I'm a little scared to plan another Christmas cruise....
Then again....I think the problem was, that this one wasn't DISNEY.....

I looked at the cost of the Tortola cruise that Virgil is going on...July '09 I think it is......For Jay, Jared and I in a Cat 4....almost $8000:sad2: .....we had that nice house in Turks and Caicos for a week for less than $2000. But then again, it wasn't DISNEY....

I agree that a big Christmas cruise can be a little stressful.

We enjoyed last year's 3 day pre-Christmas cruise because we could drive to the port. There was no gear to haul, no formal, etc.

Flying, trying to take gifts, etc would be really complicated.

Yes, it is DCL The Wonder.

Yikes! Cost for that is more than our 7 day Eastern in April. Don't know why I even looked since we are out of vacation days for next year and already have 2 cruises booked.

We are actually talking of doing a non Disney cruise in 2009 in Hawaii.

Who are we - chopped liver??? :confused3 ;)

There's always RCCL's Voyager of the Seas out of Galveston for Christmas or New Year's '08 - 7 days... It's a larger ship so, the gulf crossing should be easier... Broom closet category for the four of us is less than our July '09 or 8,000 in a jr suite...

I'm sure Kristin and Nick wouldn't mind hosting a pre-cruise party at their new house :lmao:

There is a nice 4 day cruise that departs on 12/24. That might work real well for some Florida locals.

Mom wasn't healthy enough to travel here for Christmas this year... she already told me yesterday that they'll DEFNITELY be here for Christmas '08... I think they'd be a little p.o'ed if they got here and we were off on a cruise... :lmao:

Our family cruise in June isn't going to work like we planned either... but I doubt they'd be up for a DCL cruise, no matter HOW much I told them that its not just for kids... we're looking at the possibility of renting a huge beach house for a week somewhere (maybe OBX or Myrtle Beach) for all 20-something of us for their 50th anniversary.

WELL OKAY

now the doc says even HALF will do ?????!!!!!!

NO NOT DOO DOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmmm.....cruise in 2009 to Hawaii? Why was I not informed of this cruise? (tapping foot)

Those are words I never thought I would see.

Don't get me wrong - we love DCL! If they had announced Alaska in 2009 we would have been on the phone the first day. Since they aren't we're thinking of going back to Hawaii and seeing the islands via NCL.

Oh. Yeah. Sorry, I don't remember much from these past two months. I'm lucky I can remember my own name!

Good Morning All.....I am hopeful that everyone had a very Happy Christmas and Boxing Day....I am noe back at work trying to catch-up while we have an empty office....

Meanwhile, we had a wonderful holiday, very festive and very family oriented. Attended my friend from high school's Christmas Eve open house - boy and I thought I had trouble getting ready - she had a leaky chimney that needed repairs after it leaked all over the living room, with the needed wallboard replacement, the pool and screen were finally repaired from the hurricanes and the new puppy had piddled all over the rugs which needed shampooing but couldn't cause the furniture was not where it should be because of the chinmey and that meant no tree...etc...etc...etc....But a little pixie dust, luck and hard work and their house was ready (with 30 minutes to spare)...They are off today to WDW to relax and they deserve it.

Then Christmas Day was church in Palm Beach, breakfast with family friends, picked up Mother and took her to our home and provided her - what she requested - to eat all day. We had about 15 appetizers and champagne spread over the course of 6 hours, with opening presents in-between.....It was fun, no rush, no news, just PBS Christmas medlies.

The next day Sam was off to work (poor thing) - I took the day off and hosted an annual Ladies Lunch for mother and, this year 2 of her 80+ year old friends, -- hey, they were the ones talking about age....

It was a small repeat of Christmas with a light lunch of soup, salad, sandwisches and triffle --- guess I went a little over board....

The tree is oh, still so pretty.........and magical...

Our Boxing Day party for friends will be on Saturday - so we have a bit of a respite.....until then...

Guess I should look at a few New year's resolutions and catch up with my disFriends Christmas postings....

LAter....:goodvibes

No worries. I know it has been crazy for you. Just didn't want you to actually think I was ignoring you. When is the roller coaster known as your life slowing down?
