This storm sure does look like it is going to hit south Florida, but not with a big punch. The main problem is with all the blue tarps. There is still a lot of unrepaired damage that will only get worst....water damage.

Matt and Lisa are thinking no school on Thursday. They can always find a good side to a hurricane.

Looks like it will not recover hurricane strength - looks like a big disruptive mess......Should be thankful it is not more....but I hate big disruptive messes.....

Hate huricanes more.....

Trying to decide how much to haul in - orchids???? Porch??? Plants????

AAAAhhh?????

Sam is already exhausted after yesterday!!!!!!!

I need more !!!! ??????? to express my *********

:tinker:Good morning cruisers :tinker:
Happy Tuesday!

Happy to see that Ernesto has become a TS again instead of a hurricane. Still wishing all the best for all in its path.

A UTOP - great way to start a day.

pixiedust: PDFG and all who need it!

Will cause a big disruptive mess here. Looks like the 5 day cone shows it hitting the OSU horseshoe on Saturday......GAME DAY!!! :earseek:

Bite your tongue! We'd better have school on Thursday... the kids already have Friday and Monday off... give them a 5 day weekend, and my kids will be killing each other. Especially with Ray being in Utah ... when Dad's away, they find every last way to make each other (and me) miserable.

From Irene's list of hurricane preparations...

Batteries - NOPE... maybe a few half-dead ones in the junk drawer
Food - couple boxes of Power Bars, a case of gatorade, (remember... football season takes precedence over hurricane season.
Gas for Car - 1/4 tank
Gas for grill - no idea
'puter - on it now... which means its charging
Emergency preps for office - we'll be here... trucks will run until winds hit 40 mph
Beer for the Hedgehog - I have no hedgehog, but there's ALWAYS beer!
Shutters - I'd have to move the pool table to get to them... like THAT's gonna happen
Mother - 1400 miles away, but still in a panic that FL is getting a storm
Husband - on his way to 2300 miles away... he could care less that there's a storm coming.

Now the storm can go away!!!!

Just wanted to tell all those in FL to stay safe! Still not sure if we'll get rain out of this our not.

Ang

Karen -- hadn't been on all day today, but I have seen it and responded. Thanks!!

Anyone have any updates on the release of 08 dates and what not???

PAM....

EMERGENCY PM!! Check your PM box!! :)

Hi folks - well, Mother's shutters are up and she is here......We are waiting to see what develops.......I, for one, am relying on the great puff of the blabbermouths to blow this thing away.

It looks like Amanda and crew and Orlando will be seeing another TS.

Very disruptive at work.....This is not engendering productivity.....

Hum, what DVD to watch tonight...

Hint - Little Mermaid was not a good choice for Hurricane Francis - too much water!!!!!

From the looks of the current forecast, we'll be sharing some of our precipitation with you.

Our office is closed tomorrow... once sustained winds get above 30mph, we pull our trucks off the road... which looks to be the case by 10AM tomorrow... School is cancelled... Ray is still flying out to Utah tomorrow, as long as his plane is taking off... I guess its a good thing that I hit the library yesterday... so I've got 2 good books for tomorrow.

Stay safe, Floridians. Looks like it's going to be rainy if nothing else. Kiki, should I sympathize more that you are in the path of a TS, or that your kids are home from school for five days?

Not fair. I'm going to work tomorrow and I'm the one that makes the decision to open or close.

I figured it is better to go in for a couple of hours to get away from the kids! :lmao:

Actually, Lisa is going to work with Sharon because she needs her. I get her on Friday. I've been stacking my filing since school started.

Pixie dust and prayers for all that are in Ernesto's path...especially my Floridian friends (even though they're BoSox fans) :teeth: Stay safe and be well.....

Speaking of Boston...it's almost September and they're falling apart already. Ba-bye now!! Now Poppi is out and Manny. That's their whole team. That's 3 major players, including Varitek. Soooo sorry. I like the shirt they're selling outside Yankee Stadium. It says, "It wasn't a curse, Boston just s***ed for 86 years". Gotta love it.

Checking in - all Hurricane watches discontinued.....we are laughing at British Comedies on CDs - Sam grilled up a good dinner.....

Shame we have to waste all this fun on a silly storm.....

Kiki - good luck with the kids....

Jim - schools and offices closed here - Home Depot opens again at noon tomorrow.....at least that is the present plan.?????

I can loan you a kid or two...:rotfl2: :rotfl2: they're cheap labor.

We made the decision to close based on the fact that our trucks turn into 'kites' when lots of water and 30+mph winds are involved... which, even if it doesn't lead to an accident, leads to a whole LOT of damaged product... :guilty:

Good morning all! I can't believe that I'm the first post this a.m. Irene/Jim, are you ok? What about you, Mary?

Bruce came home from work yesterday & said that there was a carjacking at his office.:scared1: A masked person forced a woman in to her car at gunpoint. The report that I found on a news website said that the guy jumped out and they were unable to find him. :scared1: We live and work in one of the safer 'burbs ... or so we thought? :confused3

Stay safe everyone!

Happy Wednesday!

I'm here! Just moving a little slower this morning. Hope all in Florida and in the path of Ernesto are doing well.

Nothing but a little bit of rain right now... Ernesto is fizzling out. Winds are supposed to pick up later... but even then only in the 30mph range... at least that's what the weather gurus (who don't know much) are saying.

I have so much to do at work, and here I am, sitting home watching HGTV... Christopher has already invaded the neighbors, and Elizabeth is *I think* cleaning her room...  It's a good day for a nap!
