Here's praying dh's eye surgery goes VERY well. I'm ALL too familiar with eye surgery around here....of course, nothing so easy as lasik surgery!!

Where is "cupcake" these days? Did everything finally come out ok with his 2nd surgery. He posted a lot in the beginning but haven't "seen" him around here at all lately. I hope everything is ok with him.

I'm ready for the weekend already! :cool1: I'm hoping that Bruce & I can have a date night since my parents will be here.
Angie

Scubamom and I have one Friday night because both kids are gone. It sure is a lot easier with Matt being gone for 6 weeks.

Which, btw, is what you are referred to as around here....

as in...

"Mary, mother of Bear PM'd me today about our cruise."

If I just say "Mary" SOMEONE will say "do you mean Mary, mother of Bear?"

:) :)

Better than being called Mary, the idiot with the bug bite. :)

LOL!!!

:rotfl2:

Well, obviously the bugs in St. Lucia had good taste....or at least thought you tasted good!

Excellent. Top shared with Mary and the insects of St. Lucia! :)

If he's not at work, I keep him locked up in the basement so he can't cause trouble.

No, actually, he thinks you guys are all psycho internet people and he wants nothing to do with you.

No, actually, he's just very busy with work and writing and doesn't carve out time to be on the boards.

No, actually, he spends every waking moment planning ways to make me happy and he doesn't have any spare time. :)

Now, which ones of those are you going to buy?

Btw, his second eye surgery did the trick. There was a LOT of follow up appointments and they did have to laser out a suture that they had put in, but finally everything has stabalized and he feels like a kid again---well, at least his left eye does! :)

I vote for this one. Figured you learned a lot of training methods with the Beast and are just applying them to Cookie now.

Now, now, now.....animals and humans should be treated in much different ways. That's why with Maggie I NEVER turned the shock collar higher than level 3, but with Cupcake I can go much, much higher!

I just have to make a comment about ebay buyers. Are they CRAZY?????

Ok, I put something on ebay today that, after having done research, should go for $10 or higher. I started the auction at $0.99. Within a couple of hours the goofballs have bid it up to over $8.50.

With 6 days and 22 hours left, why bid it up? Why not wait until the last day and go in for the kill? Ok, Ok, admittedly, nearly all ebay auctions that I win are won in the last 30 seconds (my first bid being about 45 seconds before the auction ends) I'm sure I've ticked off quite a few people, but why jack up the price by bidding on it early?

I had to laugh at that one... one of the guys (idiots) that I work with decided to see how much shock a dog collar really produced... by testing it out on himself... NOT A SMART IDEA!!!! Needless to say, his elevator doesn't go all the way to the top.

My BIL did this. They have a big dumb lab and they put in an invisible fence. They dog would SIT on the fence line with the power turned ALLLLLL the way up. Finally, BIL couldn't stand it any longer and after many expletives (for him, expletives are his primary language) he ripped the collar off the dog, put it on himself and marched over to the edge of the yard. The shock knocked him on his but and momentarily knocked him out. Too bad my sister was there to pull him away from the fence line (did I say that out loud??)

Sounds like there is a story....I love a good story...

Well Karen gave some insight into it. While on St. Lucia we went on an excursion called Pirates In The Caribbean. Great excursion where you go on a pirate ship and sail around. They took us to Pigeon Island. You could swim there or you could hike up to this great look-out point. We opted for the hike. Now in case you don't know this about me yet I'll tell you know. I'm a worry wart and can sometimes get impatient. So the guide tells us we have so much time on the shore and if we want to go up to the point we can take one way which will take 15 minutes or the "shortcut" which takes 10 I think. So the worry wart picks the shortcut. Well this shortcut had us walking through the trees and up a steep hill. We get to the one look-out and I am beat. I couldn't climb any more so Mark went up the rest of the way without me. We go for the longer, slower way back. While walking back I felt something strange on the underside of my arm - like a big bump. :scared1:

We get down by the water and there is Nurse Karen and Dr. Mike. I show him my bump and he tells me it looks like a bug bite that might have gotten infected. Karen asks if I have Neospoin in the room which we do. We should be good to go if we just put that on it. So we are back on the pirate ship, enjoy the ride back and go back to the ship to change and drop off some stuff before shopping.

I go in the bathroom to change and get the first look at this bump. Only problem is the bump is gone and my arm now has a black and blue bruise on it about the size of a cup saucer. Ok I'm in panic mode now. The medical center isn't open yet. So we chance and go out shopping. Coming back we run into Karen and Mike again. I show him my arm. He advises that I go to the medical center as the doctor will most likely put me on antibiotics.

A few hours later the medical center opens and I go. Mike was right. I get antibiotic cream and also oral antibiotics. The doctor lances the bite. We never did find out what kind of bug it was .

Of course this all happened on Pirate night when I was planning to wear a sleeveless dress (the picture from that night is in the photo gallery). So I'm walking around all night telling my story and showing everyone my bruise. I embarassed Mark, but I figured better to be upfront then to have people see the bruise and think that Mark was beating me up. :)

So there you have it - the story of the idiot who visited paradise and ended up with a bug bite.

Now you know why I like "Mary, mother to Bear" so much better.

Glad we could be there to help. :) I think it was amazing how we just bumped into each other at the gangplank....you coming back in from shopping, me heading out after plunking the kids down to watch Pirates in the Buena Vista Theater :)

a few fries short of a happy meal, huh? :rotfl2:

Actually, in my line of work, it's a couple longnecks short of a six-pack...

Boy, wouldn't it be nice if this one was true???

Glad to hear that everything went well with his 2nd surgery. Bruce is resting his eyes now. I had a rough night being a single mom with the girls for the 3rd day straight. I don't know how single parents do it!

You would only be an idiot if you had provoked the bug!
And to really appreciate this particular story, you needed to SEE the bite! Gave me the willies just looking at it.

Well, Gus....are you joining us?? There is no better education than travelling the world and learning about other cultures. (That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!)
