Stacey, better get Jordan a copy of Gwen Stefani's new single. I bet they pick that one. "I ain't no hollaback girl". Very catchy.

She's got it.....she said that would be a good one, and that they could make up their own routine "easy".

Dance lessons. Just remember, smile, encourage, praise, rinse, repeat. Try not to lead! Men have it twice as hard, they have to learn to lead AND learn the steps. It never hurts to go with another couple and switch partners occasionally. Women are less likely to try and lead a non-spouse. And try not to grin too broadly when the instructor takes you for a spin!

:rotfl2: Just before our wedding and newly married, we took lessons...Some of our biggest fights were over who was leading...I always said, that if he would just lead - I wouldn't have too...must be from all those gym classes when the boys wouldn't touch a girl and we wound up dancing with other girls...

Our loudest arguments always occurred during the swing and polka - my two favorites...John never laughed so hard as when the instructor sailed over and cut in on John and proceeded to fling me across the dance floor in complicated steps and patterns trying to break me of leading...we've forgotten so much...

Alicia said they will need to get a copy of the radio version, the CD version has a bad word in it. That's not very Disney-like!

Just another excuse for a pre-cruise meet. "But Mom, I need to have you take me XXX miles to her house, that's where we are going to rehearse!!!"

Sharon, you got the TOP of page 350! :cheer2:

It's bad enough taking her all over kingdom come here......tough living in the sticks....but Albuquerque is waaaaay too far! They'd just have to start practicing on Day 1.
Video rehersals!!

Internet!!

Better way!! Come on, they LOVE that stuff!!

Would it surprise anyone to know that when Jay & I dance, I lead??? :confused3

Maybe the girls can go over some ideas at WDW.......that's a start, anyway. Jordan had to get an "edited" version of her music for her dance, and for the song she's singing at graduation. And the graduation song is Country! Go figure.

Sharon, that's great! Take him up on it, quick! We WILL be taking up ballroom dancing again. I want to cruise the Queen Mary for our 25th, mainly because of its ballroom.

Diana - I think you misunderstand - I am the one hesitant to take the dance lessons. I can certainly appreciate those who have natural grace on the dance floor, I just don't have that grace. I have danced with Matthew for the Mother / Son Dance at Cottillion (he is very patient with me and doesn't laugh at me because he knows it would hurt my feelings). Jim will get that opportunity this year with Lisa. She begins her Cottillion Classes in the fall. The classes end with the Spring Ball. At the very end, the parents are allowed to attend and see their child dance. Then they end the night with the Father/Daugher and Mother/Son Dance. Lisa can dance and so Jim will really enjoy this. (If nothing else, she is so small and light, he can just pick her up and twirl her around with no worries of stepping on her toes)

Greetings all from Milwaukee, WI. Doing a short little getaway. Went to a family function back home, then headed up here. Dinner at a great German place tonight and then back to the room in time to watch the Nascar race. Tomorrow we got to a museum in the morning then the real reason for the weekend The Irish Tenors in concert tomorrow night.

Will most likely check in sometime tomorrow.

Well, we didn't have Banfi with the paella, but we're drinking it now with the Chocolate Decadence cake. Which Kevin says it's equivalent to the flourless chocolate cake at F&W. The paella was excellent, all ingredients fresh from Whole Foods, including the cake. We did it with chicken, mussels, shrimp, clams, artichoke hearts, and arborio rice. Peas, tomatoes and saffron of course. Really good and worth all the trouble. And we have leftovers!

I even rented Shall We Dance, Kevin hasn't seen the new version. He's taking Alicia to the skating rink to meet a friend.

Yes, I can see Jim and Lisa dancing together. Cotillion isn't big here. Alicia used to love to dance with Kevin, but not since she hit her teens.

Mary.....hope you're having fun and enjoying your time off!!

Jay wanted us to go to the cabin tomorrow. I just don't think that appeals to me as something nice for Mother's Day...so.... ...instead I think I'll reorganize my toiletry bags for the cruise, take Jared to get new shoes (fourth time this year)....and maybe, if I'm really nice.....
I'll get to go to Taco Bell for Mother's Day again this year!! WHOO HOOOOO!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY, MOMS.....AND A BEAUTIFUL SUNDAY TO EVERYONE!

It's Mothers Day and it's the first year I am not cooking dinner. The kids are! :cool1:

It should be interesting. They are starting out with a seafood boil for lunch and then they are cooking a prime rib for dinner. Thankfully Sharon kept her menu selection to something easy for the kids.

They also get to wax Mom's car. I can't wait for Father's Day when I get my car done.:flower:

:flower1:Good morning cruisers!:flower1:

Blessed Sunday!

A very happy Mother's Day to all the mom's and grandma's in the cruise group. Enjoy your special day!

I'd say that is working out.

Let them practice on Moms car first............ :earseek: oops, you missed a spot!

Happy Mother's Day all. I have been away from the Boards for the last couple of weeks. Took a while to get through all the posts while I was gone.

Things are a little crazy here. my folks came into town on April 27 and were only suppoed to be here for a few days, but they are still here. My dad started having chest pains after they got here. Took him in to my dr. then got referred to a cardiologist. Spent a 2 whole days at dr.'s and getting tests done. He now has to have a angiogram as they have found a blockage in at least one artery. He had quintuple bypass surgery in 1997 and had a lot of complications, so we are all pretty worried. Unfortunately, we are having problems with the insurance, so we are having to wait to have the procedure done until that gets worked out.

In between all of that, we are having a very busy time around here. DS was in two orchestra competitions last week, as well as a big 2 day swim meet for my DD. Yesterday was my niece's college graduation and today is Mother's Day celebration at BIL's house. BOth of these are about a 45 min. drive from my house.

This next week we have another busy week. DD has another 2 day swim meet and her annual dance recital, of which she is in 2 numbers. We will have to go straight from swim meet to the dress rehearsal then a couple of hours of rest before the 7 p.m. recital. THen of course hubby has to leave the following Monday morning for Georgia for a week of training. So many events that week with it being so close to the end of school. And my dad's surgery will probably be that week to.

The good thing, our WDW vacation is only 29 days away. I really need this vacation right now.

BTW, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DIANA, and Happy Anniersary as well.

Happy Mother's Day!

Pam - sorry to hear about your dad - hope that he does OK....

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms and grandmas out there... and Happy Day to everyone else. Ray is working today, so Mother's Day is a non-event this year. If I'm lucky, he'll make it home in time to go out for dinner. When we lived in NH, Mother's Day was always the day that we left for our 7-day cruise to Bermuda... boo-hoo!!! (Though, talking to my Mom, its about 45 and windy there today... not good sailing weather!!!)

My kids are being demon-children today, so I've been playing referee, maid, and my usual host of weekend occupations. If bedrooms get cleaned in time, we'll probably hit the beach for awhile. With how beautiful our weather's been since yesterday, I have to think that OhioMinnie is on her way back home.

Glad I'm not the only one who has a crazy week... tomorrow night is Middle School Parent Orientation, Tuesday is the dentist appointment from he**, and its all downhill from there... I leave for CT on 5/18... that's the next time that I have a minute to myself, I think!!! Hope everyone has a great week!

:flower3: Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms!

Just back from breakfast, seems to be popular activity for Mother's Day. I maintain that I get to do whatever I want for the rest of the day!

Pam, hope all goes well with your Dad. You're probably glad he's there.

Mary, have a good trip!

Sharon, hope your car turns out OK. I'm sure the food will be good.

And Stacey, good job on ducking the cabin trip!

Pam, lots of Pixie Dust and prayers for your dad......the insurance is a pain, but glad he's there with you.

Karen.....get out the duct tape and bungee cords......use them on the kids....and then do nothing for the rest of the day. Ray can "unwrap" them when he gets home. ;)

Jim.....what are YOU doing for the mother of your children??????

It's noon....I'm still in my pj's. I figure that's okay, since it's Mother's Day. But what's my excuse for the other 364 days a year???

IF my little darlings get their rooms semi-done, we'll go to Desert Ridge. Outdoor mall.
If they don't, that's okay with me.....I'm not the one who needs/wants to buy anything!!

Have a nice day everyone!!
