In the choice between taking Karen's kids or Irene's cats - I'll take the kids, at 18 you'll have them back just in time for college and those expenses. :rotfl2:

You might think otherwise if you were at our DIS-meet on Sunday, having lunch with my mexican-jumping-bean, I mean DS. Ask anyone who was there... he's got more energy than a roomfull of cats. And DD, well, as long as you can handle a bossy drama queen, you're all set.

Did I tell you I really DO love my kids???

Woo hoo... a TOPpirate: shared with Mickeymo:earsgirl: DS:bounce: , DD princess: , and some :cat: .

Took myself to the dr. last night. I have an upper respitory infection and the beginning of a sinus infection. I actually opted to get a shot last night. You know it's bad when I agree to get a shot! I also got antibiots and cough med with codeine. I finally slept well last night.

Angie

Glad you are taking care of yourself......get more rest - it may be a rainy weekend as well up north???

Pixie dust and prayers for my brother please. My mom just called. Someone has contacted him about possible employment. He would have to relocate to Lafayette, LA but that's ok with him. That's where he went to college. It's only an hour from where we grew up. If the person that had the job is not willing to relocate, the job will be offered to my brother. He had a job in New Orleans but it was a temporary sort of thing. This would be in graphics which is in line with what he wants to do.

Good luck to those in the path of Ophelia.

Angie

If it would just decide where it wants to go. It is just sitting here on the coast, not moving. Sounds like someone I know when they are in their chair, with the remote and a beer.....can't get them to move! :rotfl:

Sounds like my ex - he moved to Fl.

Can someone come up with some GOOD news?

Angie....Good luck being sent to your brother.... and I hope you feel better!!
Sounds like we are getting all of our sickness and medical issues out of the way all at once. Maybe that means we'll all stay healthy for the rest of the year! ::yes::

Irene....poor kitty! I don't care if it's kids or pets...there's always something going on, and it isn't fun.

Maria....great news about the house. I know how exciting that is....it's a loooong road, but so worth it! :Pinkbounc

Cloudy here and raining. Not a lot of rain right here at the house, but worse, it's raining in the mountains....what goes on up there must come down here...in the form of a flooded creek. :sad2: Normally, we know we have 3 hours before it gets down here, but after the fires I have no way of judging that. I really really need to go to work, but I may be best off to just stay put for a while.
Maybe I will sit on the couch and do LAUNDRY. ;)

Sounds like you are talking about MY kids...

Maggie brought her "All about me" book home yesterday that she wrote the first week of school. Her answer to "The best thing about me is..." - being a drama queen... :rotfl2:

I should have some good news any minute... my SIL & BIL are in the delivery room as we speak... scheduled c-section...

And the 11AM update of Ophelia looks better than the 5AM one did!!

I have had people sign three new contracts for work this week!! We have projects in the schedule that will last into Christmas time.

I love my wife and family

and (DW will love this one)

I'm in town this weekend!! :earseek:

How's that??

OK... good news... SHE'S A GIRL!!!

8 lbs., 8 oz... unnamed as of yet... (and we are anxiously awaiting the verdict... the names they have picked out are...um... unusual... yeah- that's a good word... unusual.)

So, 18-month old Calvin now has a baby sister. That's good news!!

I'd love to hear the names. We have some friends that have unusual names for their sons. When they were expecting the 2nd, they said that they couldn't name him a "normal" name since the 1st didn't have a normal name.

Well lets see... last time we spoke to them about names, they had it narrowed down to the following choices (keep in mind, at the time they didn't know what they were having)...

Girl: Ava (that one's OK) OR..... OLIVE (um... no comment)

Boy: Bronson (not awful, but not what I'd name a baby) OR... AUGUSTUS (um... thankfully, its not a boy.)

And their first is Calvin... which isn't what you'd consider a 'normal' name...

Congratulations Aunt Kiki!! :cake: princess:

Kevin....I liked your good news too !!

Almost Friday works for me also. :flower:
