Monica, are the kids going to make peppermint bark this year? Do they want my address?

Maggie's already asking when she will get to make cookies for her teachers (and dog biscuits for the teachers' dogs ) which will have to wait until next weekend - this weekend is the final Nutcracker weekend - I'm sure the peppermint bark will be on the menu!!! :Pinkbounc - She's in charge of Christmas Cookie production - and that is definitely an easy one for her to make...

hmm - should I charge William's and Sonoma prices??? ;)

Can you believe it!!! $24/lb!!!! :scared1:

Looks like no launch tonight - "Best shot" but too many clouds....scrubbed for tonight. She really looked pretty on the pad.

Our theatre group is sweating out this launch - our "Mortimer" a lead for "Arsenic and Old Lace" is a key person in shuttle operations - if it doesn't go up in this time frame - it could make our January performances a bit interesting, to say the least...A bit of prayers and pixie dust for a safe, timely launch would be welcomed!!!

No they won't... cold front coming through tonight into Saturday... overnight lows in the 30's... NOT convertible weather no matter WHAT state you're from!!!!!!

Too late!

I got a bug. :teeth:

Seriously, not that cold, yet. They're talking mid/upper 50's tomorrow then warm back up to the 70's for the weekend. Easily top down weather for the driving we will need to do then. :)

We're having a great time, just came back from the Very Merry, an evening spent with the Ohio clan, a great time had by all.

Very sorry to hear about Lisa, hope she'll be ok.

And it doesn't look as GOOD either!

Mark and Mary, what I want to know is how you got all your luggage in the Bug.

Did you have to put the top down and load it into the back seat? :confused3

I am actually taking the day of work.

Lots of things to get done so today is chore day. It would have been nice to sleep in, but I guess that would defeat the purpose.

Good for you - I need to do the same thing. I am not going to (meetings this am) but I need to...We have boxes all over the living room......Part of the season...Deck the halls with carboard boxes....tra-la-la-la-la......This the season to banish poxes, tra-la-la-la-la. Don we now our best apparel, tra-la-la-la-la..as we take the trash to the barrow....tra-la-la-la.

Well, what do you expect - it is early :sunny: and cold.

How is Lisa feeling today? Much better I hope. Tell her to take care....

Everyone have fun at WDW, 'specially BEAR.

It does not look good for the shuttle tonight....there is only a 10 minute launch window, that is close....

Morning chores all....later.

:tinker:Good morning cruisers :tinker:

Happy Friday!

Here is some pixie dust that Lisa is feeling better soon!

That is just way too cool!

But where's Bear????

I think he still might have been packed at that point. Not to worry he's having a great time now! :)

That is the only down side. Not a lot of cargo space.

We are traveling pretty light. Two mid-size rolling suitcases we checked, the notebook, and a carry-on case for me. One mid-size fit in the truck with the notebook, the other we did put in the back seat and the carry-on was in the front with me (since it also had my purse in it).

Opps - not quite awake and didn't realize I was logged in as Mark!:)

I'm working half the day today, then its off to the dentist for my MUCH needed root canal. (Yeah... what a great way to spend a Friday afternoon... but it will be worth it to not be miserable any more.)

After that, I'll go home and start cleaning, cleaning, cleaning, while Ray is cooking, cooking, cooking for our party tomorrow night. The house should smell great by the time I get home this afternoon!!!

We were starting to wonder about Mark carrying a purse... but hey, whatever works for him!

Good morning all! Had another long day yesterday but definately a fun one.

Slept in a bit and then headed over to Epcot mid morning. Realized the night before that I forgot to bring my DDE card. So a stop at Epcot guest services, a quick 10 minute wait and I've got a temporary one to use.

We did Nemo which I think is cute then headed over to the Land food court for an early lunch. Soarin was at 110 minutes by this point so we didn't even bother. We walked around the world and just enjoyed browsing in the shops, seeing the exhibit in China (Tomb Warriors) and just generally enjoying the day.

After looping all through World Showcase we did some shopping back in Mouse Gear and then dropped off our goodies in our locker then headed back to the International Gateway.

It was now about 2:30 and the DVC Merry Member Mixer was slated to start at 3:00. Not long after we got there we met up with Webmaster Doc and his wife. Saw a line was starting to form (this is Disney after all - gather more than say 10 people and they start forming a line) so we got in it. Disney had a nice 4 piece choral group come out and entertain us while waiting. Soon it was time to head in. This event has gotten bigger since the first time we went after the 2004 Christmas Cruise.

We got our picture taken with Chip and Dale, got in a very short line to but a very special pin from the event (the line for this was huge later), then met up with a number of other DISers. The DIS had a very large contingent here which was nice and we got to meet a lot of people who we have talked to before on the boards or in chat but had never met before.

We could only stay until 4 as we were scheduled to be at Ft. Wilderness for dinner with Karen (Ohiominnie) and family for dinner at 5. On the way out we ran into Angie who was on the 10 day with us. Her and her DH are sailing on the 12/9 Magic Double Dip. Then we ran into Cheryl and Todd who had just gotten there. Saw Angie's DH Dennis and then we were out the door!

Got to the front of Epcot pretty quick and waiting for a monorail. Didn't have to wait too long but long enough. Back to our room to drop things off and then the plan was catch a boat to the Magic Kingdom then another to Ft. Wilderness. Got to the dock and it looked like we had just missed a boat. So I called Karen and informed her we would be late. After that it was a comedy of errors where we just couldn't catch a break. Went to the monorail for the ride to Magic Kingdom. It came fast but then sat. Pulled into Magic Kingdom and saw the boat was already there - we wouldn't make it. So stayed on to the Contemporary. A boat was coming and the skipper announced his boat was going first to Wilderness Lodge, then to the Campground. But another boat just coming on the other side was doing the campground first, then the lodge. Ok so the other boat pulls in, we get on and both boats sit there. Neither captain told us it was a shift change so we wait for the new captains to get on and we are off. Only problem is our new captain is heading for the lodge! We tell him we are supposed to be going to the campground first (since it was not only us that choose this option but there were also other people on the boat who had already been to the lodge) and it was finally straight! We were about 1/2 hour late! :guilty: Luckily Karen's family being as sweet as they are were fine with it. They had gotten seated and just started eating so it was easy to catch up (since it is a buffet). Got to meet Mike's dad and his step-mom.

Dinner over we headed over to MVMCP. On Wednesday you would have hardly known it was Christmas time. The tree wasn't up an there were very few decorations. Well tonight everthing was ready and the park looked great. First up we saw Mary Poppins, Burt, and 3 cute penquins. Nick loves penquins as do we so we get in line. The woman tells us Burt and Mary are leaving in 5 minutes. We ask if the penquins are staying and she says yes. She must have thought we were nuts because we told her that's who we wanted the photo with!

Photo over we head to adventureland. We ride the flying carpets, splash mountain, big thunder, pirates, and the jungle cruise. Every ride switching off partners with whoever the kids wanted to sit with.

By now it is time for the fireworks and Mike finds us a great spot at the hub. Awesome fireworks though I miss that they don't do the 360 ones like they did for hallowwishes. We now find a spot along the parade route and Mike, Mark and KT go in search of cookies and hot cocoa. When they get back I go to get Mark and I t-shirts and the pin from the event and then we all settle in to wait for the 2nd parade.

After a very fun parade we call it a night and head back to our room. We took the ferry to T & T since it holds so many and then just walked back to our room. The beauty of staying close to the Magic Kingdom. So a late night (didn't get to bed until 1 am) but worth it.

We loved spending the night with Karen, Mike, KT and Nick!

Good morning all! It's a CHILLY one here in GA.

Irene, I liked your Fri. morning kaeroke.

Jim, enjoy your day off.

Hope everyone is enjoying their time at WDW.

Maria, welcome back.

We all can relate to your "comedy of errors" story!! :rotfl:

Glad to hear y'all are having a wonderful time!! Thanks for taking the time to keep us updated. :thumbsup2 Say "hi" to the OHIO family for us!

Tell Mark I said he looks "mighty spiffy!" in that bug! :woohoo:

Are you going to Jelly Rolls tonight?

Sounds like a lot of fun in spite of the run-around with the boats, Mary!! I wish I'd known you were going to run into Angie and Dennis, I would have had you tell them hello!
Enjoy!!

Off and running again this morning. Can't wait for tomorrow, so that I can sleep in!

(That's pretty sad.....looking forward to a day of sleeping in...)

Hi all.... Busy day today at work - aren't they all???

I leave after work to fly to England for a quick trip to see Jason. Haven't seen him in months - and he needed a little boost as he wasn't able to fly back for my Dad's funeral. He definitely has my schedule full the next couple of days - so I hope that I can get some rest on the plane.

Mary/Mark - sounds like you're having fun..... Reminds me of trying to get to the Wilderness Lodge from SSR - just can't do it easily without a car. Oh well - I'm sure that even being a little late it was worth it...... Lauren would definitely be jealous of the convertible.....

Hope everybody has a great weekend - I'll try and post from London....
