Stay safe and be careful, Floridians, and East Coasters!

Good Morning All - a very disruptive 24 hours but NO storm - we are greatful....Yeah :cool1:

Sam is back at work.....HD opens at noon for all the office folk that have the day off. I am trying to work, but office 'puter is stuck. The insurance folks are here but the rest of the building is deserted.

We had a nice evening at the house, with lots of laughs. Mother is now home, selected shutters open and the wind and rain are less than a normal evening storm.

Home 'puter would not let me review this am posts, so I will look now.

Take care those of you central and north of us..... :thumbsup2

Nothing but a little bit of rain right now... Ernesto is fizzling out. Winds are supposed to pick up later... but even then only in the 30mph range... at least that's what the weather gurus (who don't know much) are saying.

I have so much to do at work, and here I am, sitting home watching HGTV... Christopher has already invaded the neighbors, and Elizabeth is *I think* cleaning her room...  It's a good day for a nap!

Last night our weather guys were trying to make a news story out of 23 mph wind....Better this than another Wilma.....

Good morning all! I can't believe that I'm the first post this a.m. Irene/Jim, are you ok? What about you, Mary?

Bruce came home from work yesterday & said that there was a carjacking at his office.:scared1: A masked person forced a woman in to her car at gunpoint. The report that I found on a news website said that the guy jumped out and they were unable to find him. :scared1: We live and work in one of the safer 'burbs ... or so we thought? :confused3

Stay safe everyone!
Ang

For the computer folk - I logged on ok this am - we never lost power....But, all screens, not just the Dis had no up and down tool bar arrow....I could write a reply from the first page, but could not scroll to post it....I gave up!!!!

If you do not hear from me tomorrow am...it is still broken.

I can loan you a kid or two...:rotfl2: :rotfl2: they're cheap labor.

We made the decision to close based on the fact that our trucks turn into 'kites' when lots of water and 30+mph winds are involved... which, even if it doesn't lead to an accident, leads to a whole LOT of damaged product... :guilty:

Now how can you damage beer???????

(insert smilie lapping up puddle here)

From Kiki's response of hurricane preparations...

Batteries - Still fully unused
Food - we are one of the few couples that think fresh chicken is hurricane prep food --- and we were right - yummy.
Gas for Car - less now - running around for Mother.
Gas for grill - On the list for after the storm.
'puter - well, it works.
Emergency preps for office - why did I shut down the system, I cannot restart it?????
Beer for the Hedgehog - Kiki - send more......Hedgehog drinking away.
Shutters - Repairs set for Saturday.
Mother - Always worry - working on list for next time.
Husband - on his way to work to deal with the "public"

Now the storm HAS GONE away!!!!!

That's right....the lawyers and beer people are home.....but the insurance people are in their offices! :rotfl:

It actually was a very productive day because the phones were quiet. Everyone assumed we would be closed.

I never heard from the kids today so hopefully the house is still standing. :confused3

That just shows how IMPORTANT you are!

The house was still standing when I got home. In fact the kids made dinner tonight, chicken. It was great.

We watched Failure to Launch tonight since it was like a Saturday night. Funny movie. I stopped it several times to make the point......living at home was not a option! :rotfl:

Well, I'm off to my naked room! (part of the movie).

You should see it and watch it with the kids. No better time than now to start planting the seed that living at home at 35 is not acceptable.

I love you, but get out. :rotfl:

Good Morning Jim - I see you are back to stealing TOPS :sunny:

Good Morning All - Sunny wether all around - I hope. :sunny:

South Florida should be back to normal, at least that is the plan...... :thumbsup2

Did not see the movie, will put it on the blockbuster list....

This little guy emerged last night - I forgot to take it's pciture as I was caught by surprise. We planted new "baby" citrus after Wilma trashed ours. Small citrus cannot survive the onslaught of catepillers so thy must be plucked off the leaves. I saved this one and feed it on key lime leaves until it pupaeted (sp?). Normally, they appear in the morning. I expect the artificial light and/or the storm messed its little clock. So we carefully placed it outside. It was drying its wings when we went to bed, and was gone when I looked this morning. I hope it has a nice life.

When the tree is stronger and larger, we leave the cycle of nature alone and are blessed with many winged sparkels of colour in the spring.

:tinker:Good morning cruisers :tinker:

Happy Thursday!

Happy to hear Ernesto didn't do too much damage. Hope he stays away from OSU this weekend!

You are very welcome Deb. Nice way to show our pride in DVC!

My brother lived home til he got married at 33... he's 7 years older than I am, and I still beat him out of the house by 7 years. (Now my parents live with ME for 4 months out of the year... go figure.)

My brother lived at home until he got married in 1993. He was 32. After the wedding he moved into his own house......right across the street from my parents.

btw, I moved out of the house in 1991 and my brother is 6 yrs older than I am, so I also beat him out of the house by a long shot!!!

Good morning everyone. Glad the storm did not hit Florida too hard this time.

Deb -- love the new DVC logo. I tried putting it in mine, so I hope it works.

Jim -- love the "naked room" scene from the movie.
