That is the great thing about DVC - something for everyone. I don't care for the beds at OKW - way too high for me. I really do like the resort as a whole.

We don't care for VWL because of a bad experience there. See others love it and it is our least favorite.

We love Boardwalk even with its faults. Yes the hallways are long and we've had a room at the very very end (but it was the best view we ever had). Yes the clown is a little scary but we aren't pool people.

We've only stayed at Beach Club once and it was for one night after the December cruise. We were so beat we begged them for any room they had open when we got there and it was a smoking room. The room itself was fine and I would stay there again.

We've never stayed at SSR but toured it at Member Homecoming and it seems nice. I would try that some day.

We've stayed at Vero only for one night but really liked it. Will definately have to go back.

Never tried Hilton Head but have heard wonderful things about it from friends and definately want to try it some day.

I stayed at Hilton head and it was wonderful, very different experience to being in WDW. Adam loved the campfire at night and they even let him put the fire out 2 nights we were there, he loved the smores too. The beach house is also great.

Are you kiddding... I'm gonna have to lie to mine and say that I'm going away for work. Yet another boooooorrrrrrring trip for long meetings and overblown powerpoint presentations. Yep. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!!

Hmmm...I wonder if that would work for me?? I doubt it. I'll just have to tell them what I have told them before. "Sometimes life just isn't fair!"

I AM invited, aren't I???

Funny....... that's just what I tell the kids!!

Last night Aubrey decided for some reason to check our tickets to Vancouver - I couldn't believe what I saw they were booked for a day earlier than we were going!!!!
Checked the pre-cruise hotel which I knew was correct.
He went to Delta and luckily they had 2 seats on the non-stop for the correct day - cost us to change but beats paying for the hotel and the extra day out of town as we will be gone fo 17 days already!!!

:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 wonder why I had a stressful day today!!!

There is no bus to MGM or Epcot from the Epcot resorts. It's only Friendships or foot power. The Friendships do run on a very regular schedule, time wise they're reasonably quick, lots faster than walking there, but I think the big thing especially for you is they are really geared out to accomodate people with the strollers, the thing that bothers you with the buses.

Thank you Mark. I t was all moot anyway, Diana was spot on..no avail in BW for a studio.. I did just what she suggested and booked OKW with a waitlist for BW..So how does that work?

We had a most welcome rain storm here this evening!! Lots of lighting, some wind and a veritable downpour with some hail mixed in. Right as I was out the door to get Alicia at dance, it stopped and the sunset mixed with the rainbow was very nice!!

Kevin that was a gorgeous shot! Needs to go in the same album with the moon pic!

I've never stayed at Boardwalk, so can't really give it a fair judgement. I have stayed at OKW several times and love it. It is very convenient to be able to pull right up to your building at OKW....esp. when checking in and checking out! I will say that every time we've stayed there we've taken full advantage of the bus system. No matter where we go on property we use Disney Transport 99% of the time. We do drive to DTD. We do drive to the water parks. But that's pretty much it.

Having stayed at the Beach Club, I do like the ability to be able to walk to Epcot and/or take the Friendship boats. That's part of my love for VWL---you can boat to the Magic Kingdom. :) Boating is always a fun option and something we don't get to do at home. "Hey kids, throw on your life vests, we're boating to Kroger!!!" :lmao:

That is really part of the beauty of DVC....there are resorts for everyone's tastes and prefences. I know there are some who would NEVER stay at VWL (who don't like it even though they've never stayed there) I say that's great.....b/c then there is less to interfere with ME making reservations! But really, we stay lots of places depending on the time of year or if we are taking guests. We LOVE VWL all the time but ESPECIALLY if we're going in the fall/winter or we're taking guests. We love OKW if it's a spring vacation b/c the atmosphere literally launches us into "summer mode." We love BCV if our vacation is going to be a "swim vacation." And we were really blown away at Saratoga Spring's amenities the last time we were down.

Speaking of....Amanda, why not stay at SSR?? :)

I would like to BUT I am just not certain that it is worth the extra points??Plus I hae a bad habit of sticking with what I know,, and I was really comfortable at OKW..but I would like to try something different. Are the studios at SSR difficult to get? Do you have any pics Karen? How was the pool?

Ya know, you're NOT helping with my 101 reasons NOT to renew our AP's (all of them are $$...$$...$$... you get the picture) ... I'm trying to go a year without them... they expired on 5/1... not sure I'll make it with *desparate* people like you who NEED a park buddy...

:rotfl:

Our AP come up in Oct and I know we will have the same discussion, especially since it will be W&F festival time.

Yay, I love talking about DVC.
I think I'm the only one in my family that still really enjoys the parks. Kevin will tolerate them, especially if there's something new to try, or DISers to meet up with. Alicia likes them, but is never in any hurry to go. If she is in the middle of a good book, forget it. I think I need a park buddy that wants to go off season and enjoys hanging out at Epcot. Any takers?

Oh yay! A wealth of inforamtion! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experiences!
This trip I am plannig was actually supposed to be my very first solo trip...I started gettting the guilt so now I am no longer alone...Those of you who met me last labor day weekend will remember probably a frazzled mother of four and probably wonder why the heck would i put myself thru that again...well truth is the good always outshines the bad and all I can remember from taht trip is the good times the kids and I had together. When we spent a week at the parks pre cruise it was not what we had intened it to be. Steve was going to relax at the resprt and maybe go to a park a day or 2 and we were gonaa it easy. Well because I invited my Mom, and then my brother and his family also ended up coming, I wanted to amke sure and show them around. Steve wanted to hang to. SO, even though this sounds ludicrous, I didnt really get to do my week in the parks like I wanted to.

I still dont know what to do....
88 pts 1 week OKW studio no dining plan or add dining plan for about $680
or keep my orig ressie booked under free dining

7 nights at POP free dining $862ish and cancel DVC booking and save points? But for what? I had to borrow to make above ressie

I was going to bank all my points and keep my POP ressie originally, but then the whole thing happened with the wallet....so now I am trying to cut costs on this trip...hmmm what to do what to doo...If I stay OKW and add dining it will really only save me about $200....but if I stay OKW no dining....then it costs me nothing and we can eat on the cheap for the week....HEADACHEyet? I try not to confuse you all to often, but I could use your opinions......WWYD?

Sorry, your cover is blown. I just printed this page so Lisa can take it to school. :rotfl2:

Now, I do have a price that will keep the page out of her hands.......:thumbsup2

Mike, our neighbor, announced at dinner tonight (salmon with a champaign sauce) that they are doing a world cruise in 2008 for his 60th birthday.

We need to start planning on what part of their trip we are going to meet up with them on. :cool1:

All this talk about the women's trip makes me start wondering.....when can the guys go away with the wives and kids? :rotfl:

That should stir the pot for a while!!!!

I wasnt going to renew either Karen...but ours expired on the 28th of May..and the closer it got to June 28th (30 day grace period) the itchier my palms got and the tic of my eye got worse and I started experienced PAP renewal related Tourettes! I would yell out obscene words like, ANNUAL!
RENEWAL! MONEY SAVED! TIME TICKING! NO LAST MINUTE TRIPS!
Well you get the picture....sigh and DVC didnt make it any easier by offereing such a kick booty disc on PAP renewal....Then I was only going to do mine..but that darn PAP Touretets kicked in again....ALONE! NO BUDDY! NEED ONE KID AT LEAST! So I was going to renew one of theirs...again with the disease...WHICH KID?MEAN MOMMY! PLAYING FAVORITES!
See where this gets me in trouble ?
