Monica, if you do a quick search on Ebay sometime, you will see that 80's clothing is in the vintage category! That's depressing, isn't it? That dress is a bit out of my buying budget.

yeah, I don't like to consider clothes I've worn and still have in the back of my closet "vintage." - Classic, maybe but not vintage. ;)

Got the construction of the entertainment center almost done. Need to sand, stain, and finish. Had to have a friend come over and help lift the top section on. I will also buy the doors ready to finish. The bottom section will have solid doors on the outside cabinets and glass door on the middle one (All of the electronics go in this one) The two outside cabinets on the top section will have glass doors

Wow, that's beautimous!
I wish my DH could make something like that... beautiful!

Good mornin'!

Hey, 10-dayers....Did you see the hurricane that went right by St. Lucia????

TOP!

Is everyone watching High School Musical 2 tonight? We will. We're having another family over to watch it with us. My girls are so excited about it. They each had to wear their t-shirts to school today.

We don't have cable - much to the dismay of the kids, especially Mike. When he complained again over the weekend, I suggested that he was more than welcome to use his money to purchase dish or cable and a contract for a year instead of a Wii. He decided he could live without it.

Not having the Disney channel, Maggie's missed out on the HSM craze, Hannah Montana (she does watch Saturday Disney shows on ABC), and all of the rest... That's fine by me...

She has seen HSM, once...

Now, if they had a classic Disney channel with movies and cartoons, I'd gladly reconsider...:thumbsup2

I can't wait until they discover our tv won't receive signals next year unless we buy the converter box. I'm sure we'll be on the mean parent list, because they will be sooo underprivileged. :rotfl2:

Monica,

How are y'all doing with the rain situation? My parents are closely watching Dean as I'm sure you are too.

My kids are so in to the whole Disney Channel line-up ... The Suite Life, Hannah Montana, Corey in the House. My kids wouldn't be able to live without it!!! I'm even contemplating trying to get Hannah Montana concert tickets.

KT was invited over a friend's house to watch it. Which stinks b/c it's in town, so that I have to drive her there and pick her up. Which means I won't have access to a TV to watch it. Grrrr.

We love the Disney Channel over here. There are times when the 4 of us sit down to watch a Disney show....esp The Suite Life. :)

So many of them remind me of shows from when I was a kid. And there are a lot of great messages in them too.

Perfectly sunny for the moment - more rain expected later this afternoon.

We're on official hurricane watch right now, even though it's too soon to tell. With John's work and his responsibilities, they'll move us to San Antonio fairly early. Last year's plan included his group flying to Chicago. Logistics wise, if the hurricane turns, San Antonio makes more sense but, I'd prefer Chicago. If it were a direct hit - I would wind up in Chicago at my parents' house, anyway. Easier to get the kids enrolled in school and have support during the rebuild...

At least we don't have to worry about the carpeting downstairs, the refrigerator took care of that :lmao:

Our nightly ritual is to sit down & watch one of those shows before their bedtime. It's fun to watch the shows with them.

Is everyone watching High School Musical 2 tonight?

Only if someone tortures me... I'd rather poke myself in the eye with a sharp stick!!

Elizabeth is watching it at the neighbors... they have 2 little girls who worship the ground she walks on, so she's joining them for an HMS2 party tonight... better there than my house!!!!!

Monica - stay safe ya'hear! - I feel for you being under a H....watch...
Best wishes and stay safe and calm, in the midst of all the hype and preparations.....

Let us pray that Dean weakens and does no more damage....even before it gets close to Texas....

No cable for us as well.....so no High School Musical 2 (or 1)

And it is FRIDAY!!!! A return to Keroke

"**********

Such wonderful things surround you
What more are you looking for

Under the sea, under the sea
Darlin’ it’s better
Down where it’s wetter,
Take it from me

Up on the shore they work all day
Out in the sun they slave away

While we devotin’
Full time to floatin’
Under the sea...."

Monica, stay safe! Kevin's sons and families live there, one in LaPorte, the other a little east of Houston. But they are near the gulf. And my brother is in Corpus Christi. I'll be watching too. New Orleans and Cozumel sure don't need this either.

We're off to the circus tonight then straight to go camping in the travel trailer/etc. all weekend.
The kids are bummed about missing HSM2 but hopefully my mom will tape it for them to watch later when we return.

I agree with the article about those shows, although for some reason Suite Life is my LEAST favorite. I don't dislike it- I just like Raven better... Hannah and Suite Life I guess are tied for 2nd. LOL I never catch Raven anymore (not that we haven't already seen every episode 50 billion times anyway) -the new show Cory in the House is pretty good- it took some growing on me at first though.

NO wait- 2nd would be Drake & Josh.. my favorites in order are Raven, Drake & Josh, then Hannah Montana and The Suite life... then I guess Cory in the house.
Yes I watch all of those. Cause my kids have it on and like it on the big tv near my computer in this living room (while DH usually has something HE likes on the tv in the family room where he usuallly parks himself in the recliner LOL)
I knew who Raven was- the kids didn't have a clue (even when I tried to tell them) until finally one time they watched an old Cosby rerun (those usually come on LATE at night so it took awhile before they ever saw one with Olivia in it) and I was able to show them what I was talking about.

It's interesting when they "combine" the shows- like one time on Hannah the "president of the united states!" (haha) and "america's angel" showed up (you'll know what I mean if you watch Cory in the House). Raven on Suite Life... and seeing things from the past too- like Drake and Josh when they were obviously SO YOUNG on the Amanda show... who knew! LOL (we never saw the amanda show until reruns, long after we already knew those boys from their show). When is the show coming out that is Drake & josh's sister with her own show? (with the crazy theatre guy from Drake & Josh show- as her brother!) I saw commercials but don't know if it's come out yet.

It's interesting the spin offs and people doing this show then their own/etc.
:rotfl:

Pretty much all we watch is disney channel, animal planet, occasionally discovery channel (usually if it's related to animals and such), and then late at night I watch all the reruns of shows I liked in the past (Cosby, sometimes growing pains but that trend is over now apparently, Roseanne, etc.) Mostly Disney channel though.

:rotfl:

yeah, like Laverne and Shirley going on a date with Richie and the Fonz...Mork showing up at the Cunningham's house...:lmao: ;)

oh yeah, and don't forget the champions of all cross programming...The Love Boat and Fantasy Island...

Some would debate if the later episodes of Gilligan's Island also cross programmed. Who would really believe The Globetrotters were stranded and found their way off the island...:lmao:

Ummm.... It's called Toon Disney...... and it's available..... :confused3

pirate:

see, I told you I didn't have cable - obviously I'm a little behind in the times... Thankfully, Mike's not reading these posts. or, he'd hold me to the reconsider part...
