It's always a challange to find the time to work out. BUT, it's for you! So just set up the time and do it. Don't just "find" time, it will never work out.

And smile, it's a good thing!

You are a brave man to pipe in with a comment like that while ladies are talking about exercising. You probably sound like most of their husbands.

Good luck and keep your head down. Your DW hasn't read this yet! :rotfl2:

I am ever-so-mightily resisting the urge to remark on this! Nope, gonna be good.

I have a membership at Curves. I've made a commitment to myself to get back in there. It's actually kind of fun to go there. It's quick, the music is good, and to me it's better than doing nothing. I felt the need to defend Curves, because my friend thinks it's a waste of time if you aren't lifting weights.
Jay doesn't say a word to me about my weight, since he hasn't done anything about his, either. Granted, I need to lose way more than he does, but it's nice that he doesn't bug me about it.........

Sorry...had to come back.....Okay ladies, band together now....and you, too Mr. Scuba for being so nice......I think we would have plenty of time to excercise IF:
We didn't do the laundry
We didn't cook dinner, serve it, and clean up while DH is watching TV
We didn't bathe the children (for those with little ones)
We didn't clean the house
We didn't run errands for the kids and the "busy" Dh's
We didn't do ALL of the household shopping (No one ever reminds me when we need toothpaste, toilet paper, DH's special shampoo....somehow I just KNOW these things, and they get magically replaced!)
We didn't keep the checkbook
We didn't pay all the bills
We didn't organize the kids' schedules
We didn't run the kids all over town to their activities
We didn't have a "REAL" job on top of all this

Okay, I feel better now............slinking away...........

I did read his comment. And thought it best not to reply. But Stacey, you said it better anyway.

You forgot to say, we WOULD exercise if we had any energy left (and if someone would make dinner while we do it).

Everything Stacey said is true, but in my case there is something more. My addiction. Ok I've been trying to hide it, but I'll come clean now.

My name is Mary and I'm addicted to the DIS boads. :disrocks:

Hi, my name is Maria and I'm addicted to the DISboards. :grouphug:

Men just don't get it. Really, they don't. That's why if I'm reincarnated I'm coming back, definetly as a MAN and my occupation will be a meteorologist. What a job!!! Never have to right...what are they going to do, fire you?? :rotfl2:

I really can't complain..my hubby is very good. He cleans, cooks, and takes care of the kids. Not like I would, but hey, take the good with the bad. But I'm right there with you women. We're just wired differently and feel that our responsibilities are different. I won't get into it anymore than that. We could have a full day discussion on this one.

TTFN,
Maria

What? That's not exercise???? - upper body toning with lifting of laundry, groceries, milk gallons, liquid laundry soap, mopping, vacuuming to name a few...not to mention in a 2 story house - we have a built in stairmaster - carrying the laundry baskets and other various trips up and down the stairs; if we're lifting young ones - there's still more lower body work...agility and balance training trying to negotiate through the kids' rooms without bodily injury...plus then there's the ab work - sitting up in bed in the a.m. and laying down at night - that sounds like all the major muscle groups to me...:rotfl2: ...

Wow, there for a minute I thought you had peeked in on my life. But you lost me on the "REAL" job part. Guess I *should* have time to exercise.

I did rejoin Curves recently but it's so hard to get up early enough to get there. And if I don't get there in the morning, forget it!

YIPPIE! The abandoned house across the street has a new owner. They've been working on it for awhile--recently they put out a sign "Little Joe's Handyman Service."

So tonight Mike and I took a walk and I convinced him to go check in with Little Joe and mention when he's done there, we have some drywall repair we need done (I'm not TOUCHING ceiling drywall repair!!)

Turns out LITTLE JOE is the one who bought the house. He's gutting it and starting over!!!

Hmmm....having a man who runs a handyman service RIGHT across the street. Maybe some things will get done around here!!! :) (I know Handsome Handyman is shudding at the thought of moving into a place where the neighbors are constantly having you fix things!)

Guy seems REALLY nice. No kids yet. He said they hope to have some soon! KT was disappointed b/c kids typically start out so little! ;)

Sorry Stace... I can't argue on that one.... my comments are in red

We didn't do the laundry (he does more than half)
We didn't cook dinner, serve it, and clean up while DH is watching TV (he cooks 99% of the time)
We didn't bathe the children (for those with little ones) (OK... that one was my job)
We didn't clean the house (he does at least half)
We didn't run errands for the kids and the "busy" Dh's (he probably runs more errands than I do)
We didn't do ALL of the household shopping (No one ever reminds me when we need toothpaste, toilet paper, DH's special shampoo....somehow I just KNOW these things, and they get magically replaced!) (he does the shopping... it goes along with the cooking)
We didn't keep the checkbook (he does - I handed it over to him shortly after we got married... I had enough accounting in college - while he had classes like "officiating football" and "teaching tennis")
We didn't pay all the bills (that's part of having the checkbook)
We didn't organize the kids' schedules (he usually re-writes the 'master calendar' before I get a chance to)
We didn't run the kids all over town to their activities (umm... him more often than not)
We didn't have a "REAL" job on top of all this (OK, yes, I AM the one with the "REAL" job... his is more of a hobby that gets busy twice a year.)

Yes, I AM spoiled!!!! princess:

Because I got chided by Mr. Handsome Handyman for not posting pictures of my bathroom he helped me create, I got Mike right on it and now I'm ready to show it off.

But, keep in mind....it's not done! We still have some casing to put up around the cabinet (neither of us are very handy with liquid nails!) and there is supposed to be a wallpaper border but I haven't gotten to that yet.

The pictures can be found at www.mikepatrickjr.com/albums (make sure you scroll down the big images.

Here's a teaser shot of the new shower (we were going for the Wilderness Lodge look):

Btw, the corian countertop is the same pattern and color they put in the VWL units! :)

Great job!! I like the cobblestone effect on the deco band.

It all takes longer than we think, especially if you have a million "other" things to do.
BTW, I would use some finish nails on the casing around the built-in cabinet. Liquid Nails would be a mess.
Good job!!

Good job!!

Thanks. We really like it. Although it's very small for a master bath by today's standards. No room to knock out walls and make it bigger without giving up our main bath!

We didn't get real wood casing (gasp) I think it's some sort of plastic prefinished stuff. Will finish nails work well on that? (here I am asking more questions!)

Great job Karen!

I also really like KT's autograph book!

You have a "real" job! You are a teacher.....and one with the courage to go it alone!!:cheer2:

Kiki...you are indeed lucky! I truly can't complain too much, Jay does help with the kids, and he isn't messy. He always hangs his clothes or puts them in the hamper, no dirty socks laying around! But that's about the extent of it. He works his tail off at the shop, and I do everything else. I am the one who has time to "feed my addiction"....so I guess I could manage some excercise, Mary is correct!!

Ohminnie......I LOVE the tile!! Oh, how I wish I'd put in a tile like that.....Nooooo, I HAD to have mint green with white grout! stupid stupid stupid...................

Kevin, I hope you know I was just having fun with you!!
