I thought it would be a great gift, to get lawn maintenance folks out here once a week for $27 (not bad I thought) to keeo the yard clean. Any other guy would be thrilled, right??? Not my DH........he seemed disappointed...and I took the kids out this morning so he could have some peace and quiet and guess what??? He did the lawn!!?? I have these people scheduled to come out 2mrrw..............

I'm not one of them, but some guys find it relaxing to work on the lawn and outdoors especially if they are inside all week. Might this be the case here?

Click on "Edit" - bottom right corner of the post - shows up next to "Quote" when you are the author.

Monica was quicker - THIS TIME!!!!

JIm has tired of reading by the pool, sleeping in the hammock, and has now moved inside for a nap in air conditioning.

Good thing he decided to head inside before the sky opened up!!! I had just gotten myself settled in my pool float with my Gosling's & Coke when the thunder started... so much for that...

Had Ray's Dad & two other family friends (Dad's without families nearby) over for a bbq lunch, then hung out and watched the race by the pool.

Gotta love Lisa's idea... aren't tween-aged girls so thoughtful sometimes???!!

I really wish that had been a BARETENDER at the Rose & Crown last year!!;) :rotfl:

If anyone is interested, I posted our trip report on the thread for the Mexican Riviera cruise that we were originally scheduled to go on. I had thought that they would be the only ones really interested.....
It's on the cruise meets board under "August 6th Mexican Riviera"

Is it live or is it Memorex?

Scoopie's website is updated with Stacey's Scoopie picture pictures (not a typo :teeth: ) from her Mexican Riviera cruise!!! Thanks Stacey!!!

Scoopie should be checking in soon from his Alaskan cruise, can't wait to hear about his adventures - he was due to get back this weekend.

Brag Warning!

Stop reading if you don't want to hear me brag about Jared! :teeth:

Jared's baseball team had their Tournament of Champions game last night. They won their division up north here, so they went in to play a team from Phoenix. They lost, 7-2....but.....we were down 5-0 with bases loaded and Jared came to bat, 4th inning. It was just in the last few months that Jared would even swing at the ball since breaking his nose (and having surgery) twice playing ball.
So....he gets up to bat, and ....with a full count....swings....hits.....the ball flies out and hits the center field fence post. One more milimeter and it would have been a home run! As it was, two runs scored on his RBI, their only runs of the night!!!
He became an instant star. To say we were all proud would be an understatement!:cool1:

:cheer2: Did I miss this update? I found it while looking for your trip report, Stacey... Way to go Jared!!! :cheer2:

have we gone from stirring to sitting???

yes, Mr. Scuba is very good at sitting the pot. He's been doing it for months now. I say a little metamucil is in line!

btw, I'm back...
going to try to catch up on posts!

I just finished adding pictures of the Mexican Riviera cruise to my album...there are 2 pages, and unfortunately, the pics go from the end of the cruise to the beginning. Will have to remember to post them backwards next time!

oh how cool! I read A Long Way from Chicago last year and loved it - I try to keep up at least with the Newberry Awards in Children's Lit.

Crowd control in Central Illinois???? didn't know there was such a thing... ;)
That's the first book that is set in Cerro Gordo. The other one is A Year Down Yonder. We live close to Coffee Pot Circle, where the cafe used to be that was shaped like a coffeepot. The town was founded by the Peck family, and there are many of his descendants still here. Mr. Peck drew a crowd from about a fifty-mile radius.

Ok, all caught up....
just not a lot to comment on. Pretty tired. A weekend of camping, the great outdoors and sleeping on a bed that transforms into a dining room table can take it out of me. Especially when my mom insists on digging through the silverware drawer by my head at 6:00 each morning!!!

Went into Amish country one day and went to an Amish pet store (did you know such things existed?) Anyway....there was this CUTE CUTE CUTE little boston terrier/beagle mix that just melted into us when we held her. Just the biggest lovey dog you could imagine. NOTHING AT ALL like Maggie who could have cared less if we existed! Tried to talk my dad into getting her....even offered to buy her for him for Father's Day, but he wasn't biting. (neither was the dog) so today he got a card! ha! should have taken up our offer to buy him a dog!

Tomorrow starts our busy season...VBS, then a week off, then camp, then 3 weeks of acting classes downtown. Wow! By the end of July I'll be ready for summer vacation! :)

Yeah, sure ya are! I notice that little sarcastic wink at the end.

We talked about you at the campsite. Trying to figure out how to sneak wine into the dining room without a huge carafe (for 4 ppl) I'm thinking one of those hats with the hose that hangs down!! HA!

Greetings all! Just got in from Illuminations the second night in a row. Tonight was dinner at Rose and Crown with the bride and groom from last week. We were able to get an outside table. I was a little disappointed at first since it was off to the side and under the awning. However when the sky opened 1/2 way through dinner we were very happy. Scott, Erin and Mark were able to move closer to see Illumnations before dessert. A wonderful evening all in all and the end to a great day.

Kevin and I stopped by the store on our FLL trip. We spent only $10 and that to get the reel for our dive flag. It was a minor miracle that our credit cards were not smoking. DWs do not know how close we came.....but than again, we had not room for any more dive gear!
That WAS pretty amazing! What was even better was my restraint at the Fill Express store!! But, I was saving money for the next two weeks of diving and Disney. They both can add up quick!! :earseek:

Sounds like heaven!! :cloud9:

Although, under protest from the DW I went diving........ Got her so tense, she was misspelling words.
