey, you're getting darn good with that Treo. The new computer is going to seem too big.

I have Norton, and for some reason a free subscription though 2029. Dell apparently made a mistake, but I will keep it until this computer dies!

Could we do a shot of Grand Marnier, instead of a cognac? Good price for a bottle on the ship. That will be my souvenir this time.

I woke up to five e-mails from a lady in Australia. She couldn't understand why I wasn't answering her. Sheesh. New Ebayer, desperately wants to buy a pair of Springolator shoes I have listed. But I don't take Paypal from new International bidders, so we're negotiating.

Tea on Thursday would be fun! But I didn't see any tea reservations available yesterday morning. What time are you going, Pam?

My tea time is for 3 p.m. on Thursday.

If we're making our shot requests now, make mine Patron... and I'll take that RIGHT NOW... with the day I'm having, I can't wait til we cruise.... besides, its the same price onboard as it is here...

I've been listening to WWOZ, a N.O. jazz radio station on the internet, all morning. They are live in Mardi Gras and it has been fun.
