Sounds like something I would do. Kristin made Lauren watch Apollo 13 before her tour of the Johnson Space Center and Mission Control, Kristin had just gotten to meet Gene Kranz and wanted her to get the whole story....

Speaking of Kristin she finished her internship and is enroute back to Morgantown. She'll finish this December and Boeing has offered her a job in Houston. She wants to talk about it, but I think she'll take it.....

Cool! Way to go Kristin!!! Even if she doesn't take it, it's always nice to know she's wanted...

The occasional hurricane and (more often) flash flooding aside, we love it in this area!!!

:rotfl:

yeah, like Laverne and Shirley going on a date with Richie and the Fonz...Mork showing up at the Cunningham's house...:lmao: ;)

oh yeah, and don't forget the champions of all cross programming...The Love Boat and Fantasy Island...
Exactly! Precisely like that!

Sorry, your vacation wasn't a good one - isn't it nice to be missed at home ;)

Been keeping an eye on all of it....we're going back to St. Lucia in December.

Speaking of December - we received our documents for our pre-Christmas cruise yesterday and no one to do the doc dance with.

Yes, the Scuba's continue to be a bad influence.....we begrudgingly went last year and had an ok (really wonderful time - get it wonderful) time so we planned to go again this year....no one else is going, at least no one else has started a thread.

Just a 3 day - to relax before Christmas.

Now what shore activities should I plan?

In the family room off the kitchen..

Come on down! We'd love to have you! - John would even let you sand and varnish...:lmao: Either that or it would give me a good excuse to check into a hotel for the weekend.

I figure that company is coming to visit me, not my house...

Darn....thought I'd be able to get your goat and send you into a cleaning frenzy!!
But you don't have cable, so......;)

Exactly what I was thinking. When we were in St. Lucia, my dad and mom got into an extended conversation with some locals. There for awhile I seriously thought they'd move down there!! And all of the locals said "St. Lucia never gets hurricanes.....we're too far south."

Oops.

On what station are you watching the Underdog cartoons? Or did you rent them somewhere? I told my kids that it used to be a cartoon when I was little.

Hey guys, just checking in. Haven't been on the computer much since my I have been down in my back. It if finally starting to feel better and I can sit for longer than 5 minutes in a chair.

Angie, that is such a cute picture of the girls

Monica -- what a beautiful entertainment center John is making

Well, one more week before school starts. Trying to get last minute shopping done and it is a tax free weekend here. Ashley had 2 friends stay last night and do the High School Musical movie. They had a good time and are already up and playing games this morning.

Ashley's birthday is 2 weeks from today and I think we finally decided on a bowling party next Saturday.

Wish I were going to be at WDW during Food & Wine, but alas, we will be right in the middle of swimming and marching band.

We already have a huge conflict this fall. Ashley's all region try-outs are scheduled for November 10. That is also the weekend of the Texas All-Stars Swim Meet in Corpus Christi. Our LSC (combined of all local teams) actually selects a team and pays for them to go. Ashley is supposed to go to that too. She is pretty upset, because she has a shot at being at the top of the All-Region symphonic group. She was 1 of only 3 7th graders last year that made the top group in clarinets. So, she is probably going to have to choose between the two and for her that will be difficult.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Between Netflix and the library, we pretty much have most of our favorite childhood shows and cartoons covered. Maggie and I are watching the first season of Beauty and the Beast :thumbsup2

(Although, believe it or not - Netflix doesn't stock all the DVDs released - they don't have the Captain and Tennille show... :rotfl2: ) That's either the dead cockroach or laughing - I'll let you guess ;)

Tried to watch Dynasty (without kids) - but, it was waayyy to cheesy and to to think I never missed an episode during it's run... I'm waiting for the next season of 24 to be released. I'm working my way through Boston Legal. So, I don't entirely live in the past with tv shows...

I figure Netflix is my equivalent of cable TV...

Yeah, that always happens. For Alicia, it was 7th grade, and a choice between dance and soccer. She didn't have enough days to do both. You all know what won. Now she's trying to juggle school (including the after school theater rehearsals and dance company), teaching and taking classes and senior team at her dance studio, working about 12 hours a week, and a boyfriend. So far, the boyfriend is getting the short end. Hope he's a patient one. Though I'm thinking the job is going to go, they don't seem to pay much attention to when she says she can work. They just schedule her whenever. Is that normal for places that employ high school students?

Monica, are you sure the Captain and Tenille are out on DVD? Not all the old shows have been converted. I'm still waiting for a re-release of "My So Called Life". Maybe it will happen before Alicia gets out of high school. The old copies sell for big bucks on Ebay!
